Chapter 163 Love Expert
Yosef looked Brady up and down again.
This guy was plain-looking and of average height—nothing like Samuel.
Brady somehow sensed hostility in the way Yosef was looking at him.
He looked confused.
What's going on?
Amelia broke the awkward tension between them and said, "Would it be possible for you to show us around inside?"
Yosef's bright smile returned.
He was naturally good-looking, and when he smiled like this, it seemed like he could melt all the ice and snow in the Arctic.
"Of course! Please come in. Samuel doesn't know you're here yet—if he did, he'd be thrilled."
Amelia didn't respond.
She just thought Samuel had a pretty big mouth.
Always telling everyone everything.
What Amelia didn't know was that Samuel wasn't talkative.
He just really didn't know how to pursue a girl, so he had to ask Yosef, an experienced romance expert, for help.
Since he needed to learn, Samuel naturally had to tell him about Amelia's preferences and background.
These things were unavoidable.
"Ms. Richardson, this way please." Yosef stopped in front of a golf cart and explained, "This place is huge. It's quite a walk, so let's take the cart."
Amelia nodded slightly and motioned for Brady to get on with her.
But Yosef gently raised his hand to stop him.
"Sorry, sir, these carts have limited power and can only hold two people. Please wait here for now. I'll take Ms. Richardson over first, and once we get there, I'll have them send a cart back for you."
Brady looked at Amelia.
Seeing her nod, he agreed to stay and wait.
The electric cart slowly began to move forward.
As Yosef had said, this place was indeed very large.
Not only was there a huge horse-racing track, but there were also exclusive members' leisure areas.
In addition, it had a shopping arcade, spa center, five-star hotel, and a large auction hall.
Amelia had been to the famous Golden Valley Racecourse, and this place was even bigger.
She could foresee that after its official opening, it would become one of the most famous luxury destinations in all of Phoenicia.
However, several facilities weren't fully completed yet, and some sections were still dirt roads, making the cart bounce up and down.
Amelia looked at the muddy ground, wondering how likely it was that Yasmin was here.
Though Yosef was focused on driving, he kept glancing at Amelia from the corner of his eye.
Seeing her lost in thought, he asked curiously, "Ms. Richardson, what are you thinking about?"
Amelia quickly snapped back and smiled. "This place hasn't opened yet. Why are you all here today?"
"We were invited to try out the horse track."
Amelia was puzzled. "Don't you have a lot of work to do? How do you have time to come here for this?"
Yosef's lips curved up as he said, "Samuel has shares in this Royal Stirling Racecourse. As for me, I heard that everyone invited today gets to pick a horse to keep here. You don't know this, but the horses here are all rare, top-quality breeds. You can't easily buy them normally."
I see.
But Amelia's mind worked quickly. After nodding slightly, she asked again, "Besides Samuel, who else has shares?"
"The newly appointed Marlon, plus the Young family and the Armstrong family."
Amelia knew about the Rojas and Young families.
But this Armstrong family...
Amelia soon got her answer.
After Yosef arrived at the destination, he first sent someone to pick up Amelia's friend, Brady.
Then he took Amelia to the changing area.
"Since you're here, you have to ride! How could you not?" Yosef suggested.
Amelia nodded and happily agreed.
She'd come here out of the blue—she needed a reason.
Coming to ride horses was a perfect excuse.
"That's great! You can change over there. Samuel should be almost done changing, too. He and I will wait for you here."
Amelia nodded and walked toward the women's changing area.
She passed the bathing area first, then reached the changing rooms.
In the changing area, Amelia ran into someone she knew—Niamh.
Since that time at Luminance Art Gallery when Niamh had tried to mock Amelia on Yasmin's behalf only to be humiliated herself, she hadn't crossed paths with Amelia again.
Seeing her, Amelia understood.
When Niamh saw her, she was first surprised, then displeased, and a flash of something like panic crossed her eyes.
Amelia caught it accurately.
She felt the chances of Yasmin being here were quite high.
"Why are you here?" Niamh said with a dark expression. "I don't think we invited you."
Amelia's lips curved slightly. "Yosef brought me in."
Niamh's brow furrowed.
"You're hooking up with Yosef again? You've got quite the heart—big enough to hold so many men. Really impressive."
Amelia ignored her mockery and didn't bother explaining herself.
She simply said, "What a coincidence, Ms. Armstrong."
Niamh continued her sarcasm: "Playing both sides, are we? Careful, you don't get burned, darling."
Amelia smiled warmly and said, "I thought you'd be above petty grudges, Niamh. Clearly, I was mistaken. We barely knew each other before this whole mess, yet you seem determined to make me your enemy. Tell me, who's pulling your strings?"
Niamh was taken aback, but her mind flashed back to what happened at Luminance Art Gallery that day.
If Yasmin hadn't subtly misled her into thinking Amelia was just a country girl, she wouldn't have questioned whether Amelia was Taylor, and she wouldn't have lost all her dignity.
After that incident, she'd paid a heavy price.
Because of Amelia, she'd offended Samuel, who threatened to cancel all cooperation between their family and the Crawford Group.
Only when her parents acted quickly and gave up ten percent of Royal Stirling Racecourse's shares—gifting them to Samuel for free—did the matter finally end.
By giving up those ten percent shares, Samuel was now the largest shareholder of Royal Stirling Racecourse.
Before that, the Armstrong family had been the largest shareholder.
After that incident, her parents had locked her at home and forbidden her from going out.
Only this week had they allowed her to leave.
If Amelia hadn't said, "Who's pulling your strings?" she would have almost forgotten that while Amelia was the main cause of that day's events, Yasmin wasn't innocent either.
Niamh's brow slowly furrowed.
Some thought flashed through her mind.
But she pushed it down.
"I, Niamh, am not controlled by anyone!"
"Is that so?" Amelia smiled meaningfully and said, "That's good to hear. I'm going to change now. Please, Ms. Armstrong, make yourself comfortable."
Niamh frowned.
She was the host here—what did Amelia mean by "make yourself comfortable"?!
But Amelia had already gone inside, and Niamh couldn't be bothered to chase after her.
She was considering whether to continue sheltering Yasmin.
Actually, she'd been reluctant at first about sheltering Yasmin.
But thinking about how Yasmin now had to flatter her made her feel good.
When the Richardson family had been Goldenvale's wealthiest, she'd been the one flattering Yasmin.
Now Yasmin had to flatter her, please her, and be beneath her—naturally, that felt satisfying.
But Amelia's words made her reconsider the whole thing.
After some hesitation, Niamh returned to the hotel on the premises.
She swiped her card to enter a room where Yasmin was applying a face mask. Seeing her, Yasmin quickly removed the mask, her eyes smiling as she said, "Niamh, why are you here? Didn't you say you'd be busy today?"
"I'm thirsty." Niamh sat down on the sofa and ordered, "Pour me a glass of water. Warm water."
Anger flashed in Yasmin's eyes for an instant, but she immediately suppressed it.
"Okay." She put her smile back on and went to pour Niamh a glass of water.
"Try it and see if the temperature is right."
Her tone was extremely respectful, and Niamh enjoyed it. She took a sip and set the glass on the coffee table.
She wasn't actually thirsty—she just enjoyed having Yasmin serve her.
Someone who'd been enslaved for so long, suddenly becoming the master, naturally wanted to enjoy their authority to the fullest.
Yasmin spoke up then: "Felix didn't come today. He said he has something important to handle over the next couple of days and probably won't be coming."
Niamh liked Felix.
That was also why Niamh used to flatter Yasmin before.
She did it to get closer to Felix.
Unfortunately, Felix had never liked her.
His mind was entirely on learning combat arts.
Every time Niamh showed interest, Felix didn't understand her meaning, like a teenager who'd never been in a relationship.
A flash of embarrassment crossed her face, then she cleared her throat and said, "I'm not here to see Felix. I came to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"Amelia is here."
Yasmin had a bad feeling.
"How did she get here? Is she looking for me?"
Niamh smiled slightly and patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, she doesn't know you're here. She hooked up with Yosef, and he brought her in."
Yasmin frowned.
"Isn't she close with Samuel?"
Niamh laughed disdainfully. "She thinks she can handle anything she takes in, but one day it'll choke her!"
But Yasmin didn't have the energy to curse Amelia right now.
More than hatred, she now felt fear toward Amelia.
"Amelia is very sharp and smart. Don't let slip even a hint that I'm here."
"Don't worry, I'm not stupid. I just came by to give you a heads-up. Don't leave this room today—stay put. Even if she knows you're here, she won't be able to find you."
Yasmin nodded. "Thank you, Niamh. You're my savior. I'll listen to you from now on."
"I don't need servants."
Yasmin smiled. "Don't worry, I'll also help you with Felix—create chances for you two to spend time together."
Niamh's face reddened a bit, but she put on airs. "I'm not some cheap woman. Ask him clearly for me—if he's not interested, I won't keep pursuing him."
"Okay. Next time he comes, I'll ask him."
Niamh nodded.
But in her heart, she hoped Yasmin would bring her the answer she wanted to hear.
"By the way," Yasmin asked, "is Amelia here to ride horses too?"
"Since she's here, she'll definitely be riding."
Yasmin's eyes lit up—she had an idea.
