Chapter 1103: Such a Nuisance

Victor certainly couldn't hear Emma.

Emma went inside to get a towel, wetting it to wipe Victor's face.

Although she was being careful, she had never done this before and didn't know how much pressure to apply.

Victor furrowed his brows and instinctively tried to avoid her hand.

Seeing this, Emma stopped her actions and leaned close to Victor's ear, whispering, "You must be uncomfortable sleeping in these clothes. Let me help you take them off."

As soon as she finished speaking, she cautiously reached out and began unbuttoning Victor's shirt.

Just as she reached the third button, he grabbed her wrist.

Emma's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes were filled with anticipation, thinking that something might happen between them.

Unexpectedly, the next moment, Victor shook off her hand with annoyance and muttered, "Don't touch me!"

After saying that, he let go of her hand and turned to the other side, facing away from her.

Emma's expression changed multiple times, but in the end, she managed to compose herself and tentatively poked Victor.

"Victor, are you awake? Victor?"

However, Victor had already fallen back into a deep sleep and showed no response.

Emma didn't dare to undress him anymore.

After pondering for a moment, Emma gathered her courage and walked up to Victor. She lifted his hand and tried to lie down next to him, creating the illusion that he had possessed her.

Unexpectedly, just as she lifted his arm, footsteps could be heard from outside the door.

Emma abruptly stopped her movement.

Nathan didn't close the door when he left earlier. As a result, when he arrived at the door, he saw Emma holding his boss's arm as if she was ready to do something to his boss.

Taking a closer look, he noticed that his boss's shirt seemed to have been unbuttoned.

Nathan furrowed his brows and warily looked at her. "Miss Thornton, why are you still here?"

Emma felt uneasy for a moment but quickly regained her composure. She let go of Victor's arm and smiled, "I was afraid there would be no one taking care of Victor if I left."

"Then what were you doing just now?" Nathan asked suspiciously.

Emma blushed slightly and suppressed the guilt in her heart. "I thought Victor looked uncomfortable sleeping like that, so I wanted to help him turn over. Since you're here now, why don't you help him?"

Nathan didn't respond and stepped forward to help his boss turn over.

As soon as they turned him over, Victor turned over again on his own.

Evidently, he had turned over by himself earlier and there was no discomfort as Emma mentioned.

Nathan looked at Emma with confusion.

Emma smiled sheepishly

"I'll take care of Mr. Leer. It's getting late, and you should head home, Miss Thornton." Nathan politely dismissed her.

Naturally, Emma didn't want to leave so easily. "Victor specifically called me over. How can I just leave him alone? Let me take care of him."

Hearing this, Nathan glanced at his sleeping boss and speculated about his thoughts.

Although it was indeed his boss who had called her over, considering that he had just separated from Olivia, he probably didn't intend to progress with Emma so quickly, right?

With this in mind, Nathan spoke again, "Mr. Leer needs to change clothes and take a shower. You can't do these things. Let me handle it. Why don't you go rest in the guest room, Miss Thornton? I'll call you when Mr. Leer wakes up."

Emma felt displeased.

If Nathan hadn't come, she and Victor would have already taken their relationship further tonight!

Such a nuisance!

She couldn't refute Nathan, so she reluctantly agreed, "Fine then. I'll go rest in the guest room. Let me know after Victor wakes up."
