Chapter 31 Girl's Night Gone Wrong
Alyssa's POV
We took turns taking our bath again as Aria got started on our makeups while Aileen picked the outfit suitable for the party we were going to.
I hesitated for a moment, knowing Zayne would definitely throw a tantrum if he knew but I also hated seeing Aileen, who was usually all smiles, heartbroken because Tristan wasn't sure what he wanted. One minute it felt like he was going to confess his feelings-one that everyone could see, but instead, he did the opposite.
I really do not understand what went on through men's heads and for a split second, I found myself thinking about Ryder.
“It's not the same thing,” Nira reminded me. I nodded, while we were mates, Tristan and Aileen weren't and it was in situations like this that made me convinced that the moon goddess could be brutal.
“Oh my gosh!" Aria gasped, placing a hand over her chest dramatically. “I can see why Alpha is so obsessed with you." She said, placing a large mirror in front of me.
I gasped, putting a hand over my mouth. The person staring back at me didn't look like me at all. My hair was curled loosely and packed in a messy bun with a strand falling over my face. My make up in one word, was flawless.
“Now, that's a proper reaction to beauty,” Aileen said, chuckling at my dropped jaw. "It'll be even more perfect when you wear the outfit I picked out for you.”
She chose a gown that stopped above my knee due to my hips and our different sizes. It was an emerald green dress with tiny straps…a look that I never thought I could pull off, but here we are.
The girls did their makeup as well but instead of gowns, they opted for boyfriend jeans and a crop top which came out equally beautiful.
“How are we going to leave without being seen?" I asked about thirty minutes when we were ready to leave.
Aria smirked, "you're the Luna, which means we can get away with a whole lot of things.”
"I'm not the Luna…at least, not yet."
Aileen rolled her eyes, “forget the official ceremony and shit, you're already the Luna.” she said, and Aria nodded her head in agreement.
When we were sure the guys were busy and locked up in the office, the three of us made our way to the garage where the cars were, ignoring the looks from the Pack members. I felt confident and good for the first time.
“Luna?" One of the warriors watching the garage called on seeing us. The confusion on his face grew with each passing second.
“We're going out," I told him, trying to keep my voice steady.
“You're the Luna, stop acting like you're scared of him." Nira said, “he’s going to do whatever you say but that's not going to happen if you don't act like you're in charge."
I looked at the girls who were waiting for whatever I was going to say and at the warrior who wore a look I couldn't quite place.
Swallowing hard, my gaze met that of the warrior, “We're taking that car, get it ready." I ordered, the words tumbling out before I could stop it.
"Yes Luna,” he said, disappearing further into the garage, returning a few minutes later with the car key.
"And that's how you do it!" Aria exclaimed, collecting the key with a proud smile.
Aileen sat in front with Aria while I made myself comfortable at the back. Throughout the ride, we sang along to the songs from the radio, laughing and talking about all sorts of things. And Aileen did seem to be in a better mood, laughing and making jokes.
“I can't believe you've never been to a party before.”
"I was so busy trying to fit in," I told them truthfully, “I didn't have friends and everyone in the Pack didn't want to be associated with a wolf-less Omega." I finished with a scoff.
"Their loss, we're going to show you how to have fun.” Aileen promised and I found myself looking forward to everything.
The club was in the city, so the ride took about an hour. A lot of people were lined outside but once the bouncer saw us, he let us in without any question.
"Does Zayne own this place as well?” I asked, entering the large building.
"He's going to throw a fit if he knows about it," Aileen replied. “But what he doesn't know won't hurt him."
Nira snorted, but didn't say anything which was surprising since she always has something to say…even if it was a sarcastic comment.
The music hit me like a wave the moment we stepped inside. The air was warm, heavy with the scent of perfume, alcohol, and something electric that made my skin tingle. Lights flashed across the dance floor, and bodies moved in rhythm like they’d all agreed to let the night swallow them whole.
Aileen grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the bar. “First things first—shots,” she announced over the music.
The bartender didn’t even ask for IDs. He smiled like he already knew who we were and lined up three shot glasses, each filled to the brim.
“To freedom from men,” Aileen said, raising her glass.
“To bad decisions,” Aria added, her lips curving into a smirk.
I hesitated for only a second before clinking mine against theirs. “And to us,” I said, the words tasting both wild and right.
The liquid burned going down, but the warmth that followed made me laugh. Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was the music, or maybe it was the fact that for once, I wasn’t thinking about anything.
Aileen grinned. “Come on. Dance with me before you start thinking too much again.”
Before I could answer, she tugged me onto the dance floor. The crowd swallowed us whole, lights flashing against her golden hair as she moved like she owned the room.
I let the music take over, shaking my body like nothing else mattered. Aria was dancing with someone else while Aileen had her hand around a man. He was good looking no doubt and would probably make a good replacement for Tristan.
“This is so much fun!" Aria screamed, giving me one of the shots she was holding.
“I know, I can't believe I've never done this before." I replied, equally screaming. “Let's do this again."
“I hope you can say that again in the morning." Nira said but I just pushed her to the back of my mind.
“He's so cute, can I take him home home?" Aileen asked, slurring as she draped one hand over my shoulder while the other one held the guy she was dancing with.
Aria nodded, “definitely!" She agreed, “I-I t-think he looks beau-some."
“No more talking…more dancing." She yelled, dragging the man away and he really doesn't seem to mind.
For someone who had never really taken alcohol, I couldn't count the number of shots I'd already taken. At some point, I lost track after the fifth one. Or maybe it was the sixth. The floor kept spinning, and I couldn’t tell if it was from the music or the alcohol pulsing through my veins.
Everything felt louder and brighter—even the air seemed to buzz against my skin.
I laughed at something Aria said, though I didn’t quite catch it, and stumbled toward the bar for water I never found.
“Whoa there,” someone said, steadying me with a firm grip on my arm.
I blinked up, trying to focus. The face was unfamiliar sharp jawline, dark hair, eyes that glinted under the strobe lights.
“You okay?” he asked, his voice low but cutting through the noise.
“Yeah,” I said, nodding way too fast. “I’m just… having fun.”
He nodded, saying something along the lines of how it wasn't good for a pretty girl to be alone. But as his hand touched my waist, it felt wrong so I pushed him away.
“We're just going to have a little bit of fun together." He said, leaning in again and I pushed him away, looking around for either Aria or Aileen but the both of them were no where
to be found.
But before he could react, a figure caught my eyes…Zayne, and boy does he not look happy.
