Chapter 56 - The Alpha’s Goddess
~CALLIE’S P.O.V~
I woke up in the most beautiful room. Rubbing my eyes adjusting to the lighting. I lay on a circular bed, under satin sheets. My body feels more relaxed than it’s ever been. I pull the covers off, tiptoeing out of the bed. My gown hit the floor. I make my way to the door as it opens before me.
“Good morning, your highness.” A lady in black and white bowed before me.
This must be a dream, a fairytale. I walked out into the hallways where I saw a balcony. I walked a little more out and looked over, realizing I was in a legit castle. “Oh miss, come back in, you’re in your undergarments.” The little petite woman said.
“Oh, I’m sorry, it’s just- where am I?” I asked, a little confused.
“Oh, you’re home.” Home. Home. Where is home? Actually… “Who am I?” I ask, realizing I have no idea who I am.
“You’re Lady Railynn.” The maid says with a smile, “You’re the wife of the most feared warlock madam.” Oh wow.
“Why don’t I remember anything other than I am a goddess?”
“Oh, Sir Jakus says you hit your head on your honeymoon and suffered a concussion and short-term amnesia. But the doctors say you’ll gain a full recovery soon.”
“Where is my husband?”
“I will escort you to him, but first let’s get you dressed. Okay?”
I nod, acknowledging her, she then starts to lay out the clothes I’m expected to wear today. I quickly got showered and dressed. “What is your name?”
“Oh, I’m the help.” She responds.
“The help is not your name though, right?”
“Well, my parents named me Ingrid. But Sir Jakus says we are named ‘the help’, every one of us servers.”
“Oh, Can I call you Ingrid?” I asked.
A smile spreads across her face as she bobs her head up and down.
Why would I marry a man who treats his employees so badly?
“So where did you work before I moved in?”
“Oh, before I was assigned to you, I was assigned to the son, the um sonnets. Yeah, I had to keep up with the sonnets for the um parties.”
“They read sonnets at parties?”
“Sometimes for entertainment and stuff.” She says as her eyes shine with fear as she has just given private information.
“Um okay.”
“I will go get your jewelry for tonight. Would you like pearls or diamonds? “
“What’s tonight?” I asked, knowing she was averting the conversation. She was acting very suspicious when it came to what they did at parties. Like she was covering her tracks.
“Oh, nothing crazy, just a slow introduction dinner. Only family and friends will be attending. Sir Jakus thinks a big crowd would be overwhelming right now.”
That makes sense, seeing how I am already overwhelmed and a big group asking me questions that I cannot answer sounds horrifying.
We had a short chat for the remainder of the time I got ready. Ingrid told me about her parents and her little brothers and how she was an only child for a long time and got used to working alongside her family. They sounded close. I wonder if my family is close like that?
“Okay Madam Railynn, it's time for dinner. Sir Jakus asked me to escort you to the dining hall.” Ingrid said as she placed the headpiece on top of my head.
“Very well.” I stood up doing a once over.
Woah. I looked like Cinderella, so elegant. I wore a poofy blue ball gown, my long blonde hair cascading down my back, diamonds, and a tiara. I felt like a princess like I was in a real-life fairytale.
“May I ask where we are?” I asked Ingrid as we walked down the empty hall.
“We are in our own world. It’s called Loveleon. It was named after Sir Jakus’s childr-child. It was named after his child, it’s in another dimension.”
She did that weird eye thing again as she slipped up. Odd.
I could feel this weird pull as we walked past a big oak door. Room 220. I wonder what’s in that room. My insides begged me to go in there.
“Madam. We must continue, that room is off-limits to everyone, including you. Sir Jakus’s orders.”
“Please, it's Railynn.” I say with a smile, “Formalities don’t feel like my thing.” She smiles but it quickly fades as she looks at her wristwatch.
‘4 minutes, astonishing.’ She mutters under her breath.
“What is?” I asked, confused.
“Oh nothing, here drink this. Doctor's orders, it is for you to heal appropriately after that big concussion.” I took the drink and drank it, my head not feeling as tight anymore, it felt like someone was bagging on the walls of it.
“Wow, it helps with the migraine.”
“That’s what it is made for.” She says with a smile.
We continued walking down the hallway. I turned to look back at room 220 before turning down another hall and it vanished. I’m going to have to go back there. It may be off limits; however, curiosity overpowers a rule.
“Here we are.” She says as she opens the huge ceiling-to-floor doors. I saw a handsome man no older than 30 at the head of the table with a huge smile plastered on his face. That must be my husband. I have very fine taste.
I walk over as my chair gets pulled out for me.
“Thank you,” I said to the butler as he bowed, then walked away.
“Your home is very lovely.” I decided to say this to break the tension in the room.
“Our home.” My husband corrects as he looks at the guest sitting among us.
“Right, we are married. Our home is very lovely.” I corrected myself. I’m already slipping up and showing I can’t remember a thing.
“I’m glad you think so. It was made just for you.” I saw Ingrid lean down and whisper into my husband's ear. I try to focus on what was being whispered.
‘She is gaining her memory faster than him, sir.’
‘How much faster?’
‘Well, Leonidas has been down every 3 minutes since her arrival, and she is right behind him at 4 minutes.’
He looked up while I focused on the food in front of me, acting like I didn’t hear a thing. Leonidas, I like that name.
‘Help me’ I hear echoes in my mind randomly making me jump because of the intrusion.
“You alright, my love?”
“Oh yes, I was just frightened. A bug scurried across the floor.” I said, looking up to see Jakus looking suspiciously at me.
“That won’t do!” Jakus yells as he snaps his fingers.
“I need this place sprayed for bugs immediately. Do you hear me?!”
As his orders echo across the room, I see butlers and maids scurry off to get it done. He really treated these poor people badly.
“Alice, how long has it been?” He asks Ingrid.
“Um, 3 minutes sir. And it’s Ingrid.”
“Right, sorry. Ingrid, will you bring my wife her special champagne.” He orders as he clangs his spoon on his glass. What the hell, he thinks he is high class, doesn’t he?
Faster than I could even judge his behavior, I had a glass of bubbling champagne in my hand.
“A toast to us,” Jakus says as a few people raise their glasses around the table.
People I still don’t recognize. I raise my glass, copying the others as Jakus makes his toast.
Just as the rim touches my lips. I heard the voice again. ‘Don’t drink!’ Almost making me spill my drink, making Jakus look over at me again.
“I’m sorry I’m feeling fatigued and a bit jumpy. Could I call it a night, my love?”
“Of course, finish your drink and go on to bed. Alice will be up shortly to help you get into bed. And give you your nightly medicine. You know the way, right?”
I nodded my head. He then turns his head to talk to Ingrid and I dumped the remainder of the liquid out.
“Alice, may I have a moment after my wife goes to bed, in the office?”
“Sorry to cut the night short, it was a pleasure. Please excuse me.” I curtsy to the guests and excuse myself from the table.
“Ahah, not without my goodnight kiss.” Jakus intervenes.
Oh right, husband. Which means I will probably kiss him.
I walk over to the head of the table to kiss his cheek, he turns his head as I lean down, capturing my lips with his. He deepens the kiss as he pulls me closer with his hand on my buttocks. I feel disgusted. His touch feels wrong.
“I can’t wait to have my cock buried so deep in you. I can’t wait to make you scream and cum underneath me. I want my sperm impregnating your eggs the first time we fuck. So, I won’t take you tonight, but I will when you’re most fertile. The blood moon will pass, and your heat will come, that’s when I will fuck you senseless.” A chill ran down my spine at the thought. And not in a good way.
Jakus releases his grip and I curtsy once more before exiting the dining hall. Stopping just outside of the door to try and listen in as I regain my bearings.
“She needs to be hooked up to an IV. We can say she has cancer.” I heard the little woman say.
“That may work. Good thinking. Get that ass to my office, I’ll reward you for being such a good girl.” I hear a smack and a giggle before footsteps approach the door. I quickly hid in a small hide-a-hole in the hall so that I wouldn't be seen. Lucky for me, they aren’t wolves and therefore cannot smell me.
I watched Ingrid walk north down the hallway and open a door as she pulled her top off. A moment later, my husband comes out the door following the maid as he begins unbuckling his belt.
We haven’t been married long, and from what he says we have yet to mate, why is he already being unfaithful? I want to go give him a piece of my mind, I want to storm in there and cause a scene. I wanted to curse at the maid that was just putting a tiara in my hair not even 10 minutes prior and helping me into my dress.
I will my body to do just that. I marched down the hall and right up to the door. I raise my hand to the doorknob as my heart starts fluttering. Do I want to open the door and witness my husband fuck another girl? But could I just stop him? Soon I started to hear moans and groans. A shiver runs down my spine. If I stopped them, then he’d expect me to fulfill those duties and that doesn’t sit right with me. It should be seeing how he is my husband, but it just doesn’t.
“You kept this pussy tight for Daddy, didn’t you, little whore?”
“Yes, Daddy! I didn’t open my legs for not one man while you were away. I promise I saved it only for you!” “Oh, Daddy, yes! I missed your cock!”
“Are you still drinking that potion I gave you?”
“Yes, Daddy! You can empty your seed deep in my womb, no babies will be created. I drank the potion.”
“Good girl Alice.”
Good lord! He can’t even say her name right during sex! He is terrible. A terrible husband and obviously a terrible lover. I can’t listen to this anymore, all I hear is moans and groans along with slaps as their skin smacks together. Along with maybe his hand spanking her ass? I’m not sure, I don’t honestly even care, maybe that’s just our relationship.
Maybe we are just in an open relationship. It doesn’t seem like I’m that type of gal, but it doesn’t matter, I’m done listening and I am no longer mad, I don’t even care. The emotion has passed. I must not be in love with my husband.
I turned around as more moans escaped from under the door of his office and started walking back to my room, which was in the opposite direction from where they were fucking. Thank goddess. The moans were starting to annoy me.
As I walk down the hall, I get that feeling in my gut again before I hear it. ‘Help me’. The voice sounds desperate, and I feel a deep desire to help. ‘Go help.’ Emery begs. She has been so quiet since we woke up. Now all of a sudden, she wanted to talk, she sounded just as desperate as the voice did.
I turned the corner and room 220 came into view again. I stop in front of it as I place my hand on the doorknob. I look both ways before I decide to just do it, turning the doorknob.
The door creaks open as a bed comes into view. Laying on the bed was the body of one of the most gorgeous men I have ever seen. His hair slicked back, black as can be, his eyes closed while his skin shone a porcelain tone. He looked like a literal god. I walked closer to get a better look. He was attached to an IV pole. Is this what they wanted to do to me?
I reached up to read the bag. I had never heard of it before. God, I wished Jade was here right now. She would know, she was a premed student. Wait, I remembered something! Holy shit, not drinking that drink helped me. What if I stopped this medicine? Would it help him too? I looked back down at his non-moving body.
I walked around the room examining it. The room wasn’t impressive, not like my room down the hall. His room looks as if it has never seen the sunlight. Come to think of it, he looks like he has never seen sunlight. His skin was almost as white as a vampire's skin tone would be. I look around and see small pictures of what looks like a child's drawing. I read one aloud “xoxo your big sissy, Lovett.”
Why does that name sound so familiar? I sat the picture back down and walked back to the bed to see the sleeping form of the man again.
Who are you and why are you in this room, alone, and hooked up to this machine? I moved closer to get a better look. When I got closer, my heart started to flutter.
‘Help me.’ I heard again as the not-so-comatose body reached up, grabbing my arm.
I panicked, reaching over to grab his arm to pull it off of me. As soon as my hand touched his arm, I got flashes of a little boy playing and singing. Then more flashes of my husband yelling at him, switching to more flashes of him beating the boy for refusing to assist with something. Then I got a flash of him drinking blood.
I let go, my eyes looking up to see the man in a sitting position, his eyes boring into my neck. I could literally hear my blood pulsating in my veins.
He rips the iv from his arm.
“This may sound crazy, but I need your blood, I’m sorry this may hurt.” He says as he tilts my head to the side, his fangs penetrating deep into my skin right over my mate’s mark. It felt good. No, it felt phenomenal. What the fuck?
No, this isn’t right, I have a mate, but why does this feel so natural and why am I enjoying it?
He releases me from his grip, I stumbled backward a little as he stables me, a little dizzy from the loss of blood.
“Sorry, I hope I didn’t hurt you.” He says as he wipes his mouth, blood drizzling from the sides. My blood.
He looks up as our eyes meet for the first time. He has beautiful lavender eyes. God, they’re so beautiful.
‘FINAL MATE’ I heard my wolf howl. WHAT THE HELL DID SHE JUST SAY!?
‘He completes our trio mate-ship. 1.) Lust aka Jax, 2.) Passion aka Gunner, and 3.) Commitment aka Him.’
‘But Jax is evil and rejected us, he tried to rape us.’
‘That may be true, but doesn’t take away from what he is, he is still our 1 of 3. You cannot have lust without passion and cannot have passion without commitment. All three together create balance. We don’t have to mate with Jax or accept him. We met him, so that was balanced. However, without the other 2 mates, we would not be fulfilled. We need at least both mates 2 and 3 to be completely fulfilled. You just have to meet all 3 before you’re balanced equally.’ I look around confused before Emery starts in again. ‘Jax offers nothing to stabilize us, he is just a wolf, like our Gunner. Therefore, Gunner can fulfill what Jax could’ve too. But for us to be whole, you had to experience what he offered. It’s confusing, I know.’
‘Why didn’t you tell me this before?’
‘You weren’t ready, actually, you’re barely ready now, but fate said screw being ready and threw us in it headfirst.’
‘What exactly do you know that you’re still keeping from me, Emery?’
‘You’re the goddess, you need different loves to balance you. You need a wolf to calm, well, me, and a warlock to balance your magic.’
‘And the part vampire?’ I asked since she was avoiding the question of what else she knew.
‘I haven’t figured that out yet. But I’m sure there’s a reason. There’s always a reason.’
“Hello love, my name is Leonidas.” His husky, deep yet sexy voice speaks, interrupting me and Emery’s conversation. Instantly making my heart do this flip inside my chest.
Wait! No, this isn’t right! Second-chance mates were unheard of, but 3 mates? No, something is wrong, something is very very wrong!
There isn’t even a legend known to our kind regarding 3 mates because 2 were never even known to be real until recently. What am I going to tell Gunner? What do I even say?
‘Hey babe, so we are a throuple now, Meet my 3rd mate.’ I don’t see that going over so well.
Why does my life steadily get more confusing? This didn’t happen to the previous moon goddess, did it? Probably not since she killed herself. So why is it happening to me?
‘Because it is our destiny, a destiny moon goddess Leanne didn’t have. We were born to right the wrongs, to take charge, and to be the ruler. That is our destiny.’ Emery says with a wag to her tail.
I gulp, knowing everything is about to be different, again. And I’m not sure how I feel about it. I looked up to meet his beautiful eyes once again. His complexion, although still pasty white, has some color to it now. He looks like he wasn’t just comatose a moment before. He looks, well, drop-dead gorgeous.
Another plot twist added to my already confusing life. Great.
“Do you remember me?” The man before me asks, pulling me from my thoughts.
I don’t recall ever meeting him, but then again, a lot is still fuzzy. Do I remember him?
