Chapter 123 The Mystery Surrounding Amelia
There's a lot to unpack in what Amelia just said, and she's wrapped in mystery.
For instance, how could a girl who just came back from the countryside have a grudge against the powerful Young family?
And how could such an innocent-looking young girl be plotting to go after the Young family?
"Amelia, you..."
Liam had so many questions he wanted to ask.
Besides what she just said, there was also how she knew those people who wanted to destroy Samuel's documents.
But when he looked into Amelia's innocent eyes, he suddenly felt these questions didn't matter.
All he needed to know was that Amelia needed his help, so he had to help her.
Liam let out a heavy sigh, and when he looked up again, his eyes suddenly lit up.
"I agree," he said. "I'll overcome my psychological barriers and help you achieve what you want to do."
Amelia smiled.
"Alright Liam, so it's settled then?"
"It's settled!"
"I'll start treating you right now."
Without further ado, Amelia had Grant bring over the medical bag from the doorway and began treating Liam.
She couldn't use Shadow Realm Needling today - it was too risky and required taking medicine for a few days first.
She had to make absolutely sure nothing would go wrong.
Also, this couldn't be made public - they needed to catch the Young family off guard.
However, after the treatment ended, Amelia still told Natalie about it in advance, to prevent her emotions from swinging wildly from the sudden news, which could affect her health.
Natalie was still quite excited to hear she had already started treating Liam.
It took her a while to find her voice and ask: "Amelia, how confident are you?"
Amelia left some room, saying: "Sixty percent."
Natalie was silent again for a long time.
She was processing this huge good news.
When she finally managed to speak, tears came out first.
She choked up and said: "Amelia, you're a blessing in our family."
Grant enthusiastically agreed from the side.
"She's our blessing."
Natalie glanced at him.
"When will you ever act more mature?"
Grant stuck out his tongue: "There are plenty of serious people in this family. Having one carefree person like me balances things out, doesn't it? Otherwise, wouldn't it be boring?"
"You really are..." Natalie shook her head helplessly, but her eyes were full of affection.
She had always carefully nurtured her children.
Each one was cultivated according to their strengths.
What was more unfortunate was that among her sons, not one stood out.
Take Felix, for example - he never liked using his brain since childhood, so she had him learn Combat Arts.
Unfortunately, she chose the wrong place and sent him to the Combat Arts Hall.
On the other hand, Amelia, who didn't grow up by her side, was smart, thoughtful, and had exceptional medical skills.
She couldn't help but wonder if she wasn't good at raising children.
Because if it was about bloodline, Yasmin, her adopted daughter whom she also raised, turned out to be useless.
Amelia was her biological daughter, and though she didn't grow up by her side, she was so capable.
"Amelia."
Natalie put her arm around Amelia's shoulder, letting her nestle in her embrace.
"I'm really happy that you came back and chose to stay."
Amelia breathed in Natalie's scent, feeling completely calm and relaxed.
She said: "I'm also very happy that I could come back."
There was a time when she thought she had no family left in this world.
And even if she did, they didn't love her.
Now the facts proved that God had been good to her after all.
Although she had suffered a lot, she was happy now.
"By the way," Natalie said, "Felix just called and said he's coming home tomorrow. Let's all go out for a nice meal tomorrow as a family, and spare Uma the trouble."
Amelia didn't really want to bring up Felix.
She left Natalie's embrace and changed the subject: "Grant, when are you starting work at the company?"
"Company?" Natalie was somewhat surprised. "What company?"
Amelia looked at Grant in surprise.
"Grant, you haven't told Mom yet?"
The usually carefree Grant blushed.
So Amelia told the story about what happened at Luminance Art Gallery, though she left out the parts about her being Taylor and about Yasmin.
Grant cleared his throat awkwardly and said: "I'm starting at the Crawford Group next Monday, but I don't have to be at the office all the time. I'll go occasionally, and most of the time I can stay home and work on design drafts."
Natalie was stunned for a while, then broke into a smile.
"That's wonderful, Grant! I was thinking that if you couldn't find a suitable job, I'd just support you for life."
Grant's face blushed.
"Mom, what kind of thing is that to say?"
Natalie laughed even more heartily.
Looking at her increasingly fulushed cheeks, Amelia smiled too.
Everything was moving in a good direction.
With her here, the Richardson family would only get better and better.
Grant looked over at her and gave her a slight nod.
It was a thank you.
If it weren't for Amelia, Grant wouldn't have been recognized this way, much less become an employee of the Crawford Group.
But she felt she hadn't helped the Richardson family that much.
Everyone outside said her brothers were fools, but after getting to know them better, she found that wasn't the case at all.
They were eagles meant to soar in the sky, just with their wings artificially broken.
And she had simply helped them reattach their wings.
But no matter how good her "medical skills" were, if they had been sparrows to begin with, no amount of skill could turn them into eagles.
The reason they could fly again so quickly was because they were eagles all along.Meanwhile, after taking a shower, Samuel was about to rest when Jeremy knocked and came in.
"What is it?"
Jeremy got straight to the point: "I've found what you asked me to look into about Aurora Media."
Samuel had been busy all day and only now remembered he'd sent Jeremy to investigate why Lucas had been at Aurora Media for years but remained unknown.
Samuel lit a cigarette and said: "Go ahead."
"Lucas debuted with Aurora Media. When he first started out, he acted in a low-budget TV series. Although it didn't become a huge hit, it had pretty good ratings and he gained some fans."
"But just as his career was taking off, he ran into someone who desperately wanted to be his girlfriend."
"He refused. After that, all his resources were taken away and given to others. To this day, he's never played a male lead."
At this point, Jeremy glanced at Samuel and boldly left him hanging.
"Can you guess who this person was?"
Samuel flicked his cigarette ash into the crystal ashtray.
He then said: "Julie."
Jeremy's eyes widened in shock, and he blurted out: "How did you know?"
"Just a guess."
