"I thought you're gonna stay here in my house now? You really have the most inconsistent mind," Luca muttered while hugging me from behind.
"I was just carried away earlier, Luca... C'mon, I have to go home now," I just said and tried to remove his arms from my waist.
Luca loosened his hug. He faced me and hugged my waist again. "Why don't you want to stay here?" he asked, his forehead creased.
"Because I have my own house," I said and hugged his nape.
Luca nuzzled his face on my neck and hugged me tighter. "Okay, then just let me take you home. I'll just change."
I just shook my head and let him go when he broke away from me and went to his room. I bit my lower lip to suppress my smile. If I have the most inconsistent mind, then Luca has the most inconsistent personality. To be honest, he's still a mystery to me. I guess that's normal; we still don't know each other that well. Though I know to myself I'm being transparent to him. I'm also easy to read. I know that between the two of us, I'm the one who should be worried.
"Let's go," Luca said and immediately came closer to me and held my hand.
I shuddered with his sudden action. I don't know, maybe this is just normal for him, but not for me. I'm affected. That's somewhat frustrating; it looks like I'm the only one affected by these gestures of his. Maybe I should really tell him to limit himself from these gestures. It's dangerous for me.
My words were cut off when I looked at him. We're walking our way to his garage. I just noticed that he's wearing the same outfit when I met him the first time. He's wearing simple pants and a leather jacket with a white t-shirt beneath. He looks dashing, and he smells so good. I was instantly lost in thought while appreciating him.
"Crescent... you know, we can just go back inside and spend our day having sex," Luca muttered when we're finally inside his car... I didn't even notice.
I just cleared my throat and avoided his gaze. "Stop it. I'm going home now," I just said and looked out the window.
Luca just laughed softly and started to drive the car. I just looked out the window and sighed... Luca wasn't part of my plan, but now my vacation time revolves around him. I feel bad because I don't dislike it... I'm actually enjoying his company... so much.
"Oh, shoot."
Luca froze and briefly glanced at me when I suddenly spoke. I just took my phone from my sling bag and looked at my calendar... It's my gym schedule today. I almost forgot. I guess I'll just do an easy workout first since some parts of my body still hurt because of Luca.
"Why?" Luca asked and touched my thigh... I love the way his rough and calloused hand caressed my thick thigh.
I bit my lower lip when he gently caressed it with his thumb. I took a deep breath and calmed the butterflies in my stomach. I just looked at him and tried to act unaffected.
"I have to go to the gym," I just said and looked at my phone again and pretended to be busy there.
"I'll go with you," he just said.
I immediately shook my head. "Y-You don't have to. You might get bored there, and besides, you might have other things to do."
"I won't get bored as long as you're there."
I bit the insides of my cheeks and tried to calm my racing heart. I just cleared my throat and shook my head... I'm probably just feeling this because I haven't experienced this before. I spent all my life working my ass off. This is nothing. This is just a simple crush.
I let out a heavy sigh. This stupid feeling should be stopped as soon as possible. Before it gets worse.
"Seriously, Luca. You don't have to come with me. Just take me home. You go home too and rest after you drop me off, or if you have something to do, just do that instead. Don't you have anything else to do?" I just asked.
"Hmm, aside from being a soldier, I have a business partnership with some of my friends, and I usually work at night when I'm not in a war."
"Why do you work at night?" I asked, my forehead creased.
Luca chuckled and tapped his index finger on the steering wheel. "Hmm... let's just say that my work is too dangerous, so it must be done at night," he just said.
I bit my lower lip and nodded. I'm curious about what kind of work he's actually doing, and I want to ask more, but I don't want to look like I'm interested in him, so I just kept quiet.
After a while, we arrived at the apartment where I live. Luca immediately got out and opened the car door for me. I immediately smiled at him and got out of the car.
"Thank you, Luca. I'll go inside now, you go home too so you can rest. You have work tonight, right?"
Luca nodded and scratched the back of his neck. It seems like he doesn't want to leave yet. I just smiled and shook my head... I'm setting the limits now. I shouldn't be defeated by my feelings. It's actually new to me because I always think first before I do or engage myself in something. I think I'm becoming dull.
"Okay. Have a great day, Crescent. See you later," he said and held my arm and gently caressed it.
I let out a soft gasp when he suddenly kissed my cheek. It was just a soft peck, but it caused a ruckus in my system.
"B-Bye," I just said and immediately turned my back on him and hurriedly entered my apartment.
I weakly leaned against the door when I got inside and held my chest. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, then calmed myself down. I'm embarrassed because I'm still acting like this despite everything that happened between me and Luca last night. I shouldn't be embarrassed anymore by a simple kiss on the lips.
"Wow, my friend looks blooming."
I almost jumped in surprise when I heard Ivana's voice. She's sitting on the sofa, looking at me with raised eyebrows. I just bit my lower lip and closed my eyes tightly. I almost forgot about her.
"H-Hi," I greeted her awkwardly and smiled.
"Don't 'hi' me... Who's that yummy guy who dropped you off and even kissed you on the cheeks? Oh my, I was so worried about you last night because you just disappeared, and then... OMG, I feel so betrayed," she said, shaking her head, then she discreetly peeked out the window.
"S-Sorry... It's just... everything happened too fast," I mumbled and sat beside her.
I know I would tell her everything anyway. We don't keep secrets from each other... Maybe I'll also ask for her advice since she's knowledgeable about these things.
"Ivana, h-have you ever had a f-fuck buddy or friends with benefits, right?" I asked, stammering.
Ivana nodded. "Yes, I always tell you about it, but you never listen because you're innocent... Why do you ask? Is that handsome guy your fuck buddy?" Her eyes narrowed.
"W-Well, something like that..."
"I told you to find a boyfriend, not a fuck buddy. It's hard for you because you're a beginner. You'll fall easily," she said, shaking her head, as if scolding me.
"W-What shall I do to avoid that from happening? I don't want to fall for him. H-He's way out of my league, and besides, h-he's in love with another woman." I mumbled the last part; it was almost inaudible.
Ivana gasped at what I said. I just bit my lower lip and looked away from her because I'm sure I'll get a huge lecture from her.
She slapped my arm hard. "You idiot!"
"D-Don't overreact. He doesn't have a girlfriend yet... and besides, I don't have deep feelings for him yet," I just said and held my arm.
"That's where it's headed, Crescent North! Knowing how naive a-and inexperienced you are, you'll eventually fall for him! My goodness... Seeing that guy, it's obvious he's an expert in these kinds of situations, Crescent. You just put yourself in a situation where you'll definitely lose... You know, sis. It's fine with me if you have a fuck buddy or what... but I'm always telling you to be careful, right?"
