ALANA
“Alana, it’s time. I have to take you back to the dormitory,” Lucas said from my back while I am still holding William’s hands.
He is still not waking up but the color on his face is back. I peered into the bandage in his wrists and found a big deep wound there that is still bleeding.
“William needs to do that for the prayers to be more effective.” That is what Francine told me as her answer. “Do not feel any guilt, Alana. He is just doing what I know you will do in a heartbeat for him.”
Yes, she is right. I would do the same thing for him but still, I can’t help but feel guilty knowing that he was hurt again because of me.
“Alana…” Lucas put a hand on my shoulder to which I yanked off as quickly as possible.
“Don’t touch me!” I glared at him. “You disgust me, Lucas.”
He clenched his hands to control his temper from exploding.
“I did not do anything to you. In fact, you are the one that is making it hard for everybody, especially William. Alana, the mark on your body indicating that you are the alpha prince’s mate disappeared completely.” He hitched my waist and put my hair to the side to reveal my smooth neck without any sign that William’s mark had been there. “Your body naturally rejects your mate. You have found a new mate and that is me! I am your new mate so why can’t you just admit it?! Why are you forcing yourself to stay with him when you already have a new mate in the form of me?!”
I pushed him away from me but he did not let me get away from him. “Let me go! I won’t ever accept you as my mate ever even if you try to forcefully mark me! I would just reject you over and over again, Lucas!”
Pain crossed his eyes as his hand hardened around my waist, his face too close to mine as I can already feel his breath against me.
Malaika began to wake up from inside me, excited to see and feel Lucas in its flesh.
He knew his effect on me physically that’s why he is taking advantage of it and not letting me go pushing me closer into his body causing my wolf to get wilder than ever.
“Can your chosen mate do this to your body? Hmm?” He licked the back of my neck to my abhorrence of my own self because I feel so weak against his touch.
He rubbed his hardness on my butt and humped a little while laughing in my ear. “I bet you are also enjoying this, Alana. I know deep inside you want me too but you are just conditioning your mind to still like William because he’s got more money, power, and influence than me. Am I right? Hmm?”
My tears are choking me and blurring my vision. I loathe Lucas but I am more furious with myself.
Why am I so weak? Why can’t I just push him away? Why can’t I order my body to do what my heart and mind wants?
I bit my lower lip in disgust when I felt his hardness grow more against my back. He’s already grunting behind me and all I can do is close my eyes and feel like vomiting.
I felt so weak against him in the worst kind of way. Why can’t I do something? Why do I always need someone to save me so I could escape my current situation?
“Alana, look at William!” He forced my head to stare at my man on the bed. “You are the reason why he’s suffering now, Alana. Do you want him to not wake up anymore? Do you want him to stay bedridden for the rest of his life? Is this what you want to happen to the alpha prince, Alana? Ever since you came into his life, you did nothing but give him problems after problems. I told you already that you are better off with me. We will live a simple life according to what you want. We will only live for ourselves, Alana. Leave the palace with me and forget about the alpha prince. Take me as your mate now.”
A sob came out from my mouth as I closed my eyes again to control my emotions. Only imagining that makes all my insides turn.
I will never do that. I will never be his for as long as I live!
With all of me, I crouched down slowly and kicked that nasty hard thing between his legs. Caught off guard because he never thought that I could do that, he failed to snag my leg and avoid the attack.
I immediately stepped back and faced him squarely, my legs trembling all over as I watched him seethe with pain clasping his crotch.
My wolf wailed because it felt his pain but my mind felt more satisfied than ever knowing I got to hurt him.
“I will never be your mate, Lucas! With what you did today, I will kill myself the second I take a glimpse of my future with you! I would rather choose to be eaten by maggots and flies rather than run away with you! You are so far from William in every standard in this world! You got nothing on him! I will always choose him anytime, anytime, and anywhere over you!”
He gritted his teeth and walked over to me while I prepared myself to fight him. There is no way I would let him touch me again. I will slap him, kick him, and even kill him if he forces himself to me again.
Lucas reached me and was about to haul me towards him when William slowly stirred in his sleep and opened his eyes to see us both red in anger.
He reached for my hand and gripped it tightly. “Alana, what is happening here?” he asked while his eyes hopped from me to Lucas.
“Lucas, what are you doing to my mate?”
