Chapter 95 Can't Send Her, Lost
As soon as these words came out, everyone instinctively looked at Yasmin's wrist, and Yasmin herself looked down too.
She had been in a highly tense state before and hadn't felt any injury on her hand at all.
Now that Amelia reminded her, seeing the wound made her suddenly remember that Geraldo had scratched her hand at the time.
The panic in Yasmin's eyes flashed and vanished, replaced by grievance.
"Mr. McGinnis said his chest felt uncomfortable, so I went to help him, and he accidentally scratched me. Why are you asking about this?" Yasmin asked, pretending not to know.
Amelia's eyes darkened slightly.
When she first entered the operating room, she had checked whether Geraldo had taken her medicine.
If he had, the surgery would have gone more smoothly, because the medicine was developed by herself and had heart-protecting properties with very good effects.
So while checking whether Geraldo had taken the medicine, she discovered some not-yet-completely-dried blood remaining under Geraldo's fingernails.
The examination showed that Geraldo hadn't taken her medicine.
And the medicine she gave Geraldo was nowhere to be found.
At that time, she already had some suspicions, and now seeing the scratch on Yasmin's wrist, her suspicions were seventy to eighty percent confirmed.
But this alone wasn't enough to directly convict Yasmin.
More solid evidence was needed.
Like testimony from Geraldo himself.
Amelia looked deeply at Yasmin and said coldly, "You'd better not be lying."
Yasmin frowned. "Why would I lie about something like this?"
Amelia didn't bother with her anymore.
Anyway, the truth would be known once Geraldo woke up.
She had deliberately exaggerated the situation earlier, specifically for Yasmin to hear.
Geraldo had an eighty percent chance of waking up safely within a week.
She walked over to Samuel, meeting his deep eyes, and smiled somewhat helplessly.
"Looks like I owe you another favor."
Samuel shrugged. "Don't worry, you don't need to repay this favor. Consider it a gift from me."
Yasmin's heart couldn't help but stir.
But thinking that Samuel was already taken, the ripples in her heart quickly calmed down.
Kyle came to Yasmin's side at this moment, asking if her hand was okay.
Yasmin shook her head. "It's just a small injury, nothing serious."
But Kyle insisted, "This isn't exactly a minor injury. Let me take you to get it treated? To avoid infection or scarring later."
Yasmin couldn't wait to leave this place, so she didn't refuse anymore and left with Kyle.
York instinctively moved forward to stop them but was stopped by a look from Samuel.
If Amelia didn't say much, she naturally had her plans. He didn't need to detain Yasmin for now.
Kyle was blind to the truth—detaining Yasmin would only create more resentment.
Griffin and Christina came forward again to thank them both, then couldn't wait any longer and hurried off to see Geraldo.
Although they couldn't enter the ICU, Dawnview General Hospital's ICU had a large glass window through which they could see inside.
Samuel laughed mockingly. "Your student's grandson is really stupid."
Amelia pursed her lips indifferently.
"He'll soon see clearly whether Yasmin is good or bad. Saying more to him now won't help."
Samuel asked, "Are you sure she caused this?"
Amelia said, "Whether she angered Geraldo and caused his attack is hard to say. But the pill I gave Geraldo—not only did he not take it, it's missing. He wouldn't throw away anything I gave him, not even a piece of scrap paper, let alone a pill."
Jeremy quickly stepped forward, holding out a pill in his palm and asking, "Ms. Richardson, is this the medicine you're talking about?"
Amelia looked closely and immediately recognized her own medicine.
She grabbed it and asked Jeremy, "How did you get this medicine?"
Jeremy answered truthfully, "Mr. Crawford also suspected this matter was related to Yasmin, so I took the time to go back to that café. While checking the private room, I found this pill stuck in the window frame."
When Amelia gave the medicine to Geraldo, he had seen it too, so he recognized the pill at a glance and brought it back.
The hostility in Amelia's eyes grew thick.
"It must have been Yasmin who threw the medicine away."
Samuel frowned and asked, "Do you need me to bring her in?"
Amelia shook her head gently. "No need. Once Geraldo wakes up, everything will become clear."
Samuel nodded and instructed York, "Assign two people to secretly watch the ICU. If anyone suspicious approaches, take them down immediately."
"Yes!"
York responded and immediately went to handle it.
Since Samuel personally gave the order, he had to personally select a few reliable people.
Amelia watched York leave, then turned to look at Samuel.
"No matter what, thank you for today. I've been stretched thin lately and probably can't go to Thornfield. If possible, you could have Stanley come to Goldenvale—it would be more convenient for me to treat him."
Samuel nodded. "Okay, I'll arrange it."
Stanley's condition was fairly stable now, so Samuel wasn't in a rush.
He asked, "Where are you going next?"
"Home. Grant sent me a message—he's been waiting for me in the hospital parking lot."
Samuel's eyes dimmed slightly, feeling a bit disappointed.
So she didn't need him to take her?
But they had plenty of time. He didn't mind missing this one chance.
"I'll walk you to the parking lot."
"No—"
Amelia was about to refuse when Samuel added, "Jeremy's car is also in the parking lot. It's on the way."
Amelia had to swallow her words.
On the way, Samuel brought up the Combat Arts Association.
"Government departments caught a few more fleeing Combat Arts Association members these past two days, but some remnants haven't been cleared out yet, especially the Combat Arts Association's former leader. Be careful—this person may be old, but his past reputation was even bigger than the current leader's. He's said to have very good combat skills."
Amelia nodded. "Thanks for the warning. I'll be careful."
"Good. I'll also urge them to catch the remaining people as soon as possible."
As they were talking, Grant and Holden ran over from a car.
"Amelia! How's Mr. McGinnis?"
"Just finished surgery, still unconscious. But should be okay." Amelia answered.
Grant breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's good. I wanted to come up earlier but was afraid of causing trouble, so I just waited here for you. Oh, Mom called earlier asking why we weren't back yet. I made up some excuse, but we still need to get back soon before she gets suspicious."
Amelia nodded, turned to nod at Samuel as a goodbye, and got into the Richardson family's car.
Halfway through the drive, Natalie called again.
This time with joy in her voice.
"Grant, bring Amelia home quickly. Lucas is back."
Grant had it on speaker, so Amelia heard clearly.
Lucas?
The Lucas who, because of a woman who turned love into hate, had been playing marginal roles in the entertainment industry?
