Chapter 1100: Determined to be With You
Isaac watched as Victor opened another bottle, sighing quietly to himself.
Victor's inner turmoil was undoubtedly connected to the words he had just spoken.
Since that was the case, he might as well accompany him on this drinking spree...
With that thought, Isaac let go of any reservations and joined Victor in downing drink after drink.
Perhaps influenced by Victor's mood, Isaac found himself feeling increasingly restless as well.
Before long, the two of them had finished off all the alcohol on the table.
Victor furrowed his brows, enduring a headache as he took out his phone.
He didn't drive himself there, so he needed someone to come pick him up.
Perhaps due to the alcohol, he absentmindedly scrolled through his contacts and landed on Olivia's name.
Victor frowned, his finger hovering over the name for a long time.
Just as he was about to press call, Isaac's slurred voice broke through his thoughts.
"Victor, I really… can't drink anymore!"
Isaac, thoroughly intoxicated, was holding up an empty glass and mumbling to Victor.
Victor still had a bit of clarity left.
Hearing Isaac, he snapped back to reality, hesitating over Olivia's name. After a moment, he ultimately slid past it.
Since he had decided to cut ties, he had no reason to disturb her again.
Time seemed to stretch on, and eventually, Victor's gaze landed on Emma's name.
After a brief moment of hesitation, he dialed it.
On the other end, Emma was having dinner with Abigail.
After leaving Victor's place, Emma was seething with anger and invited Abigail out to vent.
As they were talking, Emma's phone suddenly rang.
In the heat of her frustration, she glanced at the caller ID with annoyance.
When she saw who was calling, her complaints fell silent.
"What's wrong? Who's calling?" Abigail asked, glancing curiously at her phone.
Emma had already answered the call. "Victor, what's up? It's late. Is something wrong?"
She assumed Victor had finally returned home and was calling to check on her since she went to his place in the afternoon.
To her surprise, Victor's voice came through, slightly slurred, "Are you free? I had a bit to drink. Could you come pick me up?"
At those words, Emma's eyes lit up, and her irritation vanished. "Where are you? I'll be right there!"
Victor told her about the name of the club and the room number.
Emma quickly replied, "I'm on my way!"
Hearing her eager tone made Victor feel a bit uncomfortable, but he still kindly reminded her, "No need to rush."
Meanwhile, Abigail watched Emma hang up and asked with concern, "Whose call was that? Victor?"
Except for Victor, Emma couldn't think of anyone else who could make Emma so happy.
Emma beamed with joy. "That was Victor. He's drunk and asked me to come get him."
Abigail smiled knowingly and said, "Usually, when a man is drunk, he'll call his girlfriend to pick him up. Looks like Victor is determined to be with you. Congratulations, Emma!"
Emma smiled broadly as she grabbed her handbag and stood up.
Suddenly, Abigail thought of something. "Victor should be with my brother. I'll come with you. Then I'll drive him home."
Emma readily agreed.
