Chapter 41 Old Man
Chapter 41 Old Man
"What?"
The livestream erupted in commotion as everyone stared at Eve in shock.
No solution?
The principal of Hudson Institute of Technology actually gave them an unsolvable problem - was this some kind of joke?
"Excellent, excellent, Eve is truly excellent." The principal of Hudson Institute of Technology burst into laughter, his eyes showing undisguised admiration for Eve. "I just wonder if Student Eve can explain what's wrong with this problem?"
This was the real reason he brought out this problem today.
Eve smiled coldly and turned the video camera to the paper in her hand.
It was densely covered with all kinds of formulas, making people's eyes dizzy just looking at it.
"You, you actually found the errors in this problem and calculated the results?"
The composure on the principal's face disappeared as he stared at the paper in front of Eve in shock.
"You mean you noticed something was wrong with this problem at first glance, and spent the rest of the time calculating the corrected version and working out the results?"
Eve nodded. "This concerns our country's aerospace technology. If needed, I can send you this data."
Barrage comments:
[No way? Eve spent all this time writing just to leave this data for Hudson Institute of Technology?]
[I'm impressed. Just Eve's generosity alone is worth learning from.]The principal of Hudson Institute of Technology nodded excitedly. "Eve, on behalf of our country's aerospace technology, our school, and even those researchers working day and night, I thank you."
With Eve's calculations, he had reason to believe that their country's aerospace technology would take a huge leap forward.
"You're too kind, Principal."
Eve didn't like formalities. Her decision to help solve this problem was out of respect for Hudson Institute of Technology's contribution of countless talents to the country.
"Young friend Eve, I won't disturb your competition any further." The principal of Hudson Institute of Technology looked at Eve kindly. "I hope we'll have time to discuss things together in the future."
Young friend Eve?
Professor Davis looked at the principal of Hudson Institute of Technology in shock, amazed that Eve could make such an important figure humble himself to befriend her.
Could the physics problem Eve just solved really be that difficult?
"Joan, I've already won two rounds. Shouldn't Seaside Maritime Institute admit defeat?"
Eve hadn't forgotten about her five hundred million bet.
She could use it to pay Blake Wolfe's instructor fees.
"No way, I don't believe it. How could you possibly solve a physics problem that even the senior from Hudson Institute of Technology couldn't?"
Joan couldn't and wouldn't believe it.
Five hundred million was no small amount.
Even with her family's status in Harbor City, if they found out she bet five hundred million, they definitely wouldn't let her off easy.
"What, is Seaside Maritime Institute planning to back out?"
Eve smiled coldly. She had to say, this Joan was really dragging Seaside Maritime Institute's reputation through the mud.
A flash of embarrassment crossed Joan's face. "Back out? Back out of what?"
"Have you lost your mind? You're just a student - how could I possibly bet five hundred million with you?"
Eve laughed. In everyone's eyes, she smiled.
"The Wests really raised a fine daughter." A deep voice came from the doorway.
The familiar voice made Eve turn around instantly, looking in surprise at the man walking in.
Sebastian?
"Who are you? What does our family business have to do with you?" Joan glared at Sebastian angrily. "Coming out at this moment - are you that old man Eve found?"
Old man?
Eve pursed her lips, a genuine smile rising on her face.
She never thought Sebastian would one day be called an old man.
It was actually quite amusing.
Compared to Eve's smile, Chase, who was inseparable from Sebastian, had an indescribable expression.
He wanted to laugh but didn't dare.
He wanted to be angry but found it funny.
His reasonably handsome face turned red from holding it in, his shoulders constantly shaking.
Poor kid!
Eve gave her assessment without holding back.
"Mr. Cole?" Professor Davis, being well-informed, recognized Sebastian's face and shuddered, quickly stepping forward and greeting him carefully.
"Mr. Cole, what brings you here? These are just small matters we can handle - no need to trouble you."
Sebastian glanced coldly at Professor Davis, then turned his gaze back to Joan.
"What did you just say? I'm the old - man - behind Ms. Moore?"
When he said "old man," the gritted teeth in his voice were clear enough for Eve to hear.
It was obvious how angry Sebastian was.
"Mr. Cole, Mr. Cole, I, I was talking nonsense. Please don't mind me." Joan's face went pale, her body trembling slightly under Sebastian's gaze.
She couldn't believe that the man before her was the Mr. Cole who made her grandfather and father bow in respect.
And what had she said?
She actually called Sebastian an old man?
"Call the Wests and tell them to have one billion ready in three minutes." Sebastian had no time to argue with a nobody. He directly told Chase to 'call the parents.'
Chase had been waiting for this moment. Facing the livestream camera, he directly called the head of the Wests family, Hank West.
"Mr. Anderson, does Mr. Cole have any instructions?"
Hank's respectful voice came through the livestream clearly to countless viewers.
"Have one billion ready and delivered to Emerald City High School within three minutes, otherwise..."
Chase didn't need to finish the rest.
If the Wests couldn't do it, the consequences didn't need to be guessed.
"Looks like Ms. Moore is going to owe me another favor." Sebastian flipped his bangs dramatically, smiling at Eve.
Eve rolled her eyes speechlessly. "Does Mr. Cole think I'm so useless I can't even handle the Wests?"
The Wests, a family with just a bit of status in Harbor City - did they really think she had no way to deal with them?
"Chase, give me the phone."
On the other end, Hank immediately understood that Joan must be behind this when he heard about sending money to Emerald City High School.
After apologizing profusely over the phone, he began tactfully asking what had happened.
Before Chase could answer, he heard Eve's words.
He obediently extended his hand and passed his phone to Eve, only realizing afterward that he had been very obedient - very obedient?
"Roman West, five years ago, Manhattan..." Eve took the phone and said calmly.
"You, you, you're actually..."
"Who I am doesn't matter. I want to see five hundred million in one minute."
"Yes, yes, yes, I'll handle it right away." Hank's excited voice trembled. "Should I transfer it to this account?"
Eve looked up at Sebastian. "Yes!"
