Chapter 204 Protective Cocoon Part 2
Chapter 204 Protective Cocoon Part 2
???'s POV
"What Lucinda didn't know was that she was carrying twins," Magdalena declared. "So with my trusty staff and some of my fairy blood, I helped Lucinda. She fed on my blood for three days until she became stronger. Soon I realized that her DNA and the babies' were now infused with fairy blood. A day after that. Lucinda left. I promised her I would be there when she gave birth, but the dark witches attacked because the twins came early."
"But how did you escape? I saw you and Harper's body. I buried you," Isis said.
"Well, after the queen and I made the agreement, she offered me a potion that I should take just in case of trouble. So after I gave birth and the dark witches attacked, I fought until I was tired. When I couldn't go anymore, I dropped a few droplets of the elixir in Harper's mouth, and then I drank the rest. It stopped our heart rates for a while. Isis didn't know, she thought we died and I knew she would ensure Hazel and James were safe."
"I remember that part. I was so angry that you had died, I managed to fight the dark witches off. I casted a spell hiding James and Hazel from them. When they saw you and the baby's body, they left. James and I buried you after that. Soon word spread that helios' bloodline has ended. And the dark witches thought the prophecy died as well."
"It was the only way to trick the dark witches into thinking the seventh daughter was dead. They knew Julia couldn't bear children, so with me and my daughter gone, there would be no one left to carry on Helios' bloodline."
There was a moment of silence while everyone let the information sink in.
"So, you didn't want to leave me then?" Hazel asked with tears welling in her eyes.
"Of course not. I wanted nothing more than to have both my girls and my husband with me. But the fate of the world was depending on this prophecy to be fulfilled. Hazel, I had to leave you behind. The dark witches thought we were both dead so that allowed you enough time to become the best woman the world needs you to be."
Finally, Hazel understood the sacrifice her mother made. "I understand. It's because of you, that I met Zander, and it is because of you, that I am even safe right now."
"So, are you saying you forgive me?"
"Yes, mom. I wanted nothing more than to meet you." The tears cascaded down Hazel's face. Lucinda was also crying tears of joy.
"Can I get one little hug then?"
"No," Hazel let out, and Lucinda faltered. "But you can get a thousand hugs," she slipped from Zander's hands and ran into her mother's embrace. "I'm sorry if I was hard on you."
"It's OK honey. What's important is that you know now, and we can both move on."
"OK." Hazel dried her eyes. "What's the story with Magnus and Harper?"
"Well, remember, I made a deal with the fairy queen to have my daughter marry her son. I had many visions of you with Zander before I had even given birth, but with Harper, I couldn't see her future, not at first. So I agreed that when she came of age, she would wed Magnus, queen Magdalena's son."
"If she's his betrothed why is he abusing her?" Dimitri inquired. "Shouldn't he be pampering her and treating her like a princess?"
"Well, when Harper became 16, she began to carve wooden figures of wolves," Lucinda explained. "I thought at first she may have seen pictures of wolves in one of the books in the library, but when I asked her, she told me she saw it in a vision."
"Harper has visions?" Hazel asked.
"Yes, and she also can put images inside someone's mind. Plus, she is telekinetic."
"That's how she threw me so far," Declan recited.
"Yes, her powers are strong. That's why Magnus keeps that collar around her neck, to keep her from accessing too much of her strength."
"So Magnus beats her because he is afraid she may be more powerful than him?" Declan was trying to understand.
"No. My son was in love with Harper. She is such a fascinating girl. And her soft spot for creatures and nature made him fall for her even more. One day, he went to visit her in her art room, and he began to examine her carvings. He went mad and destroyed almost all of her pieces."
"That's strange. Why would he do such a thing?" Declan asked.
"He realized that Harper wasn't just carving wolves, she was just carving one wolf."
When the realization hit Hazel, she whispered, "Maddox."
"Yes. And when she turned 18, she began to carve statues of her mate, Declan. That's when I saw the first vision of Declan coming to the Fae world and meeting Harper," Lucinda explained.
"So why hasn't he wed her as yet?" Declan asked.
"He's waiting on capturing me so he can eat my essence. He wants my power and the responsibility that goes along with it. There is a reason why male fairies aren't fit to rule the Fae World. They become power hungry and forget how to be fair and nurturing."
"So how do we stop him?" Dimitri asked.
"Dim, I don't just want to stop him, I want to kill him," Declan grunted.
"I like that plan, Dec," Dimitri grinned wickedly.
"Everyone listen," the queen declared. "I have a plan."
The group of heroes huddled together as they listened to the Fairy Queen's plan. Alpha Zander was in a defensive mode. He had to kill Magnus and save his Gamma's mate. Then he needed to hand that staff to the Fairy Queen so she can fix his wife, so he can finally locate King Lucifer and rescue Zoey.
'Our plate is full, Zander,' Gidian mumbled.
"It's a good thing we're hungry then," Zander replied with perseverance and determination.
