Chapter 34
Chapter 34
Dwight’s POV
“Love, can we do it now?” I asked my wife with a big grin. What? We’re married—so we can do it whenever we want.
As soon as we arrived at the Pack House, we headed straight to our room. We were all exhausted, but when it comes to my wife, I always have time.
“Don’t talk to me, Dwight—I’m busy,” she said while fixing our bed. After dinner, all the Pack members had gone back to their respective houses surrounding the Main House. The others who lived here went straight to their rooms.
I laid Darren down on his bed next to ours. As for Selene’s brother and Rose, we placed them in the room with Lester since all unmated Weres here sleep in the same quarters.
“Come on, love! This is the reward I want from you after we saved our son,” I said, giving her my best puppy-dog eyes and a pout. I know she can’t resist my charms.
She chuckled and sat on the edge of the bed. I sat next to her, gently caressed her cheek, and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. I lifted her and placed her on my lap.
I stared at the face of the woman I love. Geez! Even just her sigh makes Dwight Jr. go wild.
“I’ll never get tired of looking at this beautiful sight,” I said seriously, kissing her forehead, then her nose, and finally her soft lips. I cupped her lips in my hand.
These addicting lips drive me crazy every single time. I buried my nose in the crook of her neck. Her intoxicating scent made my wolf go insane.
“I love your smell, love,” I whispered, taking in her scent.
“I know… because it’s yours too,” she replied seductively.
“That’s it! Take our mate now!” Light, my wolf, screamed in my head—and I couldn’t hold back anymore.
I shifted our position. Now I was on top of her, kissing her passionately. After giving her lips the attention they deserved, I slowly trailed my kisses—along her jaw, between her breasts, down to her collarbone—and stopped at the mark I left on her neck.
I peppered small kisses over my mark. My mate moaned and groaned. Man, I am so whipped. I love hearing her voice—especially when she screams my name. Her hands roamed across my chest and slid lower under my pajamas.
I was just about to remove her negligee when—
Knock knock.
“Shit!” I heard my mate curse. I swore in my head too. Who the hell interrupts at a time like this?
One word: bitin. (Interrupted.)
“This better be important,” I said, clearly frustrated.
Selene fixed herself before we opened the door for whoever ruined our moment.
I was ready to cut off the head of this parasite… or not?
Because when Selene opened the door, there stood Darren—our son—with a huge smile, like he knew what we were doing. I smacked my forehead.
Maybe Lester and Rose taught him those things.
“What do you want, baby?” Selene asked sweetly, lifting him up.
“You little party crasher,” I whispered under my breath. Selene gave me a death glare. I knew it.
I shut my mouth. Honestly, I'm completely under my mate's control, even though I'm the more possessive one.
But my love for her outweighs everything else. And I know she’d never leave me.
“Mom, Mishtey and Uncle Lestey fought in the kitchen,” Darren mumbled sleepily as he yawned.
Selene looked at me, clearly worried. I frowned.
“What?”
She slapped her forehead. “Didn’t you get it? Darren said Crater and Lester are fighting downstairs!” she shrieked.
My brain finally kicked in—and I ran straight to the kitchen.
Just my luck! Why the hell are those two fighting?
When I arrived, the kitchen was a complete disaster—trash and food everywhere.
What the hell? Who did this to my house?!
“My house is a mess! Who did this?!” I shouted in my Alpha tone.
My voice echoed through all four corners of the Pack House—enough to make anyone jump in fear.
Then I heard coughing to my left. I turned and saw the two culprits who trashed my kitchen. They looked like pigs eating at the table.
Lester was choking a bit, still biting into some bacon. Selene’s brother, Crater, was drinking straight from the water pitcher.
Seriously? Do we not have any glasses?
“Tsk. How long has it been since you two last ate?” Selene asked, holding Darren on her hip. Rose and Keira were also there, yawning.
Did they fall asleep early?
“I haven’t had a proper meal in three months. I don’t know about this idiot,” Crater muttered.
Lester rubbed his belly. “Tss, I didn’t eat for days either,” he added.
Selene grabbed a chair and sat down beside her brother. I took the seat next to her too. The two girls sat beside Lester.
“So what was Darren saying about you two fighting?” Rose asked through a yawn.
We all wanted to know what happened—and why the kitchen looked like hell.
“Well, I woke up and found him in my room. I panicked and punched him. I thought he was a gay guy sneaking into my room,” Selene’s brother explained.
Lester scoffed. “Can you blame me for being surprised? Women—and even some gay guys—chase me,” he said smugly.
I sighed. “Then why the mess?”
They both threw up peace signs.
“We don’t know how to cook… so this happened.”
Okay. That explains it. Now… can I go back to my mate and pick up where we left off?
Ouch!
“Why’d you pinch me?” I blurted out.
“Later, okay? I still have a lot of questions for my brother,” she said.
I just nodded—even though inside, I felt like a pouting child.
“Hurry up, okay?” I said through the mind link.
She rolled her eyes. Damn, she’s cute when she does that.
“Crater, do you realize the trouble you’re in?” she asked her brother seriously. Silence fell.
Crater nodded and looked his sister in the eye.
“When I escaped from Mom to come here, I already knew what I was risking. I wanted to see you both. I wanted to help—even if it meant putting myself in danger. I know I haven’t seen you in a hundred years, but you two are still my sisters. I love you both so much, and I will protect you—even if it costs me my life,” he said emotionally.
I saw Selene’s shoulders shake. I looked at her—she was whimpering. Tears were falling. Rose was tougher, but Selene…
She’s delicate. She’s the sunshine in our lives.
“Thank you, Crater. I love you too, brother,” she whispered and wrapped her arms around him.
You’re not alone, Crater. I’ll protect our family too. You’re my family now—and family doesn’t leave each other.
Even the others teared up at the heartfelt reunion.
Rose stood up and joined the hug.
“Waaah! You’re squishing me!” Darren pouted in the middle of the triplet hug.
“Alright! Group hug it is!” our son shouted happily.
We all laughed at his adorable reaction.
Suddenly, the kitchen door burst open—John appeared, dripping in sweat.
He’s always missing when we need him!
“Looks like you’re all having fun,” he said as he entered.
Where the hell did he come from at this hour? One of the Pack rules is: no wandering around alone.
I ignored his question and shot one of my own.
“Where did you go, Beta?”
“I just let my wolf out for a bit, Alpha. He was getting restless,” he replied.
