Darren's POV.
I kept speaking to Laura while the elders kept bringing up her name, at some point I thought they get tired, but they didn't, the kept bringing her name up, it felt like they didn't even care how they sounded or what they said,as long as they had the chance to blame theirsekves everytime, listening to them sucked, but I had no choice, I had to follow traditions and every other thing.
And having elders was part of what you needed as a pack, it was important, that was the only reason why I let them be, they could say their rubbish for all I care.
"Alpha,your mate is dangerous." One said and I laughed, they all kept quiet looking at me.
"What's funny?" They asked.
"You all are, you said you want to talk about the way, then you mentioned Laura again, what I asked for you all didn't say anything.", I said hitting the table.
"So spare me all these theatrics and tell me what I really need to know." I said, another reason I couldn't throw them out was their wisdom when they wanted to be wise, but they were mostly stupid.
"The witch is attacking today." One of them said and I stood up immediately.
"Now you're talking, this is what you would've told me earlier." I said.
I mind-linked Karl to come immediately, his reply made me laugh, he thought I caused trouble again.
"Yes alpha." I smiled when I heard Karl's voice and saw him stand by my side.
"Prepare the troops.I said.
"It's today?"Karl's eyes widened.
"Yes, they just told me, and they knew it since so annoying." I said and Karl sighed.
"We can do it." Karl said and I sighed.
"Just bring them together." I said.
"Okay, alpha." He said.
I went into the cafeteria and signaled to Laura, she stood up and came immediately.
"Hey, you're back." She said happily, I knew she was excited to see me, but I was about to leave. I sighed as I thought of not telling her what I needed to do, but at the same time, I felt like it was really important for me to tell her.
"Yeah, I have something to say." I said and she nodded.
"We have a very short war, and I have to join in." I said and I heard her heart beat fast, her face that was all smiling turned scared and apprehensive, I knew she was scared for me.
"Hey, it's a small battle, I'll be done in a jiffy." I smiled.
"They can't fight without me,they need my presence and I need to strengthen them." I said and she walked to me kissing me.
I grabbed her closer, kissing her back, it felt so good kissing her, I inhaled her scent, licking her neck,she moaned and I groaned, this was the best she could do for me, and this was the biggest motivation I needed, there was no way, I wouldn't fight quickly, knowing what I was rushing home for.
We broke apart heaving like we were short of breath.
"I'll be waiting." She said and I smiled.
"I'll be back." I promised, leaving immediately. If I stood there and stared at her face again, I'd get upset.
"Hey." Karl said and I smiled.
I saw Dean walk up to me and I sighed, I didn't want him here.
"Go back, you're not needed." I said, I was scared of losing him the same way I lost his parents.
"What's the need of your training if you keep doing this?" He asked.
"Just let him come, he'll be fine." Karl said and I sighed.
"What is he..?" I couldn't finish my statement.
"I won't die uncle, you trained me, except you're telling me you're not a good fighter." He said with a smirk and I smiled.
"Fine, but please, be careful, this is not a werewolf fight, she's a witch, she's been playing at attacking us for years, I need to deal with her." I said and he nodded.
"Let's go." I told all my warriors and they nodded, we all matched out, I made Karl assign the healers where we needed them.

The witch was a smart as fuck, she used another pack and put what I didn't understand in their bodies making them attack us, and for some reason whatever they did was two times better than us, our training felt like it was nothing against them, five of my pack members were dead already.
"Fuck, this witch is really doing a lot." Karl came heaving, I nodded, looking around, I could see the witch sitting in the middle and chanting,my aim was to get to her.
I kept looking around, but she brought dozens of her werewolf armies to fight for her, making sure no one touched her.
"Damn it, Uncle things are not good, the healers have their hands full now, they are healing about ten of our warriors." Dean reported.
"Be careful out there." I said and he nodded.
I sneaked around and I held my spear tightly, if I could throw it right, it'll hit her.
I flinged my spear and it went directly to her heart, piercing it, she gasped and fell back, her warriors fell down too,she must have connected her life source to them,I smiled triumphantly.
"Wow,yass." Dean clapped.
"Let's celebrate." I said and all my men cheered, this was easy and I was happy she was dead.
"Yeah, but let me check the injuries first." I said and I met the healers.
"Good work, she's dead, and you won't get more casualty." I said and they nodded.
I sighed as I watched the army she brought, they were all dead, the happiness I felt when I knew I'll go and meet with Laura soon was massive.
"Let's go home, I'm missing her." I said and Karl shook his head.
"I'm sure it's mutual. "Dean said and I smirked.
All I thought about was reaching home, I raced immediately, and I smirked when I saw Karl and Dean follow me.
