Chapter 34 A protector
Lyra
Whipping me till I passed out wasn't part of what he wanted to do to me and from the looks of things he didn't want to hold back.
I couldn't even walk properly but then I had to keep my head high so there wasn't going to be a problem.
“How on earth am I going to do something with this?”
I managed to mutter something to myself knowing that they weren't going to let me even think about any other thing. It was going to be scary and indeed it was.
The Alpha isn't going to let me get out of this, and I know that for sure he has something in mind that would be more excruciating than the other things he did to me.
I mean almost killing me didn't count but there has to be something else he wanted to do to make sure that I would get it so it would be clear that I stole from Seraphina even though that isn't even true.
I was escorted to the Alphas main hall and it was going to be one of the worst things that I would be going through now and there wasn't going to be a way for me to tell him that I wasn't the one.
“I told you she was faking it, there was no way the whip would kill her…even though she has a frail body there isn't going to be a way that someone would die from it.”
Seraphina spoke up, chirping like a canary that lost its way in the night. I shot her a deadly gaze knowing that I was going through all this because she wanted to have fun and I was going to be her victim.
“I didn't take your jewelry, I wouldn't have any use for it and you know it!” I barked back, my eyes were glaring at her and I wasn't going to stand there and let it hurt me.
“Ahh she is trying to act like there is going to be a chance for you to even get something down? You are as guilty as they come, I don't know what or who would want to listen to you. You broke in there and…”
“That is enough Seraphina,” the Alpha spoke up, I was shocked to hear his voice looking at them knowing that there wasn't going to be anything that they do now that would surprise me.
“I know you must be angry but there has to be something that I would do to make sure that no one would get out hurt or treated unjustly.”
Is this man serious?
“I know you must have many things to say, but I am not about to give you the benefit of the doubt that you aren't trying to do something gnarly. So I would like it if you told me where you kept the jewelry and I will be happy to let you go,”
Turns out that he wasn't joking, and I was looking at someone who is able to think like a child.
“For the last time, I didn't take anything from her. I didn't steal any jewelry and I never will! She is trying to make me look like the bad one here and you are turning a blind eye to it!”
Something shifted, my voice was now a bit louder, strange….it felt like I had gotten a boost from someone and I was trying to hold it in.
“You know you are standing in front of the Alpha? There isn't going to be an easy way out of this, you must be a fool to—”
“You're the fool, you are the biggest fool I have seen Seraphina and I will always say this that there isn't going to be anything that would stop me from saying that you are the worst type of idiot I have!”
“Silence!”
The Alpha cut me short, I wasn't done yet and I didn't know if I was going to be stopping there knowing that the rage in my heart was bigger than anything that they would imagine.
“I called you here to make sure that you would stand and free from what you put yourself in and you think that the best way out is talking to her like that? There isn't going to be a chance for you to walk away! I will make your life hell and you won't be able to shake it off!”
He sounded like he was bitter, staring at me with pure hate in his eyes.
“I don't see you doing anything different, I am going to take it and you won't be able to hurt me more than what you have done already.”
I didn't want to back down knowing that there was a chance that they would be able to be stopped before they would think of doing anything but it was going to be hard to see anyone who would be willing to speak on my behalf and I knew that there wasn't going to be a way out of this.
“You talk back to him like that? He is even thinking of giving you mercy but yet you don't see it do you?” She kept chirping, I didn't know what was worse.
Them calling their barbaric nature mercy or her talking like there was no use for her there and I was trying to get my head through what was going on.
He was staring at me, I knew that there wasn't going to be a thing that would save me now and I wasn't going to be running from it.
“Lyra, I see that you have forgotten where you are standing. But I will have to make sure that I jug your memory. You will be branded as a thief in the pack and there isn't going to be—”
The doors of the hall opened, and standing there was Elias.
He was standing there glaring at us like there was something about to happen.
“You aren't going to pass that judgement!”
