Chapter 394: Return to the Country

Chapter 394: Return to the Country

Over the past two weeks, Sharon and Marlowe had developed a very deep bond.

Although Sharon was more mature than other kids her age, she was still just a ten-year-old child after all.

If you put your heart into it, winning a child's affection is quite easy.

What's more ,Marlowe didn't just use her heart she also used love.

Seeing Amelia and Samuel come in, Marlowe knew they had things to discuss, so she excused herself to handle the discharge paperwork.

Amelia then sat down by Sharon's bedside.

Sharon was different from Felix. Felix had injured his arm, while Sharon had injured her leg bone, so she still couldn't get out of bed and walk.

"How's your recovery going? Does it still hurt?"

Sharon shook her head. "The nurse stopped giving me painkillers three days ago. It doesn't hurt now as long as I don't move it."

"That's good. Once it stops hurting completely, you need to eat more so it doesn't affect your growth."

Sharon nodded obediently.

She already knew that Amelia had shaved her head to save her and Samuel, and she was very grateful to both of them.
After all, even her biological parents didn't care whether she lived or died.

"Thank you, Amelia." Sharon said very seriously. "When I grow up, I'll repay you."

Amelia couldn't help but smile.

"No need to repay us. When I'm old and bedridden, just come visit me more often. That'll be repayment enough."

"I definitely will!" Sharon clenched her little fist and said solemnly.

Amelia and Samuel exchanged smiles.

Sharon knew how to repay kindness, she was a very good child.

After chatting casually for a bit, once Sharon wasn't so tense anymore, Amelia brought up the real matter.

"Sharon, you're a big kid now. You can tell right from wrong, and you can see that we want to help you, right?" Amelia asked.

Sharon nodded.

"You're good people. You saved me."

Then she lowered her voice and said, "You're ten thousand times better than my parents."

Amelia patted her head and said, "So, if we wanted you to cooperate with us in putting on an act for your parents, would you be willing?"

Sharon was a very smart child with a quick mind.

In just two seconds, she understood what Amelia meant and asked, "You want Ms. Wood to adopt me, don't you?"

Sophia was a servant, taking care of her was just her job.

Marlowe, however, was no ordinary servant. If she had agreed to look after the child, there had to be a bigger reason.

Sharon had figured it out long ago.

"You want me to put on an act for my parents so that after they abandon me, Ms. Wood can adopt me, right?"

Amelia nodded.

"Sharon, you're very smart. You guessed everything correctly. So are you willing? Do you really want to leave your parents and let Ms. Wood take care of you?"

"I'm willing." Sharon only paused for a brief moment before speaking firmly. "Ms. Wood is very good to me. I really like her. I'm willing to stay with her and don't want to go back to my parents anymore."

She added, "I'm not being impulsive. I've been thinking about this for a long time during my hospital stay. My parents don't love me, so there's no reason for me to stay with them. Please help me."

Sharon's childish face was full of determination.

Amelia even saw a shadow of her former self in her.

She really liked Sharon.

If it weren't inconvenient for her and Samuel to adopt her, she would definitely adopt Sharon herself.

Raising a mini version of herself to heal her childhood wounds.

Still, Sharon would have a good life with Marlowe too.

And it would be convenient for her to visit Sharon.

"Then," Amelia said, "after we go back, just do as I tell you."

She lowered her voice and carefully explained their plan to Sharon.

After hearing it, Sharon nodded vigorously.

"I've memorized everything."

"Good girl." Amelia patted Sharon's head.

Just then, Marlowe came back after completing the discharge procedures.

She held the discharge papers in one hand and pushed a wheelchair with the other.

She said to Amelia and Samuel, "The paperwork is all done. Felix can be discharged too. Shall we head back?"

"Sure."

As the only man there, Samuel volunteered to lift Sharon into the wheelchair and push it.

Amelia and Marlowe followed behind.

Amelia repeated to Marlowe what she had told Sharon.

"Sharon is willing to stay with me?" After hearing this, Marlowe asked Amelia nervously.

Amelia smiled.

"Of course she's willing. She said she really likes you."

Marlowe's anxious heart finally settled.

During this time, she had deeply realized that raising a girl was much more complicated than raising a boy.

Girls needed more detailed care in daily life.

Girls' thoughts were also more delicate than boys', so you had to be more careful with what you said, especially since this wasn't her biological child.

But Marlowe enjoyed it.

When she raised Edward before, although it was easier, she always felt there was some kind of barrier.

But raising Sharon was completely different.

Because her thoughts were more delicate, Sharon could understand her efforts, would patiently listen to her talk about many trivial matters, and could respond in a timely manner.

In short, daughters were more caring.

Marlowe only realized after taking care of Sharon that she preferred girls over boys.

Of course, it might also be because she had once lost a daughter.

In any case, she really liked Sharon.

"She might need to change her name later. Aunt Marlowe, you can start thinking about Sharon's new name now."

Marlowe was delighted but also worried.

"Will Sharon be unwilling to change her name?"

"I'm not sure about that. Why don't you ask her yourself when we get back?"

"That works. Anyway, I'll go with whatever she wants."

"Okay."

Soon the car started moving, and a long convoy headed toward the seaside villa.

Marlowe wasn't staying at the hotel anymore. She took Sharon to the villa, and the two of them shared a suite.

Though they had different rooms and beds.

That evening, Marlowe asked Sharon if she was willing to change her name.

Sharon agreed immediately.

The name didn't mean much to her—whether she changed it or not didn't really matter.

"How about Shanice Wood?"

"Okay."

So everyone started calling her Shanice.

Two days later, everyone prepared to return to Phoenicia.

There wasn't much luggage to pack. Everyone had everything they needed in Phoenicia, so they traveled light.

Only Amelia had a pile of luggage.

Because she had many wedding gifts from everyone that she needed to take back.

On July 17th, everyone officially returned home.

The private plane landed directly on the lawn of The Richardson Manor.

Uma hadn't seen them in a long time and hadn't received any notice, but she was very happy to see them return and prepared a full table of dishes for everyone.

At the same time, the news also reported that Samuel and Amelia had returned home after finishing their honeymoon on the island.
