An Inevitable Outcome 5

Author’s note: dear readers, I am sorry there was no update yesterday, but things will be back on track from tomorrow.

Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could suggest me names befitting a magical realm, as well as a simple female character.

May you guys enjoy this chapter.😊

Back to the story…

(Author’s Point of View.)

Reagan was doing everything he could to counter Amelia’s attack and not hurt her in any way; even though she only saw him right now as someone who stood on her way to killing those people who had hurt her. Furthermore, he could not connect with her through their mate bond. She was extremely powerful and the only way for him to easily subdue her was to merge with not just his wolf, but his vampire side as well in other to fully gain access to his abilities. Of course, that is something he clearly does not wish to do, and he was barely holding unto his last restraint.

“You cannot fight her alone; her darkness is too strong. At least not until you break your restriction and merge with your other self,” Shainu yelled as she struggled to push forward from the barrier Reagan had created to shield them from himself and Amelia.

“What? You cannot allow that to happen!” Both Griffin and Charles voiced out at the same time.

“The last time that happened two centuries ago, he almost drained the whole village,” Griffin informed. “If not for the chains of thebe, we would be dead as well.”

Shainu’s eyes widened. “What?” It was her turn to exclaim. “How is that possible? He almost drained the whole village?” She asked in disbelief.

“Yes, he did! He was so out of control and looked like a demon had possessed him,” Charles said with a shrug. “That was the day we found out about him being a hybrid and as well as seeing him lose himself like that,” Charles added.

Even though he and Griffin were the two people Reagan ever connected with since he showed up out of nowhere and became their King, still, there were a lot of things he kept to himself. For example, they never knew who Reagan really was, nor did they have any idea where he came from.

Shainu was silent for a couple of seconds. This current information was hard to digest. “What colour was his eyes when this happened?” She asked after a moment of silence. “Most importantly, how did you manage to stop him?” Shainu asked lifting her eyebrows. It’s not like she finds the duo to be weak, they are actually very capable. However, knowing how incredibly strong Reagan would become when he merges with both his sides, she couldn’t help but wonder how these two were able to trounce him.

“Red of course! What else could it be?” Charles replied uninterestedly. There was more pressing matter at hand, and asking about the obvious, was not something they should be engaging on right now, he thought.

“Not just any red, but the darkest shade of its colour,” Griffin chimed in. “And we didn’t stop him, he did so himself. What I mean is, he had managed to tell us what to do and where the chain was. So, we locked him up in the secret chamber until he was back to normal again. What’s more, in other to cover up his mess and to avoid arousing suspicions amongst the Elders, we captured a couple of rogues and fed them his blood as he had instructed us to do, with the intention to turn them into vampires, and it worked, then we killed them all afterwards to make it look like they were responsible for the deaths of those innocent wolves. Which of course was a hassle because those vamps were so damn strong that if not for the chains they were in, it would have been a suicide mission,” Griffin elucidated.

“Furthermore, in other for the council to not speculate about the whole occurrence, particularly about the King’s sudden absence, we spread news of the King being severely injured and poisoned during the fight,” Charles throw-in. “That only worked, thanks to his mind control thing that made the villagers believe he was truly in a critical condition; thus, the council members bought that excuse. Besides, they could not ask to see the King as that would mean putting his safety at risk which they clearly knew was never an option, hence, they had no choice but to swallow whatever we fed them.”

“I see… They did not merge and that was a good thing,” Shainu said in relief. However, seeing how beyond the barrier looked like a tornado had erupted and was completely shielding the two figures from sight, she could not help but dread the uncertain outcome. Yes, she is a powerful witch herself, still, she could not take Reagan alone knowing how that would be suicidal. In the sense that, he is not just any normal hybrid, both his wolf and vampire were far from being normal, and it would seem so is Amelia. Thus, she could only hope things do not get ugly to the point that, they would have to use every means necessary in bringing them both down.

Shainu sighed. “We will remain here and wait for whatever may come!” She uttered. “By the way, where is that chain now?” She inquired.

“In the secret chamber!” Both Charles and Griffin answered at the same time.

“The question is, how do we get to him?” Charles sighed hopelessly seeing the scene in front of his naked eyes. “What if they both give in to their inner demons and kill us all?”

Recalling how thrilled he was when he realised the girl, they almost ran over was none other than the King’s mate that day they first met her, thinking he would eventually be able to overcome his inner conflict. Sadly, witnessing such an unforeseen turn of events right now, he could not help but think otherwise.

In all the possible outcomes Charles had anticipated, never for once had he considered this happening to be one of the aftermaths.

“What if he kills her?” Griffin asked worriedly, even though their usually pure and kind-hearted Queen was now the goddess of hell, still, he couldn’t help but wish for her safety. What’s more, the idea of their evil King unleashing, as that would be the case should he unintentionally kill his mate, is something no one wants to encounter. He surmised inwardly.

“He won’t kill her as that would literally mean his own death,” Shainu replied. “Of course, that is if they both could actually die because I am certain even if they could, it won’t be that easy.”

“You mean she is now like him, and they both would literally live forever?” Griffin asked in amusement.

“Not necessarily. We all have an expiring date,” Shainu paused then waved her hand in the air before she continued, “Like me, I had lived three hundred years of my life in youthfulness, but that changed filthy years ago as I suddenly began to age. Just like you wolves get to live between a hundred to five hundred years depending on how powerful your essence is, witches are also the same. Only the vampires get to live longer but also not forever,” Shainu explained.

Just then, the three of them suddenly held their breath in apprehension, seeing how the darkness that was twirling around like a hurricane a moment ago, was now diminishing.

After an infinite second passed, the thick mist finally faded to reveal an unconscious Amelia on the floor, with Reagan nowhere in sight.

Without a second thought, Shainu quickly dropped her own shield she had created for double safety, and the trio dashed towards the silhouette who laid motionless on the floor.
