Chapter 67

Chapter 67
Marie’s POV

I woke up to find myself in a tight dark space, I Could feel pain in my side and my head. For a brief moment I didn’t know what had happened. Then it came rushing back to me.

I was hunting and waiting for a signal from Bliss, I thought he was delaying but just then an arrow went through my side and I came crashing to the ground. As I lay on the floor I could feel hands; hands that had fur on them, they grabbed me and stuffed me in a bag. I didn’t know who they were, I couldn’t smell them because of that stupid scent mask and they didn’t speak so I couldn’t capture their voices. So in short I didn’t know where I was, or who had done this to me. I blacked out and woke again tied up in an unknown place.

Was Bliss okay? He must be in some sort of trouble too, oh no! How do I get out of here? I tried to listen attentively to my surroundings and it sounded like I was on a ship.

I could hear the water, the waves, I could feel the movement and I just knew I was on a ship. I began to wiggle my body to alert those around. The bag felt like it had been taped to my body. Though I was injured, I managed to breathe fire onto the bag and burn a part of the bag and found myself on the deck of a cargo ship.

I had been placed in a stupid box. I angrily blew fire on it and a wave of sea breeze hit me in the face, I looked around and noticed that the ship had sailed away from Silvermoon and now it looked like a tiny dot on a piece of paper. I sat up and gasped.

Then I looked down wondering how to jump onto the deck without hurting myself.

“Hey you!” A voice called out, I turned around and about 3 men were standing on the bridge with one of them pointing at me.
“What are you doing there?” He screamed, “how did you get there?”

If I knew, I wouldn’t be here in the first place. They needed to help me instead of asking stupid questions.

“I don’t know!” I screamed back but my body reeled in pain, one of them started to climb the boxes and shipped containers to get to where I was. He paused to observe my injured side that was bloodstained.

“Camouflage, injuries, are you from Silvermoon?” He asked.
“Yes yes yes… Can you take me back?”

He shook his head, “we have already sailed with goods, we can’t turn around, you would have to get off at the next harbor.”
My goodness, and how long will it take me to get back without Bliss? What kind of mess had I gotten myself into?

“I will suggest that you see a doctor the moment we land.” He said to me but that wound was the least of my worries. How on earth do I get back to Silvermoon? My keepsake, my servant and almost all my belongings were there.

“How far is the next town from Silvermoon?”

“Erm, let’s see, 4 days by sea, 10 hours by flight and 2 days by car.”
“So how many days do we have till we get to this Harbor?”

“1 and half days more.”
“One and half?” I shrieked.

I can’t wait that long, that is messed up, I have to leave now. This must be a bad dream or something. I tried jumping off the container into the sea but the man grabbed me. I was injured and in pain else I would have burned him to death.

With the help of the men they lifted me off the deck and sent me to the cabin, I was struggling and hurling curses at them but that didn’t stop them from chaining me to a bed and trying to heal my wounds.

They stripped me off my camouflage and I burned with rage but I shouldn’t have been mad, they were trying to help me. I yelped in pain as they pulled out the broken half of the arrowhead which was stuck in my side.

“Who was trying to kill you? Sheesh” one of them remarked as my wounds got dressed.

His question got me thinking about the right things, like who was behind this attack? It must have been that damned queen! Warren has no reason to do this to me, and if it was him, he would have ended me without any mercy. Ivan would have done the same since they were the only two that openly opposed my entry to Silvermoon. They were also the only two that knew I wasn’t one of them aside from the king but they didn’t seem bothered by my presence.

Scarlett on the other hand didn’t like my existence, she saw me as a rival; an opponent. It was her! She did this! Nobody could change my mind.

“Can’t you give me a boat so I can be on my way?” I inquired of them but they shook their heads.

“A boat won’t get you far on these raging waves, that’s like signing your death warrant.”
“It’s a suicide mission, another one added.”

The more they held me captive, the angrier I got at Scarlett, I had been too lenient with her. I should’ve killed her from the start. My head was spinning with all the crazy things I would do to her if I got back.

If she’s lucky, I will send her packing from the pack house, if she was not I would tear her to pieces and spread her body across the pack. She started this war but I will make sure to finish it, maybe she will think twice the next time she tries to do something as stupid as this! I will make her regret ever doing this to me or even crossing paths with me.
