Chapter 236 Chapter 236
Chapter 236 Chapter 236
The battle slowed for a moment. The warriors pushed Lucien’s men back, but the air was still thick with fear and blood. Damien and Elara stood side by side, their eyes locked on Lucien who was still breathing heavy, still fighting to rise again.
But then another cry broke the air.
“Traitor! Bring her forward!”
Two elders dragged Clara into the middle of the battlefield. Her hair was messy, her dress torn, but her eyes were still filled with fire. She struggled, shouting, “Let me go! I did nothing wrong! I am the true Luna, not her!”
The pack gathered around. Whispers spread quickly. Warriors who were still bleeding from the fight turned their eyes on Clara, anger burning in them.
One of the elders shouted, “Clara, daughter of this land, you betrayed your pack. You met with the enemy. You begged Lucien to harm our Alpha’s mate. You carried poison in your heart!”
Clara’s eyes shook, but she raised her chin high. “I did it for us! For the pack! Elara is nothing, she is weak! I only wanted Damien to see—”
“Silence!” Damien’s growl cut through the air. His black wolf form was still covered in blood, his golden eyes burning. “You betrayed me. You betrayed all of us.”
Elara’s heart squeezed in her chest. She had once pitied Clara, even wished she would change. But now, seeing her standing there with lies on her lips, Elara’s heart turned hard.
Kael stepped forward too. His voice was heavy. “Clara, I warned you. But you never listened.”
Mira stood at the back, her face pale. She whispered to Elara, “She has no shame. Even now, she still acts proud.”
The elders raised their hands to the sky. The battlefield went silent. Even the fire in the forest seemed to pause.
“Moon Goddess,” the oldest elder cried, his voice deep and shaking, “hear us! Tonight, blood has spilled, and truth has been shown. A daughter of this pack turned against her family. She opened the door to the enemy. She tried to destroy the bond you blessed. Moon Goddess, judge her!”
The ground trembled. A bright light spilled from the clouds, soft but powerful. Every wolf bowed their heads. Even Damien lowered his body. Elara felt her chest burn—the presence of the Moon Goddess filled the land.
Clara’s eyes went wide. She shook her head, stepping back. “No! Please, no! I only wanted what was mine! I only wanted Damien! I did it for love!”
The light grew brighter. A voice echoed, not like a human voice, but like the wind, soft and heavy at the same time.
“Clara… you turned from truth. You fed hate in your heart. You betrayed the pack I gave you. You lied against the bond I blessed. For this, your wolf will be no more.”
Clara screamed. “No! Please! Forgive me! I will change!” She fell to her knees, her hands shaking. “Please, don’t take my wolf! I beg you! I am nothing without her!”
The light poured over her body. She screamed louder, clawing at her own skin as if she could stop it. But nothing stopped it. The golden light ripped through her, pulling the wolf spirit from her soul.
Everyone watched in silence. Clara’s body shook, her scream echoing until it broke into silence. A shadow left her chest, rising in the light, and then it was gone.
She fell to the ground, weak and shaking. Her eyes were empty, her aura gone. She was no longer wolf. She was only human.
The pack gasped. Some looked away. Others spat on the ground.
“She is nothing now.”
“She brought this on herself.”
“She betrayed us all.”
Clara lifted her face, tears streaming down. “Please… Damien… forgive me. Take me back. I can still be your mate. I can still—”
Damien’s growl shook the earth. “Never.” His eyes glowed sharp, his voice like thunder. “You are no longer part of us. You are banished. You will live with the weight of your choice, far away from this land. If you ever return, you will die.”
Clara sobbed. “Damien, please! Elara! Please! Help me!”
Elara’s heart tightened, but she did not move. She saw the truth now. Clara had chosen hate, and hate had eaten her alive.
The elders turned their backs on Clara. Warriors dragged her away from the battlefield, her cries fading into the night. She was no longer one of them. She was nothing.
The pack lifted their heads again, howling to the sky in thanks to the Moon Goddess. Their voices were strong, their hearts burning.
But even as the howl filled the air, the ground shook again. Lucien’s growl cut through the night. He had seen everything. His eyes were full of rage and madness.
He rose to his feet, blood dripping, his red eyes brighter than ever. “You think this is over?!” he roared. “I will not fall like her! I will take your throne, Damien! I will kill your Luna! I will burn this whole land!”
The final fight was not done.
