Chapter 1092: Completely Useless

Abigail didn't dare to ask further.

Early the next day, following Emma's request, a psychologist was brought over.

"This is our most outstanding psychologist in the hospital. You can ask him anything."

A tall man standing beside Abigail politely greeted her, "Nice to meet you, Miss Thornton."

Emma nodded. "Let's go upstairs and talk."

With that, she led the two of them to the study on the second floor.

Abigail followed behind, feeling completely confused.

At first, she thought Emma had some private matters that she couldn't hear about.

But now it seemed like Emma had no intention of avoiding her.

"Emma, what's going on?" Abigail couldn't help but ask.

Emma didn't answer immediately.

It wasn't until they entered the study that she turned to the psychologist and inquired, "How should I interact with a child with ASD? Is there any way to make her warm up to me more quickly?"

Upon hearing this, Abigail understood. "Are you talking about Sophia?"

Emma nodded, her gaze still fixed on the psychologist.

The psychologist furrowed his brows, looking somewhat troubled. "Well... every child is different, and ASD can vary in severity. I don't have specific methods, but one thing is certain when dealing with a child with ASD-patience is essential."

"What else?" Emma asked with a frown.

The psychologist shook his head. "Without direct contact, I can't make accurate judgments."

That statement was as good as not saying anything at all.

Emma glanced at the man irritably and spoke with an unpleasant attitude, "I get it. You can leave now!"

Patience again... She was tired of hearing this word!

Yesterday, Victor repeated it to her countless times!

That little brat was so resistant to her that she couldn't even get close to her. What good was patience?

And if she kept waiting like this, who could guarantee that Victor wouldn't change his mind again?

Thinking of this possibility made Emma's expression turn grim.

After Abigail saw the psychologist off and returned, she noticed Emma's unpleasant expression. She cautiously asked, "Emma, why did you suddenly bring up Sophia's matter?"

As far as she knew, Sophia resisted Emma's presence.

That was why Emma had always wanted to give that little troublemaker a hard time.

So why did she suddenly change her attitude and want to get along well with the child today?

"What else could it be for?!"

Emma felt agitated. "Victor contacted me yesterday and said he would consider continuing the engagement, but only if Sophia accepts me!"

A hint of surprise flashed in Abigail's eyes. "Really? Did Victor change his mind? What about Olivia?"

Emma had been uneasy at the thought that Victor might rekindle his relationship with Olivia. Hearing Abigail mention Olivia made her even more displeased.

Seeing Emma's cold expression, Abigail quickly stopped talking about Olivia and redirected the conversation back to Sophia.

"What are you planning to do about Sophia then?"

When Sophia was brought up, Emma felt a headache coming on. "If I had known what to do, I wouldn't have asked you to bring over the psychologist."

Who would have known it was completely useless?

The two fell silent, lost in thought.

After a while, Emma remembered a suggestion her mother had made yesterday. "She's just a child after all. I'll give her more gifts so that she will like me!"

Abigail furrowed her brows. "Do you know what Sophia likes?"

The two exchanged glances in frustration.

Although they had watched Sophia grow up, they really didn't know what that little troublemaker liked.
