Chapter 34 The Point Of No Return

Chapter 34 The Point Of No Return

Aileen's POV
(When the boys found them at the club)

I was having so much fun, probably more than I should, but I didn't want to think especially about my brother's Gamma who was choosing to be stubborn.

“What do you say we go to my place, tonight?" He asked, leaning in close enough for his breath to brush against my ear. “Show you a good time?"

Maybe it was because I was drunk or that I wanted to release my pent up frustration and he was the perfect person…. Human, a good looking one at that and I didn't have to worry about getting attached and he also wouldn't be seeing me again, he was perfect.

So I nodded, “let's do it."

He grinned, and before I could second-guess myself, his lips crashed against mine. The kiss was wild, fueled by alcohol and all the frustration I’d been trying to drown.

Then, out of nowhere, a growl tore through the noise of the club, low, threatening, and impossible to ignore.

The next thing I knew, the guy was yanked away from me, his body hitting the floor with a thud as Tristan’s fist connected with his jaw.

“What the hell do you think you're doing?” Tristan snarled, towering over him, his chest rising and falling like he was seconds away from losing it completely.

“None of your f-fucking business.” I responded, rushing to the guy now laying on the floor and groaning in pain as he clutched his jaw. But just as I got close enough to hold him, Tristan lifted me, throwing me over his shoulder.

“He's so strong," Raela cooed.

"Not now,” I snapped at her. "Put me down.” I ordered, but he was barely paying attention to me. His hand tightened around me.

Only when we got to the car, did he put me down while glaring at me like I took something that belonged to him. I crossed my hand, waiting for him to say something but he didn't and if his plan was to frustrate me, he was succeeding.

"What the fuck is your problem?” I screamed.

He kept staring at me and just as he opened his mouth to respond, I saw my brother carrying a very drunk Alyssa and Xavier doing the same thing with his mate, who couldn't shut up about whatever she was telling him.

Tristan sighed, muttering something under his breath before helping me into the passenger's side as the others sat at the back. He sat down in the driver's seat driving us back to the Pack. Apart from Alyssa's constant giggle and Aria excited chatter, nobody else said a word.

Once we got to the Pack, Zayne turned to Tristan, “take care of her." He ordered, and without waiting, he carried Alyssa away leaving me with a glaring Tristan.

“Let me go." I repeated, but it felt like I was talking to a deaf person because he held onto me until we came to the front of my room.

"Where's your key?” He asked, collecting my purse, that was strapped to my waist, to search. His finger, brushing against my bare skin and the shivers that was absent when I held the guy at the club came rushing back.

I shrugged, "Aria.” I replied, after he'd emptied the content of the purse. “Or was it Ally? I'm not sure." I laughed, enjoying the way his expression changed from confusion to frustration.

“Fuck Leena!" He groaned softly, pulling me closer as we started walking in the opposite direction where his room was.

"I can take care of myself,” I insisted, struggling to free myself from his arms which was a waste of time as he was no doubt stronger than I was.

He opened the door the door and his smell engulfed me. When I suggested staying away from anything complicated, being in his arms, having his smell engulf me was definitely not among the things I had planned. He helped me sit on the bed while he disappeared into the bathroom, returning a few minutes later holding a bowl containing water and a towel.

“Take this." He ordered, revealing the drug in his palms. “It'll help you with the hangover.”

"I'm not drunk.”

"Humor me then.” He said, putting the drug in my hand and opened the water on the that was on the beside table. This time around, I swallowed the drug.

Next, he took the towel, wrung out the excess water, and crouched down in front of me. His movements were careful, almost too careful, as if he was afraid to touch me. The soft fabric brushed against my skin when he wiped a spot near my jaw, and I hated how my body reacted to something so simple.

“Don't touch me," I said, moving backward like his hand was suddenly burning me.

"Leena…"

“You don't get to do this," I told him, “I'm giving you what you want, and it's already damn hard, so please…” I swallowed hard, trying to steady my breathing, “don’t make it harder than it already is.”

Tristan’s brows drew together. “You think this is what I’m trying to do?”

I gave a bitter laugh. “What else would you call it? You show up every time I try to move on—”

“Move on?” he cut in sharply, his tone hardening as he put a space between us.“Is that what that was tonight? That human you were all over?”

My stomach twisted. “You don’t get to bring him up.”

“The hell I don’t.” His voice was low, rough, like it took effort to keep it steady. “I saw you with him, Leena. You let him touch you and he—” He stopped himself, jaw tightening“You shouldn’t have been with him.”

“Why do you care?” I shot back. “You made it clear that you wanted distance, so I found someone who wasn’t going to mess with my head every five seconds.”

Tristan took a slow step toward me. “You really think he was going to make you forget me?”

I met his gaze, defiant. “That was the point.”

Silence stretched between us, thick and heavy. His breathing was uneven now, matching mine.

“Then why does it bother you?” I whispered.

He didn’t answer. Instead, he closed the distance between us in two quick strides. His hand came up, brushing my cheek despite my earlier protest. “Because I can’t stand the thought of anyone else touching you,” he said, voice rough and low.

Before I could respond, his lips crashed against mine, desperate, and furious all at once. I should’ve pushed him away, remnding him that this wasn't what he said barely a day ago, but instead, my hands found his shirt, pulling him closer.

My wolf let out a moan as the kiss deepened. It was everything I imagined and even better than the last time it happened.

After what seemed like forever, he pulled away, earning a displeased sound. “Fuck Leena! You're drunk, and you'll hate me in the morning."

I shook my head, “I'm going to hate you if you don't give me what I want." I told him truthfully. Not adding the fact that even if I don't remember anything the next morning, I'd still be glad it happened.

He thought about it for a few seconds before letting out a low, frustrated groan and dragging a hand through his hair.

“Damn it,” he muttered, pacing a short distance away like he was trying to convince himself not to come back. But he did.

When he turned around, his eyes were darker than I’d ever seen them, the last bit of restraint fading away. “You have no idea what you’re asking for,” he said, his voice rough, almost broken.

I stood up, closing the space between us until my chest brushed his. “Then show me,” I whispered, my heart hammering.

He hesitated only a heartbeat longer before his resolve snapped completely. His hand cupped the back of my neck, pulling me into another kiss, slower this time, like he was memorizing the way I tasted. My fingers tangled in his shirt, tugging him closer until there was no space left between us.

He backed me against the wall, his forehead resting against mine as our breaths mingled. “You’re going to be the death of me,” he whispered.

“I could say exactly the same about him.” I thought, as my top fell to the ground.
