Thirty nine

N A T A L I A.

Waking up, my eyes met with the rays of light that emitted into my room. The cool breeze tryst graced my skin and made me feel some sort of joy run through me.

"Lia!" I heard Sophie's voice from outside. I got up in a swift motion and made my way towards the door immediately, I pulled the door knob open to find her staring at me with so much frustration in her eyes.

"What's the time?" I asked she tapped her foot lightly on the floor and I couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm so sorry Sophie, you made me stay up all night, remember?" I said. She rolled her eyes.

"Be out in two minutes, you are late for your interview young lady, and the breakfast I made you is getting very cold." She said. I chuckled.

"I see this was all about breakfast!" I said.

"Yeah, you have an ulcer and the doctor said you shouldn't mess with your meal, so get your dragon ass ready and come have breakfast." She said, I could see Bradox rolling his eyes at the moment.

"My dragon hates you!" I said before shutting the door lock, I could hear her laughing before walking away. I headed into the bathroom and stripped and immediately took a very cool bath. I was late for a job interview, I have been living here for a year now and I had successfully enrolled in a course that lasted a year and got a degree, which I'll be using in applying for a job in the Lethal company. I know, the name brings back so many memories but I'll have to push things behind me because I do not want to remember anything that has to do with that life, a life that I had never felt what true happiness truly was.

Nevertheless, I came out of the bathroom and got dressed in haste, especially after glancing at the time and seeing that it was almost 9 pm, I was already late for my interview. I immediately got dressed in a very cooperate dress, I headed towards the mirror and glanced at myself, I didn’t fail to see how amazing my new brown hair looked on me. I had dyed my hair in other to fit in here, I wanted to feel normal and I was glad that my dad was a reliable friend like Sophie, who looked out for me very greatly.

I immediately scurried out of my room and headed downstairs, she was peacefully seated in the dining room and having a cup of coffee, as usual, this was always her morning routine.

“Hey, bitch!” I said, I slumped on the chair next to her and grabbed a piece of toast, and shoved it into my mouth immediately.

“What?” I asked when I saw the stare she was giving me.

“It’s nothing, I’m just shocked by the way you’re eating this morning, you seem to be in a jolly mode.” She said, I nodded and gulped down the cup of coffee that lay before me.

“I sure am! Where is my car key?”

I asked in shock. She chuckled and placed them before me.

“Here is your wristwatch and a pen, just in case you need to sign a document, it looks very professional when you come with your pen.” She said, I nodded great fully.

“You’re the best Sophie, I love you so much!” I said to her, and she giggled.

“I love you too Natalia, now, go bag that job.” She said, she gave me a handshake and I shook her happily. I picked up everything and stuffed them in my pocket.

“Bye!” I waved at her before running off, I was already late for the interview age I didn’t I’ll get the job, Rowland was the one that recommended me to the boss and he sent me a request stating he wanted to interview me. I was very excited when I got that request because it was not easy getting a request like that in this era that we are in at the moment. Well, I hopped into my car and drove into the streets of the human territory, the office wasn’t far so I couldn’t wait to get there, the drive was not that long and In not less than fifteen minutes I was there. Stepping out of my car after parking it, a weird handsome-looking man was staring at me intently.

“Yeah? How may I help you?” I asked, his gaze was very frightening.

“You’re Natalia Lycus, right?” He asked and I nodded.

“I’m Dominic Lethal, your new boss.” He said, I raised my brow a bit.

“Yeah, you’re hired.” He said. A wide smile grew on my face.

R O M E.

My life felt very bad, I didn't know what to do any longer. It has been a year since Natalia left me and went to God knows where, I tried teleporting to her location through a location spell but it was fruitless. I couldn't find her and that hurt a lot. I've never imagined that I'd love someone so much, even when Emerald died, I didn't feel like this, the feeling I feel right now.

"Rome, there's a female rouge at the border, she was found laying there naked." I turned around to find Dimitri standing beside the door and speaking to me.

"Kill her, kill any rouge who trespasses," I said, I was very angry. I wasn't thinking straight.

"Rome, she's with child," Dimitri said, I turned around furiously.

"I said fucking kill her, she knew what she was bargaining for when she came into my territory!" I snapped, and he raised his brow in question.

"This isn't you Rome, you're just sad because Na-" I raised my arm in the air.

"Don't fucking call her name! Don't!" I said sternly. He took in a deep breath and nodded.

"I'm not killing the rouge, I'll just let her go, she's with child Rome." He said, my Alpha didn't like the fact that he was defying me but I tried to keep my calm and focused my attention on the poem I was writing. I turned around again to find out that Dimitri had left. I sighed and got up, I needed fresh air. I walked over to the indoor garden, the sight here reminded me very much of Natalia, I didn't let anyone touch the paintings, I kept them safe. Blaze has been very distant this past year, he rarely speaks to me and our demon, and he blames our demon for losing Natalia.

"Alpha!" I heard a message through my mind link. It was my gamma.

"Yes," I responded through the mind link.

"We found her," He said, I didn't waste time teleporting into the tracking room.

"You found her?" I asked as soon as my eyes met his.

"Yes, she's in the human territory and she got a job in Alpha Dominic's company." He said, my heart skipped a beat, very usual.

"Alpha Dominic? That fucking perv?" I asked and he nodded.

"She's his assistant." He explained. I formed a fist, I don't like the idea of my mate working with such a pervert like Alpha Dominic.

"Put him on the phone!" I ordered, he nodded, he picked the phone up, and as soon as I heard the phone buzz, I grabbed it out of his arm.

"Dominic!" I called, I could hear his breath fanning on the speaker.

"What a pleasant surprise that you called me today, cousin," Dominic said. I rolled my eyes.

"My mate is working for you, your Queen, I'm sure you are aware of that," I said, from the way he cackled, I knew he had seen her.

"Yes, and isn't she a beauty!" He said, "I never knew you were into dragons!" He said, I rolled my eyes.

"I'm coming over to the human world tomorrow, have my office ready? Go it?" I said to him in full Alpha king mode, even my gamma had to look down as soon as I spoke in that tone.

"Anything for you Alpha king!" He tried acting as though my tone did not affect him but it was very visible from the way his words slurred out of his mouth.

I hung up and handed the phone over to my gamma, he collected it and dropped it on the table. I snapped my finger and Dimitri appeared before us with a bowl of popcorn in his arm.

"You know, I was about to watch a movie with my mate." He said, I chuckled.

"You're laughing, this means you've found her," He said, a wide smile spreading across his face. I nodded.

"But how?" He asked.

"With the help of Gamma Mike!" I placed my hand on my gamma's shoulder, he was smiling. I knew he felt proud of himself.

"Where is she right now?" He asked. I scowled my face.

"She got a job with Dominic!" I said with gritted teeth, Dimitri busted into laughter. I raised my brow.

"I'm sorry, but it's so funny that she's working with your cousin, in your company." He said, I rolled my eyes.

"I'm going there, there's no way I'm going to let that pervert be alone with my mate," I said sternly.

"Rome, I think you shouldn't go there, she will not be happy seeing you, give her some time." He said, I immediately sent a water spell flying towards him and he was drenched.

"What was that for? I was only kidding!" He said, I rolled my eyes, God, being around Hazel has made me used to rolling my eyes.

"From now on, you're the acting Alpha king, I'll be back in a month, I have to set things right with my mate," I said, Dimitri, didn't look happy at all.

"Do I have to do all the work? Why can't Mike do it?" Dimitri asked, Mike immediately looked away and focused his attention on the computer screen, I chuckled at Mike's behavior.

"You know? I could always make you act Alpha." I said to Mike, he chuckled nervously

"Nah, I'm good Alpha, my mate is heavily pregnant and she needs all my support at the moment." He said, I nodded.

"So? Dimitri, you're the acting Alpha, and that's it," I said, I didn't wait for him to say anything, I immediately teleported.

I got to my room, I took a very hot shower, and I got dressed in a baggy shirt and pants. It was night so I decided to sleep. I was very tired and tomorrow I had a long day ahead of me. I couldn't wait to see my mate once again, I never imagined that I'll ever love her as much as I do now, she was the only one on my mind and the only person I wanted to see desperately.
