Chapter 52
Amira's POV.
Two years later…
Ava hadn’t disappointed us one bit. The projects were up and running for a year already and the results were positive, better than Nikolas and I could’ve hoped for. The bridge to unity between all werewolves of all types was strong. The acceptance was incredible and there truly wasn’t anything else we could’ve wished for as of right now.
I stood in the library and slowly walked to the large window that had a view over the garden in the back. A gentle smile played on my lips as I gazed outward, my heart warming at the sight—my favorite sight, Nikolas dressed in full black and skin-hugging athletic wear that embraced his form, every contour and sinew defined. The sheen of sweat, an ode to his relentless exertion, painted every inch of his chiseled physique... The moon has affected my thinking since last night and it would only become worse, I’d be just as obsessed with Nikolas as he is with me. Pure love and lust.
Life had found its rhythm, a smooth and harmonious cadence. Day after day, I discovered myself falling deeper into a profound affection for the alpha king, Nikolas. It was a sentiment I never anticipated, one that seemed to defy reason. Who would have thought that a man of such authority could kindle a fire of attraction within me?
There was a raw magnetism in witnessing Nikolas engage in his daily routines. Whether it was leading his men through their training drills, tenderly tending to the wolves that roamed our land, or nurturing the younger members of our pack, he seemed to exude an innate strength that held everyone, including me, in thrall.
But it was more than just his actions; it was the essence of him. The way he took charge, his unwavering dedication to our pack's welfare, and the fierce protection he provided for all that we held dear—it all spoke to something primal within me, a part of my being that I hadn't known existed.
I couldn't help but watch, transfixed, as Nikolas immersed himself in his responsibilities. There was a graceful power to his movements, a quiet determination that resonated deeply. And as I continued to observe, I realized that it wasn't just his authority that drew me in—it was the unwavering passion he poured into every task, the way he carried the weight of our pack's safety on his shoulders.
With each passing day, my admiration for him grew stronger. It was as if every facet of his being, every choice he made, was a testament to his commitment not just as a leader, but as a protector, a provider, and a caretaker. There was an unspoken understanding between us, a connection that defied explanation.
I snapped back to reality and retraced my steps, returning to the cozy spot where my books, notes, and pencils awaited. Mila's absence was palpable, and a pang of longing tugged at my heart. We used to study side by side and had been doing so this entire week– however, today, Mila’s Luna duties had taken her time and as much as Caine had wished to let her study instead, Mila stood firmly. She wanted to prove she could do both her studies and be a Luna and well, Mila sure had great pride so of course with the love and support of her husband, family and me she was able to do just about everything.
My attention shifted back to my scattered materials, each item a testament to my determination. I sifted through the pages, revisiting the parts I had highlighted—the culmination of hours of effort and unwavering focus. Just one more exam, only one. I could do this.
The hours slipped away, each minute dedication to my determination as I poured over my notes, revising until the material felt like second nature. With a sense of accomplishment settling over me, I finally closed my textbook, my preparations complete. The last exam awaited me tomorrow, and a wave of readiness washed over me. A relieved sigh escaped my lips as I settled further into my chair, letting my eyes drift shut and my head tip back.
A familiar and comforting scent gently brushed against my senses, and a smile tugged at the corners of my mouth. Even though Nikolas attempted to move as quietly as a shadow, the essence of our shared nature betrayed his presence. A playful game unfolded, a dance of concealment and revelation that we both relished even as though our Were powers ruined the surprise.
"Hello, wife," Nikolas's voice, warm and intimate, caressed my ears as he leaned down to press a soft kiss against my cheek.
"Hello, husband," I responded with a smile, my gaze lifting to meet his as my heart swelled with affection. In his hands, he held two cups of steaming hot chocolate—a gesture that never failed to warm me, both inside and out.
A gentle tease laced his words as he inquired, "Are you a doctor yet?" He placed one of the cups on the table before me.
I chuckled softly, shaking my head. "My king, I still have another year to go," I replied, my fingers curling around the cup as I took a slow sip of the comforting hot chocolate. It was as though he possessed an innate understanding of my needs, always there with the right gesture at the right time.
Nikolas sighed and said dramatically, "This is taking longer than I anticipated."
I offered a gentle reminder, my hand finding its way to his knee as I patted it affectionately. "In the human world, it's a much more extended journey," I noted, my gaze sweeping over the array of books and notes that adorned the table. Despite his theatrical demeanor, his pride and unwavering support never lacked. He seemed even more proud than I was and never missed a chance to make the younglings in our pack aware of ancient healing, even trying to enlighten some to choose this path when they grow older.
His attention turned to my study materials, and he inquired, "How's the studying coming along?"
I couldn't help but grin, a mixture of excitement and determination shining in my eyes. "Great. I'm ready for my final exam, and you know what comes after that, right?"
A spark of anticipation danced in Nikolas's gaze. "The wedding of the century," he said with genuine enthusiasm. "I can hardly wait to marry you all over again."
Nikolas's empty cup found its place on the table, and his proximity to me intensified. In one smooth motion, he pulled me up to straddle his lap, our closeness igniting a sweet intimacy. As our lips met in a tender kiss, the taste of chocolate lingered, a perfect complement to the affection that flowed between us.
A mischievous glint lit up his eyes as he playfully continued, "Have you considered lifting the sex ban? Perhaps you've had a change of heart?"
I couldn't help but laugh against his lips, our connection a symphony of shared laughter and affection. Gently pulling away, I met his gaze, a hint of a secret shimmering in my eyes.
Well, I might have toyed with the idea of ending our sex for only a short while. The truth was that I had other plans. The sex ban was merely a playful tease, a beginning to what was to come—a surprise I had been harboring for the past three weeks, a secret that held the power to make him happier than he could imagine. That and I figured since our wedding night was on a full moon, things were bound to become more intense and romantic.
“Fine, are you coming down for dinner?” Nikolas wondered, placing his hands on my waist.
“Yes, my king, come on then.” I got off of him. I sauntered towards the kitchen, Nikolas following right behind me.

The sun's gentle rays spilled across the pack's territory, casting a soft glow over the day that lay ahead. It was a day I had been eagerly anticipating, a day that held a special place in my heart. Yesterday's successful exam had faded into the background, making way for the excitement and nervous energy that pulsed through me now.
In the midst of the bustling preparations, I found myself surrounded by an array of white fabric and fragrant flowers. Mila, my closest friend, moved beside me, her enthusiasm contagious– She and Chloe helped me plan the wedding and let’s just say it was such a pleasure to work with them and to have them understand me and each other. The significance of this day settled over me, a mix of joy and anticipation that made my heart race. I’d be sharing my love with all of them, after the fake wedding Nikolas and I did a lot of thinking and we wish to renew our wedding. This time to our taste.
Nikolas, my rock, my king, my lover, was fully immersed in the preparations with his friends. His friendship with his best friend, King Ronan and Alpha Caine was evident in their easy banter and shared laughter. The presence of Queen Chloe added a touch of warmth and elegance to the scene, soothing my nerves with her calm demeanor next to me. Whereas Mila was dripping with excitement they were perfect for me.
My gaze briefly swept over Nikolas's parents, Jacob and Andrea, our strained relationship a shadow that loomed over the day. Despite the tension, a glimmer of hope remained—a hope that today might pave the way for healing and reconciliation. I haven’t forgiven them 100% but we’re getting there surely.
Tessa, Nikolas's sister, moved with grace as she walked past old pack members, engaging in conversations with her old friends she had left behind and next to her stood her husband, Liam. I only met him a handful of times but he surely made Tessa happy and that was what was important.
As the time drew closer, I found myself standing before a mirror, dressed in a vision of white. Mila's reflection stood beside mine, her eyes meeting mine with an understanding that ran deep. "You look absolutely stunning, Amira," she whispered, her voice brimming with genuine admiration.
“Nikolas will go crazy,” Tessa whispered.
A surge of emotion welled up within me, gratitude for the friends who had become my family. "Thank you, Mila, Tessa," I replied, my voice tinged with joy.
The strains of music filled the air, signaling the beginning of the ceremony. My heart quickened its pace as I picked up my bouquet, my breath catching in my throat as I prepared to make my entrance. Wish you were here Dad.
Nikolas, looking dashing in his regal attire, stood waiting at the altar, his eyes fixed on the path that led to me. A glance from King Ronan, his best man, conveyed silent encouragement, a testament to their unbreakable bond. On this wedding day, he was actually happy and smiling.
As I walked down the aisle, my heart seemed to beat in time with the soft melody that enveloped us. Nikolas's gaze met mine, a magnetic pull that bridged the space between us. With each step, the world faded away, leaving only the two of us standing before each other.
As we stood side by side, I felt a profound sense of unity and connection. The ceremony unfolded, a tapestry of heartfelt vows and promises that spoke to the depth of our love and were all real. Our hands found each other's, and as we exchanged rings, I felt the weight of our commitment settle over me, a feeling of completeness.
Our first kiss as remarried husband and wife was met with a chorus of claps and celebration from our attendees.
The festivities that followed were a whirlwind of laughter, dancing, and shared moments of happiness. I caught glimpses of Nikolas's parents, Jacob and Andrea, exchanging looks towards us, they had given us all the space we asked for. They were here on an invite which I extended to them even though Nikolas was still iffy, I could tell he missed them.
Tessa and Liam's laughter echoed through the air, a reminder of the bonds that held us together. Mila and Caine shared tender moments, their love a testament to the strength of our relationship. It was a night full of love, exactly how I had wanted it.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm and golden glow over our gathering, Nikolas and I found ourselves wrapped in a loving embrace.
“Need help with that?” Nikolas came up from behind me, staring at me through the mirror. I moved my hand up, carefully caressing his face. Now was the time to tell him. I had to tell him.
“Nikolas, I have to confess something,” I turned around, taking his hands in mine.
A frown formed on his face as he waited for me to keep talking. I could see nerves settling on his face as it did with me. I took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”
His eyes widened, his mouth opened but nothing else came out. Oh shit, was I wrong? Did he not want to start a family yet? I mean it was also a surprise to me when I found out. We had planned to wait until I finished my study but life sure had a mysterious way of working.
“Amira, I-” Nikolas was speechless and just pulled me in for a tight hug. “Words can’t describe how fucking happy I am right now knowing that you’re carrying our first pup," he whispered in my ear then pulled away, carefully cupping my face and leaned down to kiss me slowly.
