Chapter 34 The Miserable Samuel
Chapter 34 The Miserable Samuel
A woman's furious voice rang out.
Eve looked up to see a woman dripping with jewels and finery walking in.
After seeing Samuel lying on the ground, barely breathing, her face turned completely ugly.
"Mrs. Reid, don't worry. There are more people coming."
Eve wasn't surprised by the visitor.
"Who else is coming?" Mrs. Reid clearly hadn't figured out what was going on yet.
Eve said nothing, but her gaze turned toward the end of the hallway.
As she spoke, another elegantly dressed woman appeared at the end.
"Mrs. Cross?" Mrs. Reid was puzzled. "Why would she come here?"
They all moved in high society circles. Even if they weren't close, they certainly knew each other.
"Huh, why is Mrs. Knight here too?"
Right behind Mrs. Cross, another woman walked in - Mrs. Knight, who was a few years older than them.
In the blink of an eye, three more people stood before Eve.
The three obviously hadn't expected to run into each other here.
They glanced at the half-dead Samuel, but none of them spoke first.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Eve reluctantly spoke first: "Ladies, don't be surprised. You're all here because I sent you messages."
With one sentence, Eve made it crystal clear why the three had appeared here together.
Without waiting for them to ask questions, she continued: "This man - I believe you all know him, right?"
The three exchanged glances, seeming to understand what Eve meant.
Their faces instantly turned ugly.
Not because of Eve, but because of Samuel lying on the ground.
"I don't know this person. Whether he lives or dies has nothing to do with me. I have things to do, so I'm leaving first." Mrs. Knight was the first to react, glaring angrily at Samuel before turning and leaving.
Following Mrs. Knight's example, Mrs. Cross instantly understood the situation. Thinking about how Samuel had been sleeping with her while also fooling around with two other old women made her feel sick.
She glared hatefully at Samuel. "A scumbag like this makes me sick just looking at him. I'm leaving."
After dropping that line, she walked out.
Soon, only Mrs. Reid, who had arrived first, remained.
"Mrs. Reid, don't you have anything to say?" Eve smiled mockingly. "Or do you still like him even in this state?"
Eve lifted her foot and kicked the half-dead, barely moaning Samuel to Mrs. Reid's feet.
This let Mrs. Reid see directly how pathetic Samuel looked - especially the dark red stain between his legs.
"Darling, save me, save me. I promise, I promise I'll serve you well from now on."
Mrs. Reid was Samuel's last lifeline. He clutched her ankle, begging desperately.
Serve?
Eve thought of something and couldn't help but shudder, her flesh jiggling.
"Miss, I don't know what kind of grudge you two have, but..."
Mrs. Reid looked down at Samuel, who looked like a dead dog, then raised her head again. "But I'm no pushover either. I will never be soft on someone who dares to play me."
"Take him away!"
Eve understood what Mrs. Reid meant.
Since someone wanted to help her clean up this mess, she naturally didn't mind. She nodded, agreeing with Mrs. Reid.
Soon, after one phone call from Mrs. Reid, Samuel was stuffed into a bag and taken out through the bar's back door.
As for what punishment awaited him, that wasn't something Eve needed to worry about.
Right now, the priority was training.
"Show's over. Back to training." Eve looked sternly at the three. "Time can be wasted, but training can't be skipped. Complete all the exercises. Miss one, no dinner."
With a groan, Mason and the other two, whether willing or not, had to follow Eve back to the training ground.
"Eve... I, I have a question."
On the way back, Sophie hesitated for a long time before quietly approaching Eve and asking softly.
"Speak!"
Eve had her eyes closed, her plump fingers tapping on her thigh from time to time.
"Why did you hand Samuel over to Mrs. Reid? Aren't you worried she might help him?"
Eve didn't even open her eyes, but a cold smile curved her lips. "Sophie, remember this - never underestimate a woman, especially a woman's hatred."
She had sent messages to three people, and Mrs. Reid had arrived first, which clearly showed she truly cared about Samuel.
But such a person had betrayed her, being with other women at the same time.
How could Mrs. Reid contain her fury?
So what awaited Samuel definitely wouldn't be anything good.
"What about the other two ladies? Aren't you worried they'll come after you?"
Sophie still didn't understand.
Eve smiled, opened her eyes, and looked at Sophie's curious little eyes. She couldn't help but reach out and pat Sophie's head.
"Let me ask you - if you were Mrs. Cross, what would you do in this situation?"
Sophie thought for a moment, then her face suddenly turned pale, her eyes wide as she stared at Eve.
"I would pretend I knew nothing. I'd even erase all traces and evidence of anything between me and Samuel."
Eve nodded approvingly and closed her eyes again. "So, any more questions?"
Sophie shook her head and obediently returned to her seat.
From time to time, she stole admiring glances at Eve.
At that moment, Eve was planning tomorrow's training program.
After half a month, their stamina had fully adapted to high-intensity training. It was time to move on to the next phase.
"Go to the western suburbs training ground."
Marcus, who was driving, received the order and without a second's hesitation, turned the car around and headed west.
Soon, the car stopped in front of a somewhat run-down looking training facility.
"Sis, why did you bring us here?"
Mason knew this training ground. As a kid, he'd sneaked over with friends to collect bullet casings.
Supposedly, this used to be a full-service training facility with everything.
But later, for some reason, it seemed to disappear overnight.
The trainees were gone, the sounds were gone, and over time it became the abandoned place it was now.
If Eve hadn't come here today, he would have almost forgotten such a place existed.
"Wait for me in the car. I'll be right back."
