Chapter 173 173
"You can say that... It's the sign of our civil relationship as Vanna's parents."
I just smiled and looked at the sky again. I hope we can have a fresh start now. We will just focus on our goal... to be the best parents for Vanna. I'm happy that everything is sorted between us.
I WOKE UP with swollen eyes. I cried last night as I remembered Aiden. I still can't believe he could do those things to me. My feelings for him are a mix of disappointment, sadness, hurt... and fear. I truly loved Aiden... but now, fear is what dominates my heart.
I just shook my head and got up. I needed to move because Vanna and I both had school. I went to the bathroom to shower and get ready. I came out immediately afterward but froze at what greeted me in the living room.
It was Vanna... with Aiden.
My whole body immediately went cold, especially when Aiden looked in my direction. He smiled at me as if I hadn't broken up with him last night. He stood up and stroked Vanna's hair.
"Vanna, baby, your mommy and I are just going to talk, okay? Stay here for a bit," Aiden said.
"Yes, Daddy," Vanna said and giggled.
My knees quivered even more when Aiden walked toward me. He held my wrist and pulled me to my room. He immediately closed the door and locked it once we were inside. The anxiety in my chest intensified.
"W-What the hell are you doing, Aiden?! Are you out of your mind? Wasn't it clear when I told you I didn't want to see you again? Why did you still come here?" I hissed, trying not to raise my voice so Vanna wouldn't hear me from the living room.
Aiden held my arm and pulled me closer to him. "I know you weren't serious last night. You can't break up with me after I worked so hard to get you, Crescent," he said sternly.
I just gasped when he held both of my cheeks and sealed my lips with a kiss. I immediately pushed his chest and slapped him as hard as I could.
"What the hell are you doing, Aiden?!" I wiped my lips and pushed him again.
Aiden licked his lower lip and glared at me. "You're really testing me, woman."
"Get out before I call the police and have you arrested!"
I snapped, about to go to the door, but he immediately grabbed my arm and pulled me away.
I let out a suppressed shriek as he shoved me onto the bed and climbed on top of me. He held my jaw tightly and made me face the window. I froze when I saw a person from a distance, on a roof, wearing black clothes and a face mask... holding a gun and pointing it at our house... specifically at the living room.
My whole body immediately trembled... Vanna... my daughter.
"I really don't want to do this, Cres. I love Vanna, I really do... but I love you more than her," he muttered in a low tone. "One signal from me, and he'll know what to do... Do you really want to disobey me, hmm, Crescent?" he asked, then kissed my neck down to my shoulder.
"H-How dare you, Aiden? Don't you ever involve my daughter... Y-You animal," I said firmly, even though tears were threatening to fall because of fear.
"Let's go back to how we were, hmm? I know that fucking Cadene Castellano already told you everything about me. You're aware of what I can do, Cres... So let's just go back to how we were, hmm?" One of his hands went down to my thigh and stroked it.
I fought the urge to push and slap him... I don't like this, I don't want this... but I couldn't risk the safety of my daughter. I would never forgive myself if something bad happened to my child.
Aiden held my jaw and kissed my lips. He positioned himself between my legs. His lips went to my neck; he sucked my skin there, trying to leave a mark. I bit my lower lip, trying to stop myself from sobbing. I really want to cry my eyes out but I just gripped the bedsheets tightly... trying to think about how I will be able to escape this.
"Crescent!"
I felt a surge of hope when I heard Luca's voice. He was knocking loudly on my bedroom door right now.
"Crescent, are you there?! Is Aiden there?! Crescent!" Luca knocked loudly again.
"Don't you dare say anything to him, Cres... Think about Vanna," Aiden whispered in my ear and bit it gently. "Let's not mind him, hmm?"
He kissed my lips again and caressed my jaw. I tried to push him but he bit my lower lip hard. I winced because my lower lip seemed to have a cut from how hard he bit it.
He only stopped when the door opened violently... Luca had kicked the door open. He froze when he saw Aiden and me.
"Dude, what are you doing? The door is locked for a reason. You're disturbing us," Aiden asked with a frown, then got up.
Even though my arms were weak, I still managed to lift myself and immediately got up. Aiden immediately held my arm and wrapped his arm around my waist. I flinched at what he did.
Luca looked at me. "What's happening, Crescent? I thought you broke up with him."
"We just had a misunderstanding... We're fine now," Aiden answered.
Luca looked at me; he seemed unconvinced. "Is that true, Crescent? Are you really alright?"
I froze when Aiden's grip on my waist tightened, as if he was intimidating me... I looked at the window... The man holding the gun was still there. My lips trembled with fear. I looked back at Luca and forced a smile.
"I-I'm fine," I said softly.
Luca stared at me for a moment... I just looked away from him.
"See? Now, will you please get out? You're bothering my girlfriend and me," annoyance was in Aiden's voice.
"I'm sorry," Luca apologized and turned his back on us.
My tears finally escaped as Luca left us. Aiden put his arm around my shoulder and kissed my temple.
"That's my girl... You did the right thing, love."
