Chapter 95 CRAZY DREAMS

Chapter 95 CRAZY DREAMS
Kali's POV

For a heartbeat, I froze, and I could swear that my nervous system had completely been broken down. In fact, in this moment, I honestly didn't think that time existed anymore.

I had crazy dreams, and often times my intrusive thoughts were usually a lot, but if anyone had whispered into my ears, even my wolf, Venus, that this was how the night was going to end, then best believe I would have taken it as a badly executed joke or prank at best.

For the next couple of seconds, I couldn't move and there was no way you could blame me. With everything that had happened prior to this moment, I never saw this coming, even in a million years.

My eyes were wide open, but somehow, I couldn't see the man in front of me. It was Diego no doubt, and what gave him away with his signature scent I'd come to familiarize myself with.

How the hell was this even happening?

My subconscious must have been linked to my thoughts somehow, because I'd barely asked myself that question in my head, before my mind decided to answer it for me.

One minute I was trying to make sense of what was going on, and the next, I was already reliving the events that led to this moment.

I was crushed when Diego had asked me to leave. It took everything in me to pull myself out of his office, and halfway back to my room, I actually pondered the idea of going back to his office to beg for a second chance.

I had no idea what I was going to say if I had gone, but would it have even mattered? And most importantly, if I had gone ahead with my plan of going back to his office, how would that turn out for me? Would he have kissed me in his office too?

A small groan was all it took to pull me out of my thoughts, and before long, I realized it had come from me and not Diego. I swallowed hard as it dawned on me, that I'd actually been ignoring reality for far too long now.

His mouth was on mine, hot and unexpected, and I difnt miss the taste of alcohol mixed with something darker, something him. A wave of shock roared through me, but I didn’t push him away. My lips parted on instinct, just enough for him to take what he wanted, and gods, he did.

Diego kissed me like a man starved, like every ounce of restraint he wore so tightly had finally snapped, and it burned through me. My wolf howled in delight, claws raking at the edges of my skin, ecstatic to finally taste the one it had been waiting for.

I honestly tried to calm her down, but the harder I tried, the more ecstatic she got. I wouldn't say I blamed her. If this wasn't happening right now, then I would have never believed that Diego could ever kiss me.

The kiss lingered, deepened and grew hungry. His tongue teased against mine until my knees turned to water, my breath catching in his mouth. I should’ve been anxious still, should’ve remembered the way he’d cut me down earlier in his office, but it was impossible. The heat of him pressed against me, and the raw hunger in his kiss, drowned out everything else.

A moan slid past my lips as his hands cupped my cheeks, and I found myself leaning into him. Like that wasn't enough, he pulled my bottom lip in between his teeth, and if not for self control, then best believe that I would have pulled him into the bed with me.

“Diego.” I was breathless, but he didn't seem to mind. Instead, he took that as an opening to push his tongue deeper into my mouth. “I…”

I had no idea what I wanted to say, the entire thing had been scrambling with my last braincells, but the last thing I expected was for him to pull back.

In the blink of an eye, he tore his mouth from mine, his chest heaving. A wave of silence settled in the air between us, but he broke it before I could think of anything else.

“Kali.” Both hands slid from my face, and just as I was worried that he would take all of his warmth with him, he pressed his fists against the duvet, trapping me in a space that belonged to just him. “I…I'm. I didn't mean…..”

As he stuttered, the only thing I could see was the battle in his eyes. He hadn’t wanted to stop, I could feel it. And his  fingers inching closer to my waist like letting go would kill him was all the proof I didn't know I needed.

I stared at him, waiting for him to speak up again, but he didn't, and somehow, that was it for me. Something inside me snapped.  Enough hesitation, and enough fear, and without giving it so much as a single thought, I reached up and kissed him.

I poured every ounce of defiance, want, and trembling need into the press of my lips. Maybe I was silly and stupid for kissing him back, and maybe there were consequences attached to what I'd just done. But whatever it was, I was going to deal with it later.

Diego groaned low in his throat, like he hadn’t expected me to kiss him back, but the second I did, he devoured me. His hands slid lower, gripping my thighs and lifting me with a strength that stole my breath. My legs wrapped around his waist before I could think, and he pressed me against the wall, his body a solid, burning weight.

His mouth moved against mine in fierce, hungry laps, his tongue tasting every corner like he owned it. My moans were the only things hitting the roof, but he didn't seem to care as his lips found the corner of my neck, before he nipped at it.

My wolf was ecstatic, dancing wild beneath my skin, urging me to give him everything. I wanted to, hell, if I could I would take everything off right now. He could have me as many times as he wanted, and I wouldn't dare protest or deny him.

My fingers tangled in his hair, pulling desperately, as his palms slid up. He continued his accent, his grip on me bold and possessive, until they covered my breasts. He squeezed through the thin fabric of my dress, and heat coiled low in my belly, sharp and insistent.

“Hell, you're perfect.” He muttered, and his low husky voice sent me to cloud nine and back. “you're so fucking perfect.”

I gasped against his lips, nails digging into his shoulders. The kiss was turning reckless, and even a child would be able to tell what would happen next if we didn't put a pause to this.

The thought had barely registered itself at the back of my mind before, a sharp knock at my door jolted me like a bucket of ice water.

We froze, his breath ragged against my mouth, his body still caging mine against the wall. The sound came again, louder this time, insistent, and my heart leapt into my throat.

Who the hell would be knocking now?
