Chapter 200
Chapter 200
Third-Person POV
In the choking humidity of the Warpaw Kingdom’s dungeon, Amanda howled like a cornered beast.
Her once-elegant nails were chipped and bloodied as she clawed at the iron bars, the shriek of metal against skin cutting through the air. The cold, damp stone walls threw her screams back at her, amplifying the chaos in her mind.
“Let me out of here, you pathetic fools! Do you even know who I am?” Amanda screeched, her voice sharp enough to pierce steel.
In the cell opposite hers, Leila leaned against the wall, eyes hollow, lips curled in dry contempt. “They know exactly who you are,” she muttered. “That’s why you're here.”
The guards barely glanced her way. One exchanged a knowing smirk with another.
“We know who you are, Amanda. A prisoner of Warpaw,” he said with a mocking edge.
Amanda’s nostrils flared. “I am not your prisoner! I am the mother of Alpha Jared’s child! You will regret this insolence.”
Leila scoffed. “Delusion suits you. They don’t care whose bed you warmed. We’re worthless now.”
It had been three days since everything crumbled—since Jayden led Jared and his army into the Bloodmoon ambush.
Amanda and Leila were dragged from luxury straight into filth. Held as pawns in a game they no longer controlled. The guards warned them—if Jayden pulled anything or Jared failed, they’d both be executed.
Amanda had thought being the mother of Jared’s child meant protection. But no one cared. The Warpaw Kingdom played by rules far more brutal than she imagined.
She stank. Her pride festered with her.
With a wild scream, she slammed the bars again—crack. A nail snapped clean off.
She gasped, looked at her hand in horror. “You animals! That manicure cost more than your lives!”
No one responded.
Until—CLANG.
The dungeon door creaked open.
A man in a white mourning robe stepped in, carrying a tray. On it: two dark vials.
Amanda’s eyes narrowed. “What’s this, your version of room service?”
The man’s face didn’t flinch. “By order of the Alpha, you will drink this poison. Say goodbye to your wolves.”
Amanda hissed, recoiling like a viper. “You dare bring that near me? I won’t be disposed of like trash.”
Leila rose to her knees, gripping the bars. “Wait—wait—what happened? Where’s Jayden? Did we win? Please tell me that wretched Madilyn is dead at least!”
The man’s expression darkened, rage tightening his jaw.
“Your coward husband led our Alpha to slaughter. Prince Mason saw through your betrayal. Alpha Jared is dead. And yesterday, Jayden was hanged publicly—stoned by the very people of Bloodmoon.”
Leila collapsed onto the stone floor, a guttural sob escaping her lips. “No… no, no! Jayden can’t be dead! He was everything I had left!”
Amanda blinked. A flicker of shock. Then calculation.
The man shoved the tray forward. “Drink. Or die screaming.”
Amanda’s eyes glinted.
She turned on Leila like a blade. “She’s Jayden’s wife! She knew everything. I’m innocent—I have Jared’s child! Spare me, kill her!”
Leila’s eyes widened, horror dawning across her tear-streaked face. “Amanda… how could you?”
Amanda lifted her chin. “Survival requires sacrifice.”
The man sneered. “You abused Jared. Deceived him. Stole from him. He planned to kill you whether we won or not.”
Amanda’s lips parted. “That’s a lie! He loved me!”
“He despised you,” the man snapped. “You live only because of your son. The new Alpha.”
Amanda’s pulse quickened. Her son… Alpha?
She smoothed her hair, faking warmth. “Take me to him. Let me speak to him—he’ll listen. I’m his mother.”
The man stepped aside.
“You don’t need to go to him. He’s here.”
And from behind him stepped a boy.
Regal robes draped over his small frame. A golden sash marked his rank. His face—childish, but his gaze? Old. Wounded.
Amanda’s face lit up. “My sweet boy… oh, look at you! Alpha! Quickly, darling—open this filthy cage and—”
He didn’t move.
“Mother,” he said softly, “I did what I could. This poison—it won’t kill you. But it will sever your wolf. You’ll live in pain. That’s all I could convince the Elders to allow.”
His voice, so calm, so steady—it didn’t sound like a boy’s at all.
Amanda’s joy vanished. “You don’t understand! I did all this for you! I gave you life!”
The man spoke again. “The people of Warpaw demanded justice. Your death would’ve satisfied them. But your son bargained for mercy. They gave him the crown—and you… the fire.”
The boy turned to leave.
Amanda shrieked, lunging forward. “You ungrateful brat! I should’ve drowned you in your crib! You ruined my life! You’ll regret this—you hear me?! I curse you!”
He walked away. He never looked back.
Amanda’s screams clawed at the stone.
“I made you! I made you!”
The man sighed. “Enough.”
He signaled the guards.
Two massive figures entered, silent as shadows.
Amanda thrashed, howling. “I’m a Luna! You can’t touch me!”
They seized her. Pried her jaw open.
And poured the poison down her throat.
She gagged.
Then screamed.
Her body jerked violently, spasming against the cold floor.
Inside her, her wolf howled—a long, final cry before silence.
Agony burst through her like flames. Her veins lit up with fire.
Beside her, Leila writhed too. Their cries mixed into one endless scream.
It was like drowning in invisible flames.
A torment they once gave to Madilyn in a warehouse…
Now? It would never stop.
They would burn.
Every single day.
For the rest of their lives.
Outside the dungeon, the new Alpha—Amanda’s son—stood beneath the rising sun.
He did not cry.
He did not flinch.
He simply whispered,
"Forgive me, Mother… but justice had to begin somewhere."
