Chapter 50 Sarah
Sarah’s POV
Maybe I was being a brat but whatever.
“Are you sure Sarah? Your brother would kill you if he found out,” Amara sounded scared over the phone.
I shrugged. “He’s just going to mad for a while and that’s if he finds out I sneaked out.
“Are you going to tell him that we are going for a party,” I teased her.
“Of course not, I’m just worried you might get into trouble because of this.”
“It will be fine, we will be there together all night,” I said trying to make her feel better.
“Okay, I gotta go my mom needs me again, bye,” she sighed.
“Bye,” I hung up the phone.
I fell back on my bed.
What I would give to have my mom here bugging me.
I pushed the thought away, it has been years now since my parents died but I still felt like yesterday.
If they were here, I bet they would have let me go to this party.
I felt angry, just remembering what Liam said.
I didn’t get it. Liam just makes rules and give orders around and no one tells me anything.
I got up from my bed and decided to go downstairs.
I saw Elena coming out of her room.
I heard about what happened to Jane and Elena had gone to see her.
“Hey Elena,” I said with a smile.
“Hey Sarah,” she said as she turned to look at me.
I noticed her eyes looked swollen and she had dark circles under her eyes.
If this is what one day in the hospital does to you, then I gonna avoid it like crazy.
She looked at me for a while. “Are you okay Sarah?”
I was surprised she asked.
No I was not okay, I had just finished my senior year in high school and instead of everyone congratulating me, everyone forgot and Liam wouldn’t even let me go to the party.
But I smiled. “Yes, I think you should get some rest Elena, you don’t look too good,” I said, trying to get her to stop asking me questions.
“Well see you later,” I said as I walked down the stairs.
I hurried over to the kitchen, the thing about pack houses was that everyone was like a big family.
But I was happy our pack was different, most of our members liked to stay by themselves, away from the pack house.
We only got together for breakfast and dinner.
Which meant the pack house was looking kind of empty now.
I went to the fridge and smiled as I munched on some leftover chicken.
Mrs Brown, the cook, always left some for me because she knew it was my favorite.
I went back to my room after searching the kitchen for food.
I looked outside my room, the sun was already down, and that was my sign to get ready.
I went into the bathroom and took my bath.
I decided I was going to go for a blue dress that hugged my body.
I can wear jeans another time. I thought.
I put on my black heels and put on some lip gloss and I was done.
I brushed my hair out letting it fall. Hearing Elena tell me that my hair was gorgeous made me let it loose more often.
I opened my door and sneaked out making sure nobody saw me leave because I knew they would tell Liam.
The coast was clear and I took my chance to run out.
Getting passed the guards at the gate wasn’t a problem, Amara had lied to her parents that the party was in school and they offered to drop us off.
I rushed to the gates and saw Amara waiting for me and the guards gave way for me to pass and meet her parents.
“Hey Sarah, it’s been a while,” Amara’s dad said as I got in.
“Hi, Mr and Mrs Smith,” I said.
The drive wasn’t long as we got to school.
Amara and I kept looking at each other, praying her parents wouldn’t ask to come inside with us.
Luckily they didn’t and I was happy when I saw a few kids hanging out in the school.
“You girls don’t stay out long, we’ll be back to get you by 11pm,” Mrs Smith said as they waved and drove off.
We waited until they were actually gone before we called a cab to take us there.
Our school was just outside town between my pack and Amara’s, so that meant we had to drive into town for the pretty.
We got to the place and the club was huge with so many people. “This is going to be so much fun,” Amara squeaked as we moved forward into the crowd.
We saw a couple of our classmates and joined them.
Amara said she was going to get drinks so I kept dancing until she got back.
“The bartender told me that a handsome blond boy paid for our drink,” she raised her brow to where Dylan was sitting, clearly staring at me.
Dylan had been crushing on me since we were in middle school but I just never had time for boys even though he was hot.
I shrugged and took the drink from her. “I think he should just stop, he’s been at this for too long now, and besides you know I’m waiting for my mate,” I said.
“Yeah I know, me too,” she drank her drink and shivered. “Yuck, whoever said alcohol tasted nice was a wicked liar.”
I totally agreed with her. If Liam found out I took it, he would flip out.
We stopped at two bottles not wanting to get drunk.
After dancing for a while, I started feeling weird.
“Sarah, I don’t think I feel so good,” Amara said as she held her stomach.
“Yeah me too,” I said. We went to the bathroom and I held Amara’s hair back as she threw up.
“I’m never drinking again,” she said as she wiped her mouth.
“Me too,” I said.
Amara walked out of the toilet to look at herself in the mirror.
“Sarah, I think we should—”
I heard a loud sound outside.
“Amara?” I said as I got up and walked to the door.
I gasped as I saw Amara on the floor with blood coming out of her head.
I rushed to her. “Amara, are you okay?”
I was about to shout for help when I felt something hard hit my head and then it all went dark.
