Chapter 29
"Stay away from Aryana, or I will distance myself from you. It's your choice, Alpha," I stated firmly.
"Amelia, how many times must I assure you that I have no interest in that woman? Please believe me," he pleaded gently.
"I simply don't want you near her. I don't want you to speak to her anymore," I responded emphatically.
"Amelia, that's not possible. She is Norman's cousin, so it's inevitable that we will interact. But you don't have to worry because she will be returning to his place. However, for now, she has to stay here due to the threat of Rogue Dragus and other Rogues," he explained.
His words shook me, but he took hold of my hand and suddenly knelt before me. I was astonished by his actions, my eyes widening in disbelief that he would kneel just to appease me.
"Please trust me, Amelia. I only want you," he said softly.
"Why don't you accept me as your mate so that we can freely be together? We can bond as one, Amelia," he tried to convince me with a smile.
"You will never claim me as your mate!" my mind protested.
I immediately released his grip on my hand and made him stand up. I heard him sigh, and I boldly approached him, running my hand across his broad chest.
We locked eyes, and his gaze softened with a touch of vulnerability. But he would never deceive me again. Never!
I expressed my desire to him, saying, "If you want, Alpha, you can have my body. Just stay away from Aryana."
He responded seriously, "I don't want your body, Amelia. I want you."
His words caused a surge of electricity to run through my body, and I swallowed nervously. Trying to hide my true emotions, I forced a smile.
"Stay away from Aryana, or I will continue to reject you as my mate," I threatened, raising my eyebrows.
He simply shrugged in response, letting out a sigh before nodding at me.
"So what?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"Yes, I will," he replied.
Confused, I questioned him further, "What do you mean?"
"I will stay away from Aryana if that's what you want," he clarified.
His words brought a smile to my face, and he mirrored my expression. However, our moment was interrupted by Alice's coughing behind us.
"Alice," I said, acknowledging her presence.
"Excuse me, Alpha and Amelia. I'm just delivering food to the guards," Alice explained with a smile, carrying a tray of food.
"Alright, Alice," Alpha Damien responded with a smile, and I smiled back at him.
As Alice left, Alpha Damien offered to escort me to my room. During our walk, we engaged in conversation, but I was taken aback when he suddenly asked about my parents, causing my blood to boil.
"Let's not talk about them," I told him firmly.
"Why? Are you still unable to move on from what happened to them?" he inquired.
My anger intensified, and I couldn't help but raise my voice. He was surprised by my reaction, as he persisted in wanting to know about my parents.
"Don't you understand?!" I shouted at him.
"I said let's not talk about them!" I reiterated firmly.
"I'm sorry. Just calm down, Amelia," he apologized calmly.
Taking a deep breath to compose myself, I bid him farewell and entered my room.
Once inside, I released the anger I had been feeling, taking a deep breath to let it all out.
I was furious when he inquired about my parents, thinking he could escape his sins from my family. He will face consequences as I will ensure his misery! Tears streamed down my face, which I quickly wiped away.
Instead of succumbing to my emotions, I decided to leave the room and head to the Castle. Looking out the window, I saw the guards patrolling outside. I devised a plan to leave the Castle and sought solace in a dangerous world outside.
Despite the risks, I had the strength to protect myself. Upon exiting the castle, I sprinted to my favorite spot in the heart of the forest.
As I reached the serene location, I felt a sense of relief, especially admiring the clear water flowing. Although night was approaching, I desired to remain in that peaceful place.
Leaning against a tree, I unintentionally drifted off to sleep, finding solace in the midst of chaos. Despite my exhaustion, I was determined to fulfill my promise to my parents and myself before returning to the human world.
"He will face the consequences. I will ensure his suffering. That's a vow to my parents. I will not show weakness," I affirmed. However, his smile flashed in my mind, irritating me to no end.
"Stop it, Amelia!" I scolded myself.
Suddenly, Alpha Damien's voice startled me. I turned to see him with a furrowed brow. I questioned his intentions, to which he calmly urged me to return home. Despite his persuasion, I remained obstinate.
Let's return to the castle," he stated gravely.
"No, I prefer to stay here. I have no desire to return there, Alpha," I declined.
"Please, Amelia," he pleaded.
"Kindly allow me to remain here for the time being, Alpha," I informed him.
"You are welcome to stay with me if you wish," I added with a grin.
"Hmm? Are you not interested in accompanying me, Alpha? Would you rather be with Aryana?" I inquired.
"It's not like that, Amelia," he responded calmly.
I simply smiled at him and persuaded him to sit beside me. I knew he could not resist me, and I smiled because I found it effortless to influence him. However, I was puzzled as to why I felt irritated by the realization that I might be falling for him, even though I knew I should not.
"I desire to spend the night here with you, Alpha," I whispered seductively to him, while reaching for his leg and moving closer to his thigh, but he promptly evaded my touch.
Shortly after, we heard a commotion in the distance and exchanged glances. Without delay, Alpha rose to his feet and anxiously urged me to return to Woundwoods. Yet, I implored him to stay with me in that location.
"Please, let us go back, Amelia. I have a strong intuition that something dreadful is unfolding at the castle," he expressed with concern.
Eventually, I was compelled to accompany him, and together we hurried back to the castle. Upon our arrival, I was taken aback by what I witnessed.
"I have neglected my pack!" he exclaimed loudly.
