Promised

In Bleeding Moon, my family wasn’t high up enough to live in the packhouse with Dylan. Honestly, we were barely part of the pack. We lived so far from it. And now that I think back on it, I’m so glad we didn’t live with him. He would have had full access to me. I never would have been able to get out from under him. I’ve never really been in a packhouse, and while this is my first time, I know this one is larger than Dylan’s. It’s so grand. It’s a mansion. If that. A chateau would be a better word. A fucking massive one.

As we walk in, my imagination couldn’t have pictured this. It was perfect. I don’t mean that in an uncomfortable, sterilized place. I mean in it was perfect for me. I had a feeling this wasn’t a conventional packhouse from the exterior, but… wow. I stared at a living room that had to be at least forty feet wide. A navy blue sectional with gold trim that was probably the size of my living room back home stretched out in front of me. Matching oversize chairs sat on either side with a tan table in the middle that looked like it was detachable. There was a beautiful black piano at the foot of a long black staircase with black curved railings that led to the second floor.

But that wasn’t all. Behind the sectional was another set of oversized chairs, cute tan tables, and lights on around the space. At the far back, there were double doors and halls leading outside. There were more railings on the second floor and windows lined the part of the hallways I couldn’t see from where I stood. The interior had a black and white color scheme.

“What do you think?” Andrius asked. Looking toward him, I found him watching me. The excitement was clear on his face.

“What do I think? It looks… amazing!” I sighed the last word.

“Good. I wanted it to feel open.”

“It does. Are you the only one who lives here?” I asked.

“No. My top ranked also reside here. While I don’t like the idea of other men staying under the same roof as you, I trust them with my life. You have nothing to worry about when it comes to them.”

“I wasn’t worried. Only curious. I look forward to meeting your friends,” I said.

“Are you hungry?” he asked.

“No, but thank you. Levi fed me before you arrived,” I whispered.

“Mm…” he hummed.

“What?” I asked. He grabbed my hand and pulled me close. His warmth drew me in. The need to taste him had my lips parting. My gaze searched the second floor. There was no one in sight, but I felt like we were doing something we shouldn’t.

“Andrius…” I said hesitantly.

“Mistress, let me show you to our room,” he teased. And then he pulled me to his side. His arm wrapped around my waist, his hand held my hip, and I sighed into his embrace. We walked up the black stairs and I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face as I thought of my best friend.

“Levi would love these steps,” I murmured.

“You’re right,” he said.

“We still have a lot to talk about,” I reminded him. Now that we were here, I wouldn’t let the beauty of Silver Moon pack distract me.

“I know, and I’ll answer every single one of your questions. I’d rather not have anyone eavesdropping on our conversation.” I nodded and let him lead me down one hallway and then another. “That and I want you in our bed.”

“Mm..” I hummed.

“I share the top floor with my beta. You’ll meet him tomorrow.”

“Okay,” I murmured.

But I wasn’t thinking about the other people. After he said our bed, the only thing on my mind was our bodies tangled. To his room. Well, our room. This would be our first time alone without praying eyes. The first time I’d met him, I’d been on a date with Dylan. The second time, we somehow cross paths at the Lake. And the third, my body warmed at the memory. I’d wanted everything that happened with Andrius and Levi. Logically, I knew things were moving quickly, but my heart craved this. I needed to see where things went with these two. But I also had a lot of things to ask him, like how he knew where Levi lived and why he barged into his room. Now that I think about it. I needed to know why they didn’t fight. Something wasn’t adding up. But my perverted mind was straying toward more dirty thoughts. I was more than satisfied, but I was greedy. Questions first, naughty sex later?

When we reached a black door, Andrius pushed it open. I stepped forward and out of his embrace. I had only ever been in one man’s room and that was Levi’s. This one was similar, but also very different. Instead of being all black, this one had the same color theme as downstairs; white and black. Three walls were white. The fourth one—directly across from where I stood now—was all window. I couldn’t see what lay outside, but the night sky was beautiful. Stars twinkled and the outline of trees were visible.

Looking around, the room was spacious. Two large white couches were placed in a l-shape and a small glass coffee table sat in front of them. To the right, against a white wall, was the largest bed I’ve ever seen. Andrius stepped behind me, gentle hands held my waist.

“Look up,” he whispered.

I did as he said and gasped. The ceiling was made of glass. I had thought the view out of the window was beautiful. This was out of this world.

“It’s…” I trailed off.

“Do you like it?” he asked.

“Yes! You’re so lucky! You literally get to sleep beneath the stars. That is the last thing you see before you go to bed?” I shook my head in disbelief.

“The last thing I’ll see before I go to bed tonight is you. You can have the stars,” he said.

“You’re… way too good at that,” I murmured.

“At what?” he asked.

“At pickup lines,” I said. He chuckled.

“That wasn’t my intention, but I’d love to know if it worked,” he teased.

“Oh, yeah, it definitely did.”

He laughed. It was a warm sound. He pressed a kiss to my cheek and led me to the nearest couch.

“Before your clothes disappear, let’s get to those questions.”

“That’s bold of you to assume, Alpha,” I teased back.

“Believe me. This night will end with you naked and my head between your legs,” he promised.
