Chapter 79 Not Coaxing Her?
"Yasmin, you're not mad, are you?" Steven finally noticed something was off with Yasmin and asked.
Yasmin had just calmed down, but hearing this, her breath caught again.
Before, the slightest shift in her mood and Steven would notice right away.
But now, he only just realized she was angry?
Yasmin said with a dark expression, "If it were you, and you saw me being all lovey-dovey with another man, wouldn't you be angry?"
Steven frowned.
"When was I being lovey-dovey with Amelia? Don't overthink it. Didn't I already explain to you just now? We were only talking business."
"So you're saying I'm being unreasonable?"
Steven's frown deepened.
He was getting impatient.
"Anyway, we're not what you think. If you have nothing to do, go eat something. A full stomach might help clear your head."
Yasmin's eyes widened.
He wasn't even trying to comfort her?
A feeling that something was slowly slipping away made her heart feel inexplicably anxious.
"I—"
"Alright, my dad is over there greeting people, I need to go say hello too. You stay here and eat something."
With that, Steven stopped paying attention to her and walked straight toward Bobby.
Yasmin's eyes were full of resentment.
But she didn't dare rashly follow him, afraid Steven would find her even more annoying.
She bit her lower lip in frustration, and with nowhere to vent her depression and anger, she began searching for Amelia.
At that moment, Amelia was in an empty spot in the main exhibition hall, taking a call from Byron.
"Amelia, we've run into a problem and need your help."
"What problem?"
"We got a job that requires breaking through a firewall. But this firewall is too difficult to crack, our people are a bit stumped."
Amelia looked around—there wasn't a suitable computer here for her to use her hacking skills.
"Is it urgent?" she asked.
"Yes, we really need to break through the firewall."
"But I can't leave right now. How about this—I'll introduce you to someone, I'll have him contact you."
"Great!"
After the call ended, Amelia directly dialed Liam's number.
The person she was looking for was Liam.
From the last time Liam used hacking techniques to locate Felix, it was clear that Liam's hacking skills were truly exceptional.
Even on par with hers.
Since she couldn't leave now, she could have Liam help out.
After dialing, the other party answered almost instantly, and Liam's gentle voice came through: "Amelia, what can I do for you?"
Liam's voice was just like his personality—gentle and kind.
Amelia got straight to the point: "Liam, I need your help with something. Can you—"
"I can."
Before she could finish, Liam had already agreed.
"What does Amelia need help with? As long as I can do it, I'll definitely help you."
Amelia felt warmth in her heart and said, "I have a friend who needs someone with hacking skills to help break through a firewall. Can you help him?"
Hacking skills.
Liam's hand resting on his powerless legs tightened slightly.
Every time he faced a computer, it caused him great pain.
After using hacking techniques to find Felix last time, he gradually came to understand that when it comes to pain, avoidance is always the worst approach—facing it head-on is the only way to overcome it.
He took a light breath and said, "Yes. Have your friend contact me."
"Okay, thank you Liam!"
"Don't say that. I'm already happy to be able to do something for you. I'm just afraid you won't have any use for a useless person like me."
Amelia frowned and said, "Liam, you've never been useless. You need to believe me, and more importantly, believe in yourself."
Liam had been mentally controlled too severely by the Young family.
She had to help him break free from that mental control and stop him from being so self-pitying.
"Thank you, Amelia."
"I'll have him contact you now."
"Okay."
Amelia hung up and gave Byron Liam's contact information.
After Byron received it, she looked up at the sky outside.
The evening clouds filled the sky like an overturned palette, quite beautiful.
If Liam's life hadn't encountered Tessa, it should have been like these evening clouds—brilliant and dazzling.
What a pity.
Thinking of Liam's occasional dejected appearance, Amelia couldn't help but sigh.
However, there was still time.
She slowly clenched her fist, secretly determined to restore Liam's life to its former glory.
Amelia turned around, about to check if Grant had come out yet, when she saw Yasmin walking toward her aggressively.
Amelia's expression darkened, her voice cold as she asked, "I suggest you don't embarrass yourself."
"I'm embarrassing myself?" Yasmin laughed in anger and demanded, "Who's really embarrassing themselves? Stealing my family wasn't enough for you, now you want to steal my boyfriend too?"
Amelia looked completely speechless.
Some people really did live in their own world, speaking without logic or conscience.
"Do you have a mental illness, or have you lost your memory?"
"If you've lost your memory, then let me kindly remind you."
"Back then, you were the one who wanted to cut ties with the Richardson family. That severance document was something you forced the Richardson family to sign."
"Also, my surname was always Richardson, and the Richardson family's blood flows in my veins. So who exactly stole from whom?"
"Finally, please get this straight—you treat Steven like a treasure, but to me, he's not even worth as much as garbage."
Yasmin's expression grew darker and darker.
She felt guilty about the Richardson family matter and wouldn't bring it up, but the Steven issue wasn't over.
"If you have no interest in Steven, then why were you talking to him? You're playing both sides—aren't you afraid Samuel will find out? Or do you know you're just a worthless person from the countryside who could never be accepted by the Crawford family, so you want to keep Steven as a backup?"
"Backup?"
Amelia laughed contemptuously and said, "Steven isn't even qualified to be my backup."
Yasmin got anxious.
"Don't you dare talk about him like that!"
"I already did, so what are you going to do about it? I'm not a garbage recycling center, I have no interest in recycling trash. If you like this garbage so much, then keep an eye on him and stop disgusting me."
Amelia wasn't stupid—she could sense Steven's change in attitude toward her.
And precisely because of this, she found Steven even more repulsive.
Having a girlfriend but still eyeing other women—what else could that be but trash?
"Before I completely lose my patience, please disappear from my sight."
With that, she moved to leave.
But Yasmin reached out and blocked her way.
"You can't leave until you swear you won't steal Steven!"
Amelia impatiently shook off her hand.
But Yasmin suddenly had an idea—she raised her own hand and slapped herself hard across the face.
