Chapter 22

Chapter 22
"But I'm still scared as if we're criminals, we killed them, and in the human world, that's against the law," Lisa said.

"You don't have to worry! They won't know," said Lucanne.

Meanwhile, Mark was daydreaming incoherently near the forest. He almost had sexual intercourse with the vampire girl. He felt strange when he was close to the girl but refused if he fell in love at first sight.

"Mark, where have you been? Where is Alpha? Is he still in the hospital? Wait a minute! Do you have bite marks on your neck?" asked Sean.

Mark held his neck. "It's nothing."

"Is it? Your face tells me you're hiding something," said Sean.

"How's the Pack doing? No one attacked?"

Sean shook his head. "It's clear that our pack and Moreno will be punished by the Moon Goddes, especially Alpha, who will be severely punished."

"It's already happened. Alpha has lost her baby, and this shows the wrath of the Moon Goddes," Mark said.

"I'm afraid if we are punished for not living in the forest anymore, where will we live? In the city with humans and vampires? Just imagining it is horrible," said Sean.

Mark kept quiet, and all this was because of Lisa, the girl who threatened the werewolf population. Some werewolves came to report that some children were sick; Sean and Mark quickly headed to the Pack. It turned out that the children had caught a fever, and their bodies had even turned into wolves.

"What's going on?" asked Mark.

"Where's Luna? She must heal our children."

"Our queen is in the hospital because she lost her baby. I will call another doctor to heal the children," said Mark.

Not long after, one by one, the werewolf children had seizures with foam at the mouth. Their parents were frantic and telepathic to Alpha to return to the Pack. The Pack's situation was agitated as, one by one, the children died.

Lucanne arrived as quickly as possible, only to find that the poor werewolf children were dead.

"What happened?" asked Lucanne.

"The doctor said they were poisoned by the medicine Luna made," Mark said.

"What do you mean?"

"Luna usually makes medicine, but it looks like it's poisoning the kids this time. After something like this, who will be responsible?" asked Mark.

"Luna couldn't have poisoned them; something must be wrong," Lucanne replied.

"A werewolf and elf marriage is never a good idea. Just look at all the trouble you've caused since you married!" said Mark.

Lucanne was, of course, angry with Mark's words; they almost got into a fight. Fortunately, another werewolf broke them up.

"Now, we take a vote. Can Lisa stay here or not?" said Mark.

"If Lisa gets kicked out of the Pack, then I'll leave too and won't be your alpha anymore," Lucanne replied.

"It doesn't matter because I can be the Alpha for this clan. You have changed, Lucanne."
The atmosphere was getting hotter; Lucanne looked at all her people, who looked sad and confused. They certainly did not dare with Lucanne, who had been their Alpha for decades.

"Okay, fine. Let our people choose whether Lisa can stay or leave here, but remember that I will leave if Lisa leaves," Lucanne said.

"Why argue unnecessarily? Lucanne is our Alpha, and she can't leave this place," Sean said.

"Sean, it's okay if I'm no longer needed here. I'll go; I'm sure Mark can lead this clan," Lucanne said.

Lucanne already understood that Mark seemed to start disliking her, especially after he married Lisa. Mark's attitude changed.
Voting was done reluctantly; the people could make their own choices.

Half an hour later.
The votes had been collected; now it was time to count them. Some voted for Lucanne to stay, and some asked Lucanne to leave. Their loyalty was tested from here, even though they forgot Lucanne's sacrifice for this clan.

"After voting and getting the final results, Lisa has to leave this Pack," Sean said.

Mark smiled happily while Lucanne understood that she had to go. Some werewolves prevented her from leaving, but it was also a mutual agreement.

"Alpha... " Sean said.

"He's no longer our alpha," Mark replied.

"That's right, Sean. I'm no longer the Alpha; congratulations to the new Alpha. I hope you can lead this clan well."

Lucanne returned to the city and brought her clothes. The Moon Goddes would be angry if she left without saying goodbye. Lisa saw her husband carrying a lot of clothes, and Lucanne's face looked lackluster.

"Lucanne?"

"From now on, we'll just live together in the city and start a new life. The Pack doesn't need me anymore, and they kicked us out," Lucanne said.

"What happened?"

"The children died after taking your potion; they had high fevers and seizures and died."

Lisa was shocked to hear that. "No way, my potions have been fine when used."

"I didn't know. You were expelled, and I had to leave, too."

"Lucanne, you are their king; how can his people expel a king?"

"Mark is now king, and I think it was his wish to get rid of me," Lucanne said.

Lisa grasped Lucanne's hand tightly, and it turned out that the life of a werewolf is much more complicated than a human's. Those who are weak will be eliminated.

After returning home from the hospital, they lived in a small apartment. Lucanne began to adapt to humans and even started looking for a job to make money. Lisa helped her, and she even became a part-time employee at a cafe after graduating from school. At least Lisa had a life companion after her father died.

"When will you learn to eat fruits and vegetables?" asked Lisa as she watched Lucanne eat bread for the first time.

"I still need time to adapt," Lucanne replied.

"I know you must miss Pack."

"Not really."

"I'm sorry that I made you have to leave home."

Lucanne smiled; they were now enjoying their meal in front of the dining table.

"Now you are my home, a place for me to come home to," Lucanne said.
