CHAPTER 43
ALPHA MARK'S POV.
‘Hey Ava, would you like to go out for dinner tonight? There is something I would like to discuss with you.’ With my back leaned against my chair and a glass of red wine in front of me.
I read over the message I had just typed to Ava.
I hesitated, staring blankly at the words of the message for a moment before hitting the send button.
I put my phone aside after making sure the message had been sent and went back to my work for the day, the weight of the day and that of what happened last night hung on my shoulders.
I thought about how breaking the news to Ava about Martha being kicked out of the pack house and revealing her lies hadn't been as hard as I feared and thought it would be initially.
My phone buzzed, snapping me out of my work, it was a message from Ava that had just come in. ‘That is fine by me’ was her reply to my request.
A wave of happiness rushed over me as I read her reply, getting to spend time with Ava was becoming less chaotic as the day went by.
This only showed my progress so far in trying to win her back.
I quickly went back to the documents I was sorting out, wanting to bring closure to it, so I could head home to start preparing for the dinner date which I was so eager about.
I wanted to get back home early because I wanted to have enough time to groom myself properly as this was our first major date.
Not as if the other dates didn't matter, but I just see them as random meet-ups because it wasn't in a fascinating setting with a nice romantic aura.
When I got home, I went straight to taking a warm shower that lasted longer than normal because I wanted the running water to wash every trace of stress and fatigue the day's work might have left on me.
After taking the bath that instantly made me relieved, I went on to pick an outfit for the night.
Again, It was a special outing for me, and I was trying to be intentional about every detail of it.
Running through the stack of clothes in my closest that was properly ironed, and hung on a wooden hanger, I brought out a pair of red suits and a pair of navy-blue suits to choose from, and then I went over to the mirror to match both on my skin before finally settling for the navy-blue suit, not for anything much but for the fact that it made my skin popped, and I like it when my skin-pops.
After laying out my outfit on the bed, I moved on to styling my hair.
I haven't done this in a while as it was a long time since I went on a proper date, so it was a bit difficult for me to slip down my hair in a fashionable way that would accentuate my look.
It did take me so much time to get the look I was going for, but I finally got it and I moved swiftly back to where my outfit was laid out and got dressed.
I picked out a matching shoe for it, not a footwear person, so I just went with what I thought would put my look together, a black shoe with a little diamond crescent scattered in the pattern at the front.
And then for my accessories, they were also nothing much for that, just a wristwatch and that was it.
I completed my whole dress up by putting on a nice chocolate-scented cologne, and I was set for the evening.
On my way to Ava’s house, I stopped by to get a bouquet of flowers, still trying to make intentional decisions to make the night a memorable one.
I didn't want to go for the normal lilies I have handed over to her for some time now, so I picked out a bouquet of red roses.
After all, red symbolizes love and passion, which was the theme of the night.
By the time I got to Ava's house, she was already waiting for me outside, all dressed in a long, satin body-hugging gown, looking as stunning as always.
I let a smile slip on my face, and my breath caught in my throat; she was mesmerizing.
“Wow, Ava!” I gushed as I got out of the car to give her the flowers I had earlier bought for her, “You look amazing.” I teased her.
She smiled shyly, taking the bouquet from me “Thank you, Mark, you look quite dashing yourself.” She replied softly, and I smiled harder, leading the way back to the car and opening the door for her to get in.
We headed straight to the fancy restaurant downtown where I had reserved a table for us.
That was another intentional decision I made for the success of the date night and permit me to say it was the highlight of it all as the ambiance of the place was perfect, just like I had imagined it, it had a dark aesthetic vibe, but the lightning was proper, and the rooftop space had only a few tables that were fully occupied except one that stood in the middle which was ours.
The waiter we met at the front door after checking out our names on the reservation list led us right to the table and we settled in.
With the sparkling look in Ava's eyes, I could tell that she was impressed with it all, and that was the game plan all along.
Our first course was served a few moments afterward, with shrimp sauce with avocado and toast bread at the side, along with a glass of cocktail.
“Do you like the place?” I still went further to ask even when the answer was already evident on her face.
Ava looked around like she was just taking notice of the place for the first time and smiled, “Yes, it is lovely, fits my mood for the night.” she answered.
