Chapter 33 Bad Decision Club

Chapter 33 Bad Decision Club

Alyssa's POV

I woke up alone the next morning with a pounding headache and no recollection of what happened the previous day. The last thing I remembered was Aria giving me my third or fourth shot…or was it when Aileen insisted on bringing back the guy she was dancing with? I wasn't sure anymore.

“Nira, do you remember what happened last night?” I asked my wolf.

“If I tell you, do you think you can handle it?" She replied, and that definitely doesn't sound good.

A loud groan escaped my lips, “just what the fuck did I do?” I thought, pushing myself up from the bed to go to the bathroom.

"But if you must know, you gave our mate a strip dance,” Nira said, her voice definitely mocking me. “I must say he was very impressed with it…we should do it more often.” She added.

I splashed water on my face, hopefully it would return some of my sanity because I'm sure I lost some of it last night.

The door burst open just as I finished dressing up and Zayne entered. I turned my back to him in embarrassment, the same moment Mira snorted, “nothing you do is going to clear up what you did last night…and you're quite a good dancer, so nothing to be ashamed of.”

I swear she was doing this on purpose.

"Can you stop reminding me?” I groaned.

"Red baby,” Zayne called, coming closer, his arms wrapped around my waist and my embarrassment was forgotten for a moment as I let myself enjoy being in his arms.

"You had me worried last night,” he started softly, and I felt a wave of guilt hit me as he continued. "I don't think I'm going to survive if anything happens to you."

Now that I knew him better, I understood where he was coming from. He already lost a mate, losing another one would completely wreck him.

I turned to face him, my gaze meeting his own. “I'm sorry, I just…” I hesitated, I couldn't exactly tell him that his sister was the main reason I went to the club in the first place or that Tristan broke her heart.

"It's not going to happen again," I said instead. “I'll tell you before I go next time."

He let out a loud groan as he pulled me into a hug, his scent filling my nostrils. “You are supposed to leave it at ‘it's not going to happen’." He murmured, “you're going to be the death of me." He added.

“I like the sound of that." I told him, standing on my toes to kiss him. “Why are you so tall?"

“I didn't hear you complaining last night." He said, kissing my lips again. I didn't need anyone to tell me that I was the same colour as my hair. I'm not sure I wanted the details of what I did when I was drunk.

Zayne kissed my forehead one more time before turning to leave. He told me how he might be busy since they found a new clue on what they were looking for. I simply nodded and watched him exit the room before I finished getting ready so I could meet the girls and be sure that they were fine as well.

The first person I saw when I opened the door was a girl…woman, who was probably a foot than me and well built, standing in front of the door, her hand behind her back but was at her side immediately she saw me.

“Good morning, Luna." She greeted, her voice loud enough to clear my hangover completely. "My name is Mel, and I'll be your bodyguard for now.”

I frowned, I didn't need anyone hovering over me all day. Nira snorted, “after last night, I'm surprised he isn't making you go everywhere with him."

“It's not a completely bad idea." I murmured before I could stop myself and she just shook her head, adding how I found new ways to catch her by surprise..

Mel didn't give me any breathing space as she hovered over him. Complaining to Zayne through our mindlink didn't work as he just chuckled and told me she would be in the shadows so that he wouldn't have to worry when he wasn't with me…shadows my foot, she was literally breathing down my neck.

The girls were in the same situation as me, completely hungover but the two of them had a smile on their faces.

“What happened last night?" I asked, throwing myself between Aria and Aileen. Mel stood about five feet away, not taking her gaze off me. Her eyes sharp, as if she was guarding royalty.

“Don't remind me," Aria groaned. “Xavier is still mad at me, but at least, something good came out of it."

My brows furrowed, but once I saw the look on her face, there was no need for her to go into details. But she did anyway. “I think I'm going to be more rebellious now," she said, a mischievous grin tugging at her lips“I realise everything is better when there's a lot of chaos and energy."

Aileen's face lit up at that, “You're so right. Let's do this more often."

"Hold on?” I started, rubbing my temple, "did you really bring back the guy you were dancing with at the club? How did Zayne allow that to happen?”

Her grin widened, and I immediately knew I wasn’t going to like what came next.

“Oh, goddess,” I muttered, dragging a hand down my face. “You didn’t.”

“I did,” she said, her tone unapologetic. “But before you start freaking out—it wasn’t the guy from the club.”

I blinked, confused. “Then who—” I started, thinking about who else it could've been, but no one else came to mind.

“Tristan,” she said her smile widening. “I mean, it wasn't like I planned for it to happen but damn if I don't mind a reenactment right now.”

Mel cleared her throat before I could respond and the three of us looked up at her, her face a bright shade of red. “Why is she here again?" Aria asked.

I shrugged, “thanks to last night, I earned myself a bodyguard…at least she's pretty.” I added, causing Mel to smile, not hiding the fact that she could obviously hear us.

"But did it also earn you a long steamy night with my brother?” Aileen asked, wiggling her brows suggestively. "How are you able to walk properly?”

Since it was established that Mel could definitely hear us, I looked around to make sure nobody else heard her. "Nothing like that happened, I slept off after losing my mind for a few minutes.”

"I wouldn't exactly call it that,” Nira said, "it's more of expressing your deepest desires.”

"Not helping.” I groaned.

The girls stared at me like I was suddenly speaking a different language. I mean, I was trying not to read too much meaning into in. Maybe I was ready to move things forward with him, but I had no idea how to tell him.

“Oh my gosh!" Aria exclaimed, "you guys haven't done it yet? What happened to all the things we bought?”

I didn't answer that because I knew what their reaction would be. The lingeries we got were hidden in the safest place. One I know Zayne won't be looking at anytime soon."

“We have a lot of work to do." Aria said, standing up and pulling me with her.

I let her lead me away alongside Aileen and Mel, who kept a safe distance from us. But I was certain by the end of a month, if Zayne still haven't changed his mind about having her follow me around, she would be a completely different person.
