Chapter 216 Kaden's POV

Chapter 216 Kaden's POV

I kept the surveillance on Elara watching her movements. Making sure she was where she said she was.

Three days after Elara's revelation, Marcus came to my office looking shaken.

"Alpha. We have a situation. My patrol encountered someone on the eastern border."

"Who?"

"That is the thing. It looked exactly like Luna. Same face, same hair, same build. But it wasn't her. Couldn't have been. Luna was in a council meeting when this happened. I verified her location."

"What did this person do?"

"We attacked and fought with incredible skill. Used dark magic I've never seen before. She took down three of my best warriors before disappearing into the forest."

"Did you try to capture her?"

"We tried but she was too fast, too skilled. And the magic-”

He shook his head. "It was like nothing I have encountered. She created shadows that moved independently and used darkness as a weapon."

"Did she say anything? Give any indication of her identity or purpose?"

"She laughed. When I asked who she was, she just laughed and said, Tell my sister I'm coming then she vanished. Literally disappeared into the shadows."

My blood ran cold. "Tell my sister I'm coming."

She knew Elara was actively seeking her out.

"Double perimeter guards. I want warriors on high alert. Anyone who sees this woman is to report immediately but not engage. She is  too dangerous."

"Should we tell Luna?"

"I will tell her you focus on keeping the pack safe."

After Marcus left, I sat there trying to process everything.

Elara's twin was real, powerful, dangerous and coming for her. Whether for reunion or revenge, I didn't know but it was happening. Soon.

Damian returned that evening with his research findings.

"The prophecy predates the Silvercrest pack by centuries. It's been recorded in various forms across different pack histories."

"What exactly does it say?"

"The full prophecy is When shadow and light are born as one, when twin souls walk beneath the crescent moon, they shall wield power beyond measure.”

“United, they will either save all packs from eternal darkness, or destroy them in shadow and flame. Separate, they are incomplete. Together, they are unstoppable. The choice between salvation and destruction lies in their hearts, not their blood.'"

"The choice lies in their hearts. So it's not predetermined? Not one twin destined for good and one for evil?"

"Correct. The prophecy suggests both twins have the capacity for both salvation and destruction. It's their choices, their actions, their unity or division that determines the outcome."

"And the Silvercrest elders interpreted this as one twin being evil?"

"They focused on the line about shadow and light. Assumed shadow meant evil and light meant good. But that is not what the prophecy actually says."

Elara, who had been listening silently, spoke up. "So my parents abandoned Nyx for nothing. The prophecy doesn't say she is evil. It just says she carries shadow power while I carry light."

"Exactly. Shadow isn't inherently evil it is just the absence of light, darkness, night. Rest. Things that are neutral or even necessary."

"Then we separated for nothing. She grew up alone and probably suffering for nothing. Because of a misinterpretation."

"I'm sorry, Elara. But yes that appears to be what happened."

Elara stood abruptly. "I need to find her. Talk to her. Explain that it wasn't supposed to happen this way. That the prophecy doesn't mean what they thought it meant."

"She might not want to talk," I warned.

"She might want revenge. Or to prove the prophecy right by choosing destruction."

"Then I have to convince her otherwise. Have to show her that together we can choose salvation instead."

"And if she has already chosen destruction? If she's too damaged, too angry, too far gone?"

Elara's expression hardened. "Then I will do whatever I have to do to protect our pack. Even if that means stopping my own sister."

The determination in her eyes reminded me why I had fallen in love with her. This strength. This willingness to make hard choices.

But I also saw the pain there. The grief for a sister she'd never known. A twin who should have been beside her all along.

"We will face this together," I said.

"Whatever your sister wants. Whatever she is  planning, we will handle it together."

"Together," She agreed.

But in the back of my mind, I wondered if together would be enough.

If two people could stop a prophecy that had been set in motion fifteen years ago.

If salvation was still possible when so much damage had already been done.

Only time would tell and time was running out. Marcus's encounter proved that. Nyx wasn't hiding anymore. I wasn't watching from the shadows.

She was making her presence known. Making her move. And soon, very soon, the twin sisters would meet face to face.

And when they did, the prophecy would begin to unfold, for salvation or destruction we just had to hope we could influence which direction it went.

Before it was too late to change course before the choice was made for us.

Before shadow and light collided in a way that would change everything forever.
