Chapter Twelve
Chapter Twelve
Author's POV
James looked at Jedidiah sleeping and he smiled at her beauty. It always did him in all the time and he was always thinking about what he would do. It was almost as though he was getting the best out of everything. His beloved soon to be wife was a beast in bed, driving him crazy. He didn't expect that he would ever expect such a level of love and kindness, it made him very happy.
"If you want it to last longer, you can take a picture." Jedidiah said while propping on one hand and admiring his features too. He was the best man that she had ever had the privilege of being with. It was almost as though he was in her mind, always trying to make things so good for her and make sure that she didn't lift a finger.
"I don't think a picture would do justice to your beauty, I'd rather have it in real time. I love the fact that you're mine."
"I'm very sure my sister would be mad wherever she is right now."
"And who the hell cares? No one. It's just like there's something weighing heavily on my mind. It's huge and I can't help but feel happy with the passing day." He replied.
Jedidiah crawled toward James. " We don't need to worry about her because she has gone to the place where she truly belongs. I don't think that certain people are just supposed to be entertained." She replied.
A bell rung in the distance and she rolled her eyes carefully. "I don't know why my father bothers so much. Why is he calling a meeting right now?" She replied changing her direction and heading toward the end of the room.
Her pajamas were lying carelessly on the ground from last night's activities.
"We should continue sometime later. Would you come to my room later tonight? I have something lovely to show you." She winked and he rolled his eyes at her antics. Obviously she didn't have anything to show him.
"Yeah, I think you owe me a painting session by the way. What do you think about that?" He cocked his head to the side and smirked happily.
As Jedidiah approached her room, two maids followed her and she glared at them, why the hell were they disturbing her peace in the first place? She couldn't even pretend to understand what they were doing because all she could see here was people who were trying to disturb her.
"Why are you flanking me?"
"We received orders from the Alpha that you should be watched over carefully. We don't want anything to happen to you ma'am." They replied with finality in their tones.
A scornful look made them move away because they knew what was at stake
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" She told them and they looked elsewhere but she was smarter and ran out of their midst. "Yu think that you can outsmart me? That's impossible. It was possibly because her father wasn't in support of her dating James and marrying him. He thought that he was not strong enough.
The maids ran toward the door and noticed that it was locked. The princess had outsmarted them. How did they return and inform the king that the lovely princess had been gallivanting with James?
Alpha Raul walked to the end of his throne room and sighed as he struck his hand against his chin. It wasn't pleasant news that he received from his pack friends offshore. It was making him afraid and beginning to think about what he could do differently.
Sadly, his daughter was busy hooking up with that guard who was supposed to be protecting her. He didn't have a problem with their union, just that he wanted her to have a plan for herself.
Jedidiah walked into her father's chambers with a small smile on her face. He was facing the window, obviously in deep thoughts.
"Are you sure that you don't want to go back to your beloved mate?" He inquired mockingly.
Jedidiah was slightly afraid by the tone he used in addressing her. It wasn't news that she was the apple of his eyes and he didn't ever raise his voice at her.
"What did I do wrong dad?"
"Your sister left this position vacant but you're doing a bad job at filling it up. What do you want people to say? That I made a huge mistake handing over the pack to you? Of course I won't be a part of this mess. you need to sit up or else i will kick you out."
There was nothing she was supposed to do that she hadn't done. She assessed her father stylishly. Something was fishy, she refused to believe that it was just because of something so trivial that he was being this furious. "Can you kindly tell me what the problem is? I don't think I follow."
"You are not focused on the pack. When Abigail was here I didn't need to supervise anything. She knew all that she needed to do but I have to literally break my back before you see the reason in what I am saying. "why would you even do that in the first place?"
"I don't know why you're feeling very down when you can just make sure that I get all the things I need to do and watch me carry them all out. I won't be happy to be compared to my sister, especially not from you." She retorted.
Her father stared at her with high anger in his heart toward his daughter. "You see, this is the problem I have with you. You wanted this position but are unwilling to work for it. How does that even sound to you?" He reached for an envelope on his table.
"Here, read this and tell me what you noticed. We are having an attack soon. Dear Alpha, you will be leading us if that's not too much to ask." He replied.
