CHAPTER 25

Alexei sighed as he rubbed his palms over his forehead. He groaned as he sat up slowly in bed.. He winced as the light from his window hit him. His wolf had been relentless as it bounded against Ig's skull.

He guessed that it didn't enjoy the thought of him deciding not to allow it to frustrate him but rather to continue to follow their women. His wolf found it almost insulting, and he knew that he was right, but he couldn't continue to play the strings of a little girl, one that was weak and feeble.

His thoughts drifted back to the night before, when he had seen with his own eyes how right his suspicions were. He knew that the girl would be trouble and that they would allow for rebellion to endure, but he hadn't thought that they would have come quick on the first night.

The sweets that he had fed them were to evoke their emotions and leave them vulnerable. When they were mixed with the contents of the soul he had given as well, they allowed the person to spill all their darkest secrets. It was very convenient, and he had managed to catch one of them.

.

He knew for a fact that there were more, but he would find them as the trial continued. Each of the girls had their own agenda for being there, but what they didn't know was that he wasn't simply bringing them; they would then face trial either way, but he wanted to use them to look into the kingdom. He wanted to see where their bonds had weakened and where he couldn't sense any noticeable threats. Once he was able to find the weeds, he would be able to pull them out swiftly and without remorse.

For him, there was no room for weaknesses. He slowly got up from his bed as he stretched out his muscles. Today was the Day of the interview, and although he wasn't one to engage his people in such acts of public display, he wanted to see what a certain girl would do when put On the spot. It would be interesting for her to see him squirm and be left uncomfortable under his people's gaze.

They were eunabpolifetic, and they were cicious when they sensed weakness. He was one of them. In fact, he was the epitome of them all. He despised weaknesses, and that girl who was said to Be his mate was the very embodiment of the word. He didn't want to be a liability, and yet there she was in every bit of it.

He didn't want to have to worry about how she would survive the next day, and he knew there was a chance that one day she would come and take his kindness for granted. He didn't want that, and he wasn't willing to take his chances. He knew that his uncle had done his duty, but he wasn't like him. He was smarter than him, and he wasn't going to be so easily fooled by a pretty face and some change.

He was pulled out of his thoughts, and he finished getting ready after taking his bath. He heard a knock on his door as he made his way towards it. He let out a sigh as he pulled it open to reveal a grinning mason.

"So hoe was a stout trip. I hear that you have declared a girl as your mate, but I am guessing you haven't told your subjects because if you have them to wound, he would have the trials, would you". He said to him as he pulled away from the door in response as he let out a sigh from his lips.

"Is there anything you wish to say?" He asked him, and he looked toward him with a raised eyebrow. He watched as his eyes widened and his mouth formed into an O.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. The generals wish to have a meaninon order to declare what you think about the thoughts or rebels rising also about you and whether you will proceed with the lion trial". He said to him:

.

He watched as he let out a sigh from his lips and shook his head at him with a sigh. "You know that I already told you that I would do it on my own terms. I have it handled, and I do not require you or any other general to hover over me and tell me what to do. I can make my own decisions". He said it to him in a hissing tone. He watched as he didn't seem glossed over by his outburst, as he only looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Are you done? And you can tell them you have handled it just like you handled the situation your mate handled, and you're sure you know what you are doing". He said it to him, and he felt a slight shudder through him. He knew that he was right, but he wasn't going to let him see that.

"I have it under control, and I would have more control over it if you and she left me alone." He soat.

He watched as he smiled before shaking his head. "One day your persona will slip, and you will realize that you are weak".
