Chapter 162 Find Yasmin
Amelia got dressed and came downstairs.
Natalie was having breakfast. When she saw her coming down, she quickly waved at her.
"Amelia, come here. I made you fried eggs and chicken soup. To help you recover."
She knew that Liam had suffered a lot yesterday, but Amelia was exhausted too.
She had stayed with Liam almost the entire night, so Natalie got up early to cook for Amelia herself.
But Amelia's smile was a bit stiff.
Chicken soup again...
Although Natalie's chicken soup was delicious, not greasy at all, and really tasty.
But she couldn't stand drinking it every day.
"Mom..." Amelia hugged Natalie's arm and acted cute: "Can I skip it today?"
"Sure." Natalie said, "If you don't drink it, you can make yourself some nourishing medicine, and I'll help you cook it."
Amelia's face fell.
Between medicine and chicken soup, she'd obviously choose the chicken soup.
After finishing a bowl of chicken soup, Amelia felt like she was turning into a chicken.
"Good girl, that's right." Natalie pinched her cheek, looking completely satisfied.
Although Amelia felt miserable, she knew that, thanks to Natalie's daily nutritious meals, her health hadn't worsened despite staying up late every night.
Fortunately, this wouldn't last much longer.
In at most one more week, she wouldn't have to stay up late, and Liam wouldn't have to suffer anymore.
Just then, Grant came downstairs.
He'd been leaving early and coming home late recently. Amelia felt like she hadn't seen him in forever.
"Grant, what a rare guest," Amelia said.
Although Grant looked tired from work, he was still his playful self.
He walked up to Amelia and put his hands on his hips.
"You know an important guest has arrived, why haven't you brought coffee?"
"Coming right up." Amelia eagerly handed Grant a bowl of chicken soup.
Natalie wasn't one to play favorites, which meant everyone in the house had to drink chicken soup.
Grant was also sick of it. When he saw that bowl of chicken soup, he couldn't keep up the act.
"I was wrong, Amelia."
Natalie glared at him.
"Wrong about what? Hurry up and eat. You're always out early and home late, don't ruin your health, drink it."
Grant wanted to find an excuse to slip away, but Amelia grabbed his collar and whispered in his ear.
"Grant, we share the good times and the bad. I already drank mine, don't even think about running."
With that, she pulled him to sit at the dining table and eat his chicken soup.
Grant sighed and started slowly drinking the chicken soup.
Amelia asked if he was adjusting well at the company.
Grant patted his chest.
"How could I not adjust? I really like going to work now."
Samuel had assigned him twenty people. Now whenever he arrived at his department, all twenty people would come up to greet him one by one.
During meetings, when he walked into the conference room, everyone sitting would stand up in unison and nod to him. That feeling was amazing.
No wonder people in higher positions loved going to work so much.
Amelia raised an eyebrow: "I can tell you really like going to work now. You're more diligent than Mason, who runs his own business."
Just then, Mason came downstairs.
He smelled the chicken soup right away.
Before even eating, his stomach started feeling queasy.
Hearing Amelia's words, he immediately seized the opportunity: "Looks like Amelia thinks I'm not hardworking enough. That's my fault. I'm ashamed. I'll reflect on this. I don't deserve breakfast. I'm leaving right now."
With that, he left the dining table and ran outside.
Amelia didn't react in time, and he actually got away.
"Mason, that's mean!"
Grant totally agreed.
"Really mean!"
Natalie shook her head helplessly, but her eyes were full of affection.
"Since you don't like chicken soup, I won't make it tomorrow."
The siblings' eyes lit up immediately.
But the next second, Natalie said, "Tomorrow I'll make beef stew."
The two looked at each other, speechless.
Grant finally finished his bowl of chicken soup and was about to leave for work when Felix came downstairs.
The smile on Amelia's face faded.
Grant greeted Felix.
"Felix, are you going out today too? Where to? I can give you a ride."
Since the Richardson family had gone bankrupt, they couldn't be as flashy and extravagant as before.
So most of the cars in the garage had been sold.
Now Grant drove one, Mason drove one, and they kept one at home. Felix had to take cabs to get around.
Felix's expression stiffened slightly, but he quickly smiled.
"No need, I'm going in a different direction from you. Don't want to make you late for work."
Grant didn't insist.
Ever since Felix had believed Yasmin's words and misunderstood Amelia, he hadn't been as close to Felix as before.
Soon, everyone had left.
Amelia waited half an hour and received a message from Lyndon.
"Felix went to Harmony Heights Resort."
Seeing the message, Amelia drove out.
She had arranged with Geraldo to have Kyle wait at the gas station.
When Amelia arrived, Kyle and two police officers handling Yasmin's case were already there.
Kyle came up first, his expression complicated, but mostly showing guilt.
"Ms. Richardson, I..."
"Don't say anything, let's get down to business." Amelia cut him off directly.
Kyle choked up and couldn't say anything more.
"Where's the suspect now?" one of the tall officers asked her.
Amelia said, based on her judgment: "Within ten miles."
The officer frowned.
"Ten miles? That's too big an area. Can you be more specific?"
Amelia thought about it and said, "It's a place with lots of dirt. Even without rain, your shoes would get muddy."
The two officers followed her description and pulled out their phones to search for nearby places that fit what she said.
They quickly narrowed it down to two locations.
One was a village near here that was awaiting demolition.
The other was a newly built horse ranch that hadn't opened to the public yet, about a minutes drive away.
Both places fit Amelia's description of "shoes getting muddy even without rain."
And to get to either place, this gas station was on the way.
The four of them discussed for a few minutes. After confirming there was no third suspicious location, they split into two groups.
Kyle and the shorter officer went to the residential area waiting for demolition, while Amelia went to the horse ranch with the tall officer.
Kyle and his partner took the police car, so the tall officer rode in Amelia's car.
She drove fast but steady. The tall officer glanced at her and suddenly said, "Ms. Richardson, I'm one of Lloyd's people. My name is Brady."
Amelia's hands tightened slightly on the steering wheel.
Lloyd.
That day at the Combat Arts hall, Samuel had called Lloyd to handle things.
Later, at the restaurant, when she hit Efrain, Lloyd had also cleaned up after her.
Amelia nodded and said, "I see. Thanks for making this trip with me."
Brady didn't say much. "It's what I should do."
Soon, the car arrived at the entrance of the horse ranch.
After getting out, Brady looked puzzled and said, "It just opened and isn't open to the public yet. Why are there so many cars parked at the entrance?"
Amelia looked over too.
In the parking spaces at the entrance, seven or eight luxury cars were parked.
One of them looked very familiar to Amelia.
"Let's go," she said.
Brady nodded and followed her inside.
However, at the security booth, they were stopped.
"Sorry, we haven't opened for business yet."
Brady was about to take out his police badge, but Amelia stopped him.
She smiled and said, "Please let them know that I'm a friend of Samuel's. Amelia."
The security guard looked her up and down. Seeing her outstanding appearance and elegant manner, he didn't dare be careless. He asked them to wait and made a call.
"Mr. Crawford is here?" Brady asked.
Amelia nodded: "His car is outside too."
"I see."
Amelia explained further: "Just say you're my friend, don't show your police badge. We don't want to alert them."
Brady said, "Okay."
Then added: "Good thing I wore my own clothes today, otherwise I'd have to change."
Amelia smiled.
Before long, a tall man with deep eyes walked out from inside.
He was wearing riding clothes - a white shirt inside with a tight blue riding jacket over it, which showed off his broad shoulders and narrow waist.
Soon, the man approached Amelia.
He was also sizing her up.
Just one look, and the man's face showed amazement.
He had wondered why Samuel, a confirmed bachelor, would want to date. Now he understood - Samuel had met such a beautiful woman.
Amelia's gaze also fell on the man's face.
She hadn't seen him before, but he looked familiar.
"Excuse me, are you Ms. Richardson?" Although it was a question, his tone was certain.
Amelia nodded and asked hesitantly: "You are?"
"I'm Yosef, Samuel's good friend. He's still changing clothes. I got his call and came to meet you first."
Yosef.
Amelia repeated the name silently and remembered why he looked familiar.
"Do you know Philip Dobbins?"
Yosef's expression changed slightly, but he quickly recovered his bright smile.
"Philip is my older brother. You know him?"
"We've dealt with each other twice."
Philip's wife had previously had a threatened miscarriage. She found Amelia through the Shadow Operations Division forum, and Amelia had saved the baby for Philip's wife.
But two months later, Philip's wife still had a miscarriage.
That poor woman had cried uncontrollably in front of her.
The other man in Philip's life caused a car accident that killed her child.
It was an already formed fetus.
She hadn't expected that her husband actually liked men.
That man got jealous and got rid of her child, but Philip didn't care at all.
Amelia advised her to get divorced. She said no, she wanted Philip to pay the price.
Three months ago, Philip's wife asked her for some medicine.
It was a slow-acting poison that would gradually weaken someone's body.
Thinking of this, Amelia added two more sentences: "I know his wife, so I've dealt with him twice. Just now, when I saw you, you looked familiar. I didn't expect you to be his brother."
"So you're Stella's friend." Yosef smiled, looking somewhat relieved.
Then his gaze fell on Brady next to Amelia.
Amelia introduced him: "He's my friend. We heard a horse ranch opened here, so we wanted to come check it out."
