Chapter 201

Chapter 201
Madilyn’s POV

The great hall of the Bloodmoon Palace shimmered with gold and silver, its ceiling glowing from enchanted torches flickering along the walls. Every breath I took felt heavy with meaning as I stood beside Mason, my heart racing with anticipation.

The coronation had begun.

Wolves from all ranks—nobles in velvet, warriors with scarred shoulders, and commoners in humble cloaks—had filled the room, their eyes locked on the throne.

On Mason.
On us.

The air was thick with reverence, yet charged with a quiet excitement. Everyone knew this moment would be marked in Alastair’s history—not just for the crowning of a king, but for the rebirth of a kingdom.

Outside, the night wind whispered through the palace gardens, carrying with it the scent of roses that once belonged to Mason’s mother. Inside, soft murmurs gave way to silence as the officials entered in solemn procession, dressed in the deep-hued ceremonial robes of the realm.

Mason and I stood at the heart of the dais. Behind us were the ancient crests of Alastair, etched in silver and obsidian. In front of us—expectation.

And then she stepped forward—Mason’s grandmother, the last surviving elder of the line.

Her back was stooped with age, but her eyes sparkled with something eternal. Wisdom. Compassion. The ache of years lived too long in silence.

She met my eyes first. Then Mason’s. Then lifted her arms to the heavens.

"Blessed Moon Goddess," she began, her voice unwavering, "guide the blood that rules this land. Let love and strength walk hand in hand, and may the sins of the past be cleansed through truth and justice."

The room hushed completely.

The crown—carved with silver filigree and precious moonstones—was brought forth.

Time itself seemed to pause.

When the elder placed the crown atop Mason’s head, the weight of it—the legacy, the pain, the power—settled over him. He didn't falter. He stood taller.

Then, every wolf in the hall—whether noble, warrior, servant, or child—bowed before him.

All of them.

The hush cracked with howls—pure, raw, loyal.

Mason, now crowned Alpha King, ascended the throne.

His grandmother turned to me. “Madilyn, you stand at his side not because of duty, but because of fire. Fire that survived. Fire that fought. You have earned your crown.”

A lighter, feminine circlet—mirroring Mason’s—was gently placed on my head.

I didn’t feel overwhelmed.

I felt whole.

As I stood beside Mason, wolves howled again, some shifting into their majestic forms, lowering their bodies in full submission. They honored not just a king and queen—but a kingdom rising from ashes.

And in the middle of it all, Mason met my eyes… and winked.

That tiny gesture was enough to ground me. The chaos of war, betrayal, blood—all of it led us here.

And he was still mine.

\---

Later that night, I stood by the open window of our bedroom—the Palace of Hearts—gazing out at the moonlit garden Mason’s mother once cherished.

The first thing he’d done as Alpha was reclaim her palace, turning it into our sanctuary. Every corner of it breathed of love, memory, and healing. He’d erased every trace of Alaska—his manipulative birth mother.

Her lies had cost lives. Her games had left scars.

But now… she was gone.

And Mason had honored his real mother in the most powerful way: by living, by ruling with heart.

“Damn, my Queen… you look dangerous,” came a familiar voice behind me.

I turned and nearly gasped. Mason stood in nothing but a towel, damp from the shower, water tracing slow paths across the lines of muscle and old scars.

His eyes roamed over me, dark and burning.

He walked straight toward me. Confident. Possessive. Mine.

His hands slipped around my waist, pulling me close. He buried his face in my neck, inhaling deeply.

“I’ll never get used to your scent,” he murmured.

I looked down at his chest—at the three deep scars. A reminder of the nights he hurt himself for me.

My heart cracked open again. I leaned in and kissed the scars gently.

His breath caught. A low groan rumbled from his throat. That sound made me bold. I let my tongue flick across one of the marks.

His hand tangled in my hair.

“Ugh… You’ll be the death of me, sweetheart.”

His voice was hoarse. I laughed, breathless.

Then, without warning, he lifted me—effortless as ever. I wrapped my legs around his waist with a squeal.

He pressed me against the wall, his lips crashing onto mine.

The first kiss was hungry—dominant. His tongue explored, his teeth nipped. When he pulled back, my lips were swollen and tingling.

“You drive me insane,” he whispered.

“And that’s exactly the point,” I whispered back, running my fingers through his wet hair.

The next kiss was softer, more deliberate. His lips moved to my neck, painting slow, open-mouthed kisses down to my collarbone.

My dress disappeared. My bra joined it. My nipples pebbled under his mouth. I gasped, pressing into him as he worshipped me.

He dropped to his knees, lifting my thigh over his shoulder.

The moment his mouth met me—I shattered.

He didn’t stop. His tongue moved with purpose, building something unbearable inside me. I moaned, helpless, until he finally lifted me and tossed me onto the bed.

Then he was on me.

His kiss swallowed my cry as he thrust inside me in one glorious stroke.

I screamed his name, every nerve in my body igniting.

He moved with ruthless control—each thrust timed, each kiss strategic. He owned me. Loved me. Ruined me.

“I love you,” he said.

“I love you,” I breathed.

And in that moment—we both let go.

Sparks exploded behind my eyes. Pleasure slammed into me like a storm.

When it was over, we were a tangled mess of limbs, sweat, and quiet laughter. He pressed lazy kisses across my belly, tracing my skin with his tongue.

My eyes fluttered shut.

Then… he moved.

Too quickly.

I sat up. His gaze was dark—serious.

Mason walked over to the bed. Then—he knelt.

He pulled out a small black box.

Inside: my wedding band.

My breath hitched.

He looked up at me, eyes full of fire and vulnerability.

“Will you marry me?”

I blinked, confused. “But we already are, silly.”

He shook his head.

“Marry me again. No politics. No duty. No kingdoms. Just you. Just me. Real vows. Real love.”

It hit me all at once.

We had married under pressure. For convenience. For family. For power.

Now… he wanted it to be ours.

Tears filled my eyes. “Yes. A thousand times, yes.”

He grinned. Slipped the ring on my finger.

And then—his body followed.
