Chapter Fifty Nine
Chapter Fifty Nine
The kiss was something I hadn't been prepared for, didn't know I needed.
Unlike during the heat, where everything was hazy and fast, this was equally overwhelming, yet I could feel everything.
His heartbeat, his thighs as they merged with mine, his hands as they cupped my cheeks, and his lips as they devoured mine, claimed it again and again.
“I've been feeling guilty for marking you like that,” he confessed, his voice a bit broken, “but fuck… when I taste you like this, I can't find a sliver of guilt to hold on to. Does that make me a terrible man?”
I smiled, kissing his Adam's apple and enjoying the way his body caved into mine.
“No baby,” I whispered, using my tongue to tease the spot my mark would sit if we one day cross this storm, “it makes you my mate. The goddess might hate me, but she gave me a mate who will do everything to protect me. That's what this Mark is.”
The emotion swelling in his eyes added to the pulsating feeling in between my legs, and he pushed my hair aside and slid his fangs in again.
Marking me more, intentionally, completely.
He licked it clean, and in ten seconds, he had us both naked and desperate for that feeling of euphoria.
He didn't waste any more time, thankfully, parting my legs with his hands.
His fingers crossed our bodies and reached down, plunging into my wetness. I trembled as they pulled out.
Satisfied with how drenched I was, he positioned his cock instead and then locked into my eyes as he put it in, his gasp echoing mine.
“You're so fucking tight,” he groaned, closing his eyes for a second as I adjusted to his length.
“Or you're just too large,” I growled in pleasure, “please move, baby.”
“Whatever my woman wants, she's gonna get,” he whispered as he indeed began to move.
I'd thought his restraint was shattered the last time he was inside of me, but he was just horny and angry the last time.
Right here, with this newfound agreement and peace between us, he was a different type of wild.
And my pussy was grateful, pouring out more wetness, filling the entire room with squelching sounds in tune with our moans and groans. He pounded into my pussy relentlessly, reaching down to increase the insane sensation by massaging my clit
“Oh, Oh fuck, baby, I'm so close,” I begged, grabbing his neck as we locked eyes.
“Let go for me, baby,” he growled, “cum for me, I need it!”
My legs curled around his waist as he threw me over the edge, the orgasm ripping through my soul and body.
He followed right after, his cum spraying all over my chest m
He lay his head on top of my chest, each of us soaking in our scent.
Suddenly, he perked up.
“What is it?”
“They're calling me for patrols,” he growled, “this whole attack on Lucian has everything… busy.”
“Oh,” I realized, “go on then. I'll be in my room. You can come over when you're done?”
He kissed me again.
“I'm not leaving until I clean my woman up.”
That cleaning up led to another orgasm in the bathroom before we finally let each other go.
My room door clicked softly behind me, and I leaned against it.
Then a vibration buzzed through the quiet room, dragging me to a stop.
Mother.
Fuck, I'd completely forgotten about her, about what had happened.
How I had destroyed her plans and saved the male that was about to ruin our lives.
What was I even supposed to say to her? I’m sure she was calling to remind me of how useless I have become.
It buzzed again, and coincidentally, a memory slammed into my mind.
‘We found the Zareen son.’
From the lips of a man I saved from the brink of death, the man who killed my aunt, from the male who made me laugh and cry at the same damn time.
I shuddered at how far I'd fallen from the Iris that had walked into this Pack, bleeding revenge plans. Now? Now I save people who want to capture and kill me because guess what?
I’m Zareen Son, misgendered because Darius misinformed them.
I walked towards the orb when I realized that, since I'm here and not wherever Lucian had discovered, they probably have found Mother’s hideout.
The vibration came again, harder this time.
I exhaled shakily, and pulled out my drawer, and tapped it before I lost my nerve.
“Mother, they –”
“Traitor!” Her icy tone cut off the pathetic tone coming from my throat.
“What..” I gasped, the word slamming so hard against my ribcage, my knees buckled. Not just at how harsh it sounded, but how true it was.
“Why haven’t you been picking my calls?” She fumed, her voice slicing through the air like a whip. “You found your powers, and all you could do was save him?”
“How…”
“Oh, you thought I wouldn't find out?” She let out a humourless laugh, mocking in a way only Mother knew how to. “I have eyes everywhere, Iris, and they're bleeding seeing you. Seeing what you have turned into.”
I closed my eyes, gripping the edge of the drawer to keep myself from falling over.
Traitor.
The word rang again and again, the meaning booming through my consciousness, making me wonder at what point I'd fallen off;
It was so unreal to think of this word describing me. I'll never betray my people.
Would I?
“I’m sorry, Mother, I tried to –” I began to explain, but the words lost any meaning in my head.
“You have an excuse?” she hissed, cutting me off. “Do you know how you got that power you're busy using to save your murderous mate?”
She didn’t even wait for me to answer.
“I allowed a white wolf touch me. A heinous, filthy, white wolf who wasn't my mate! I desecrated my mate's memory just so you could come into this world, and what do you do? You betray the people that has been killing your kind for generations!” She screeched, her frustration pugnant.
“I'm so sorry,” I choked out, her words pulling my guilt out of my throat.
“You’ve been marked, haven’t you?” she snapped after a pregnant pause, my apologies meaning nothing to her.
I froze, wondering how she knew.
“Yes, Mother,” I answered truthfully. She probably already knew before asking. “But not by him,” I clarified just in case.
“Goddess! This child is so fucking stupid. You're supposed to mark him! That's how you control a wolf, not the other way around!”
“But I have to –”
“Did you ever see your father's mark on my neck?”
“Please, you have to listen.” I forced my voice through her rising tone, curbing the tears that echoed through mine.
“What?!”
“I think your hideout has been discovered.”
“Oh.” Her voice went flat, and all the rage paused. “This is the first time you’ve been useful. What did they find out about us?”
“I… I…” I stammered, realizing I didn’t have much information. “I don’t know. But from what I heard, they’ll attack soon.”
“Then find out more,” she snapped, her voice turning sharp again. “What they know about us, and where they’ll strike from. I won’t have us running blindly into their trap. That’s your new assignment.”
My heart thundered as the blow drained of colour, her presence gone.
