Chapter 65: I'm worthless

The day I chase the alpha from Dr. Charles's home. I went by my window, and I saw him standing outside in the rain. I quickly move back my curtain and went back to lay down. The alpha didn't want to accept my rejection. I didn't care he didn't anyway. I was never going to take him back.

"Nala, I'm going to go to the store will you be alright here alone?" the doctor inquires me.

"Yes, " I answer laying on my bed.

"Okay, I will be back very soon."

"Hmm..," I again answer and as he went off.

I remain to lay down, sadly.

"What I'm I going to do without you mom?" I cry.

I didn't want to stay within this land anymore. I hated it. I too didn't want to be anywhere where the two evil alphas were. I needed to leave this land now, but where would I go, returning to the forest will not be safe for me.

I heard a loud knock on the door downstairs. I immediately sat up.

"Why can't he leave me the hell alone," I said angrily.

Alpha Anton was starting to get on my nerves. His dad kills my father and he helps his dad end my mom leaving me an orphan. Why the hell does he think I will forgive him and run back to him. I know he was a victim of his father's evil plan, but all his action was his. His father never told him to hurt me and throw me and my mom in jail. He did all of it on his own and I will never forgive him. I wanted a new life of happiness that's what my mom wants for me. I am not going to disappoint my parents by taking him as my mate. I don't want him within my life.

The door continues to knock but harder. I cover my ears angrily trying to block out the noise of the sound downstairs. I started to become very eager for the doctor to return. I didn't feel safe knowing that the evil bitch was outside.

My ears soon hurt by too much pressure from my hand, but still, I couldn't block away the sound from him.

My hand swiftly moves away from my ears, and I suddenly heard a cry along with the continuously knocking. It was not alpha Anton; it was a female crying for help.

"Doctor, please save my daughter!" I heard her shout.

My mind went back to being in the cell and crying for the guard and alpha Anton to save my mom from dying. I found myself jumping out of my bed by the awful painful thought. I ran downstairs in no time and open the door. As I did, I saw a lady with a young she-wolf within her hand that looks like nine or six. She seems very young.

She immediately came into the house. Her hands' trembles as she holds the child in white clothes covered in blood. The poor child seems to have a terrible injury.

"Please help me save my daughter!" she cried to me.

"Come," I told her quickly as I hurriedly move into the room the doctor treated all his patients. I instruct her to place the child on the small bed. I run from the room instantly as I did. I open the front door and start to spin like a gig moving in and out of the house, wondering what to do. I couldn't save her I knew nothing about helping an injured wolf and I was clueless about when Dr. Charles would return home.

I begin to cry.

"Please help me, she's dying," the lady runs into the hallway begging me.

My right-hand runs through my hair. I couldn't tell her that I could not save her child.

I turn away from her ready to run outside. Soon I stopped seeing the doctor. He had returned.

"Dr. Charles," I call him frighteningly.

The lady run towards the door and started to cry to the doctor.

Dr. Charles drops the bag and immediately run into the room where her daughter was.

I went over to the stairs and sat downing crying. I felt so weak. I begin to worry what if Dr. Charles didn't come in time. Her daughter would have died just like I had allowed my mom to. I started to hate myself. I detested that I could save no one nor myself. I didn't want to continue to live this way within the world. I wanted to too help someone, anyone. I wanted to be strong.

Dr. Charles wasn't as strong as the alpha but at least he could save a life and he didn't have to use his fist. I couldn't fight nor save anyone. I was truly worthless. I soon felt no better than a piece of shit lying on the ground. I was only here to mess up people's life that was all.

I wipe away my tears and remain to sit on the step of stairs, waiting to see if the child had survived. It soon felt like hours. My head lowers sadly.

"Nala," I heard Dr. Charles call me.

My head raises and I stand up immediately.

"Don't worry the child will survive," he told me.

I run over to him crying my eyes out. He holds me within my arms.

"I couldn't help her, I feel so weak," I cry to him.

He squeezes me within his arms, trying his best to comfort me.

"It's okay," he told me.

"No, it's not," I push my body away from his as I stare into his eyes, tearfully.

"I hate being worthless, I want to save someone too," I cry to him.

"I couldn't even save my mom," I cry hard as I lower my head.

"You're being too hard on yourself, Nala," the doctor told me. "How could you save her when you know nothing about being a doctor."

I raise my head staring at him right.

"Then teach me, please teach me how to save a life as well," I told him as I wipe away my tears.

Dr. Charles smile and came over to me, hugging me.

"Hearing this, your mom would be proud," he told me.

I hug him, happy he had agreed.

Dr. Charles's arms move from around me.

"Come let's go and check on the little girl."

I follow him and soon we were in the small room. There I saw the mother's arms wrap around her daughter smiling happily. Her head turn to us as she saw us.

"Thank you, Dr. Charles, and you too young lady," she thanks me.

"I didn't do anything," I said to her surprise that she acknowledged me for something I didn't do, Dr. Charles is the only one she should be thanking.

"You let us in," she answers me.

I smile and Dr. Charles hugs me. At that moment I knew badly that I wanted to be a doctor like Dr. Charles. It was like my calling.

Dr. Charles and I left the room leaving the lady and his child, that was sound asleep from the pain relief medicine Dr. Charles had given her.

"I can teach you everything I know but if you wish to leave this land, I can let a relative of mine, a female doctor as well teaches you, she'll be happy to and you need to be around a strong-minded lady to grow into a strong woman," Dr. Charles told me as we both walk into the hallway.

I accepted to work with his relative right away. I hated being in this land and the type of person Dr. Charles describes her to be, I wanted to work along with her.

"She's a good person you won't have anything to worry about working with her," Dr. Charles told me.

I nodded. "I'll take you there when you're ready and stay with you until you've settled in," Being the only doctor in Burnesfield I must let the alpha know about it.

My face made in anger hearing him talk about the alpha. I hated him.

"I wish we could leave tomorrow," I told him.

I needed to get out of this land now. Staying here knowing the evil alphas was here I needed to get out of here. I was suffocating in unbearable pain knowing they were here.

"Tomorrow is too soon," the doctor answers me.

"I want to leave from this land away from the alphas," I told him my true reason of why I needed to leave immediately.

"You don't have to worry about the former alpha, Eric," Dr. Charles said. "He's dead."

A wonderful feeling swept over me from the end of my hair down to my toes, hearing such wonderful news. I begin to hope Eric had a terrible death and it was the excruciating pain that kill him.

One dead and another one left to go, I thought happily as I started to pray to the moon goddess that she took his son as well. They both deserve to die.

I didn't even bother to inquire the doctor how the bitch had died. I was just happy he did.

I started to go upstairs. A smile appears on my face as I did. I was now happy, elated that the bitch was no more.

"His son killed him," Dr. Charles stop me at the third step going up.

I froze hearing the news. Did Alpha Anton kill his own father for me? question begins to flood my mind.

"Nala," Dr. Charles call me.

I slowly turn around.

"Alpha Anton needs to suffer alone that same way he made me, taking your mom away from me," the doctor told me angrily. "I hope hearing this news doesn't allow him to ever win a place within your heart."

I nodded and went to my room closing the door.

"It won't happened," I said as I lay onto my back staring at the ceiling of my room.

The day I met Alpha Anton and discover he was my mate. I had feelings for him, but the terrible ways he had treated me because he feared the feelings, he had for me. He started to scare me. I don't want to be with someone who scares me every time I'm around him. Knowing what he is capable of he terrifies me even more. I too hate him since he had no mercy in helping me save my mom. My mom could be alive if he had helped me in allowing Dr. Charles to save her. I forgive him and taking him back I would surely disappoint my mom and dad. I'll never do that.

My door opens, I got up.

"Dr. Charles," I call.  I wanted to see him as well. "I don't want to stay within this land anymore longer and I needed to start learning to help save a life and become strong.

My face made in anger seeing it was not him. It was Alpha Anton.
