Chapter 40 Forty
Chapter 40 Forty
Laura's POV.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Your name is there, you must be working with the witch huh?" He said, advancing towards me.
All I cared about right now was the health of Darren and they made Dean and Karl Easter time because of this, it was so damn annoying.
"I'm sorry but I don't have the time for this." I said firmly and he stepped back, shocked that his trick didn't work with me. If he thought I was going to run, then he was lying.
"So you won't confirm if you did this or not." He said.
"She was with us the whole time and she just came out here, how will she do this?" Dean asked with a sigh.
"You kept me here when I told you I had something to do, and now you're accusing her when she was with the alpha." Dean added.
"And where is the alpha if I may ask?" He said.
"He would be where you are if you let Dean go do what the alpha asked him to do." I said and he snarled.
"You're very insolent." He spat.
"And you're wasting my time." I shot back.
"His life matters more than your antics." I said.
"Without this happening you already concluded that I had a hand in it." I said looking at the dead bodies.
"So this happening won't change anything,I feel like it'll fuel your mind more, but that's not my business." I added.
"Spare me all these and let me through." I said, stepping forward.
"Hold her down damn it, we've seen the evidence." He said and I heard footsteps scurrying towards me.
I felt hands on me and I flipped the hands over landing two guards on the floor, I was surprised by my strength, I stepped back looking at them.
"The alpha is dying from a wound and all you care about is capturing me?" I walked to him.
"How am I sure you're not the one doing all these to put the blame on me." I said and he gasped.
"I mean it's pretty easy to write my name." I said.
"It doesn't mean I did anything, but that doesn't matter if I'm being honest." I said, leaving him, I was surprised by my bravado.
"Who is a healer here?" I asked.
"I'm here." One raised her hands and I smiled.
"Please come with time, the alpha really needs your help." I said and she nodded.
"Are you sure I can come, he doesn't let anyone in there." She said, shivering.
"Do you have lots of energy to heal a wolfsbane wound?" I asked.
"Yes I do." She said and I smiled.
"Then we're good." I said taking her with me.
"And don't worry, the alpha won't do anything to you, he already asked for a healer and that's why Dean came down here." I said walking with her.
"Running away won't change anything." I heard them say.
"She must be a witch." One said.
" Yeah, this happened because of her, she's a disaster." Another said and I rolled my eyes.
"You're really strong." The healer said and I sighed.
"It's a farce, I'm not strong." I said.
"You are, if you aren't you'll crumble." She said,
"I've been crumbling for life, I can't do that anymore." I replied, looking away.
I suddenly remembered how life was at the other pack and I shook my head.
I opened the door, and let her inside, I gasped when I saw his state.
"He's really in a bad state." The healer rushed to him.
"Yes he is and they were busy mulling over what to do with me." I sighed.
"Jerks." I said.
"So sorry, I'll heal him right away." She said,
"Laura, what happened?" He coughed, and blood poured out.
I brought a handkerchief, cleaning it away.
"Who did you bring here?" He asked and the healer swallowed, stepping back.
"Continue with what you were doing." I said and she nodded.
"The healer you asked, Karl and Dean, are being held by the elders." I said.
"Being held?" He frowned and gasped as the healer placed her hands on him, pressing the wound, it was healing quickly.
"Pack members are dead and they were fine earlier." I said.
"Did they join us for the war?" He asked.
"Not they didn't, it's just the normal members." I said and he sighed.
"How many died?" He asked.
"Three died." I said and he nodded.
"Well damn it, I think it's that witch's doing." He said and I nodded.
"I also thought the same as what you described." I said.
"Aren't you done?" He asked the healer.
"I am." She smiled as she stood up, his wound healed up and there was nothing there, he stood up and jumped up.
"Damn, I'm okay." He said.
"Thank you." He told the healer and she blushed.
"You can now go." I told her and she nodded.
He started to leave and I stopped him.
"Where to?"I asked.
"I need to attend to the pack issue, I'm the Alpha." He said.
"I know you need to." I said.
"But take this first." I gave him a carton of milk and he sighed.
"You need your energy." I added, he collected it while drinking everything.
"Can I now go?" He raised his eyebrows with a smile.
"Soon." I said, looking at him again,I needed to be sure he was alright.
"I'm okay, no need to look at me twice." He said and I laughed.
"I have to, I was so scared, and all the elders thought of was accusing me." I said and he smiled.
"They do know how to do that." He said with a sigh.
"I'm tired of them." He added.
"But I can't throw them away." He said.
"It's okay, now go meet them." I said and he stood up.
"Uncle." I turned when Dean walked into the room, he heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Darren.
"Pack meeting." Dean said.
"Come on, you're joining us." He said dragging me along with him.
And I wondered if they wouldn't bite me.
