Chapter 104
Hunter.
I had Mason bring in Keisha's mother and sister and as soon as she saw them, her face fell and I instantly knew that I had hit her weak spot. For some reason, I found the look of horror on her face a lot more amusing than I expected and I didn't even realize just how much I disliked her until today.
She has always been a thorn in the flesh to me because I could never do anything to get rid of her because of her relationship with Brenda and she made things difficult for me by always reporting anything that I did to her friend and just making sure that she stayed loyal to Brenda instead of staying loyal to me that hired her in the first place.
"You didn't have to go this far, Hunter! How dare you bring my family into this? What business do they have with all this?" she asked fiercely and I almost scoffed.
"First of all, it's Alpha Hunter to you and if you didn't want me to involve your family, then you should have immediately answered me when I asked you a question earlier. Now tell me, are you going to keep being loyal to your best friend to the detriment of your family's safety or will you just tell me everything you know concerning where Brenda and her mother went to and why?" I questioned and I could see her clenching her fists in anger.
"If you're man enough, why aren't you asking Brenda this question instead of trying to get an answer from me?" she asked and I chuckled.
"I don't remember permitting you to ask me any question but if it's going to satisfy you to know, the only reason I'm not asking Brenda is because if I get direct confirmation from your friend, I don't know what I'll do to her in a fit of anger. So, if you don't want to see your friend hurt, tell me the truth and I'll immediately let your family go. I have no other reason to hurt them besides your silence," I answered.
"If you're worried that they can hear our conversation right now, then be rest assured that they can't. This side of the room is properly soundproofed and they have no idea what's going on. So as soon as you tell me what I want to know, they will be escorted out and sent home immediately," I assured her.
She sighed. "Okay fine, let them go and I'll tell you what you want to know," she finally succumbed and I smiled.
"Good choice," I responded before signaling Mason to let Keisha's family out so she could start talking.
"So tell me, Keisha, why did Brenda and her mother go to the northern area and which pack did she go to?" I asked.
"If you're suspecting that Brenda is the reason why Helene's father figured out where she is, then, you're not wrong to suspect that cause she and her mother had paid a visit to the Blue Moon Pack Alpha and they were the ones that informed him that his daughter was here," she answered and even though I already suspected that was the truth, it was still really disappointing for me to hear it directly from someone else.
I was hoping that Brenda would not follow any of her mother's antics but the fact that she had gone as far as crossing our territory into a place that had no business with us and then caused that man to have the audacity to threaten my pack just out of her stupid jealousy, made me very upset and she was lucky I wasn't in front of her right now cause I can't even imagine what I'm capable of doing to her in this state.
"I know it's not of my business saying this but you do realize that it's your fault that she had to go that far because you suddenly stopped paying attention to her as soon as your mate arrived even after you've assured her all these years that nothing was going to change your relationship with her even if you ended up meeting your mate. You were the first person to break your promise to her so don't you dare act like you deserved her loyalty," she snapped at me and I scoffed.
"So does that justify the fact that she went into the enemy's territory simply out of jealousy and is even aware of the fact that he is threatening to go to war with us just to get his daughter to come back? Does Brenda ever acknowledge her fault and simply blame me for abandoning her when she also started acting weird and picking fights with me? You know what, whatever you think just said isn't any of my business,"
"I'm striping you of your position as a chief guard from today and you're to immediately leave the pack fortress with all your things. You're not allowed to meet with Brenda or even speak to her and if you try to, I'll banish you and your family immediately. Don't think you can sneak around 'cause I'll have my eyes on you. Is that understood?" I warned and she scoffed.
"Why do I have to lose my job? I already told you what you wanted to know!" she yelled in her defense and I scoffed.
"Did you think that I wasn't aware of the fact that you've been reporting every one of my moves to your friend and you've even gone as far as planting people around me just to get information of what I'm up to? Be thankful that I'm not throwing you in prison instead," I replied.
"Coward," she muttered but I ignored her.
She was no longer any of my business now that I already got what I wanted from her and I felt so satisfied with sending her away cause a lot of things involving Brenda had been long overdue and it was about time I settled everything once and for all.
