Chapter 19

A few moments later, I emerged from the bathroom. They were laughing joyfully, and it was clear that Alpha had been drinking. I could see Aryana giving him a longing look.

"She's really testing my patience," I muttered to myself.

Without hesitation, I approached Alpha Damien and took a seat beside him. I tightly held onto his arm and flashed him a sweet smile. Slowly, my hands made their way up his leg, gently caressing his thigh. However, he pulled back slightly, clearly ticklish. I leaned in and whispered to him, maintaining my sweet smile. Aryana's gaze was filled with malice, but it was evident that she was also intoxicated.

It was clear that this woman was envious because I had Alpha's attention.

"Stay close to me, Alpha," I whispered.

"Will you finally accept me as your mate?" he slurred.

I could see Aryana giving him a stern look. I took pleasure in teasing this woman. She was obviously jealous because Alpha Damien was being affectionate towards me.

"Come with me, Alpha," I whispered, a smile playing on my lips.

"Where are we going?" he asked, his smile unwavering.

It was evident that he was drunk, as his smile remained constant. He couldn't wipe that smile off his face.

"Let's go to your room," I said seductively.

"Let's stay here for a bit, Amelia. Let's have a few more drinks," he suggested, raising his glass.

After some time, he stood up and accompanied me to his room. Aryana offered to help, but I declined. She didn't do anything because Alpha Dior listened to me more. I smirked as I glanced at her.

As we walked down the corridor towards his room, Alpha leaned on my shoulder. He pretended to walk steadily, his arm draped heavily around me. His muscular physique made him quite heavy, but I was strong enough to handle it without much difficulty.

Upon entering his room, I gently laid him down. I couldn't help but admire his broad chest and the defined abs peeking through his well-fitted clothes. I found myself captivated by his masculine physique. To my surprise, he pulled me closer, and our faces were only a few centimeters apart.

My friend," he whispered.

I felt a lump in my throat upon hearing those words. I quickly distanced myself from him, my heart racing inexplicably. Clutching my chest, I hurriedly left the room.

"Stay strong, Amelia! Don't give in to these feelings!" I reminded myself.

"It's all in your head. Just ignore it!" I added.

My focus should be on seeking justice for my parents. So why am I feeling this way?

As I walked down the hallway, I accidentally bumped into Alice in my haste. We exchanged glances, and I couldn't help but inquire about Norman and Aryana.

"Hey, Alice," I greeted her.

"Where are they?" I asked.

"They're resting," she replied.

"And Aryana?" I pressed further.

"She's resting too. I took her to the room Alpha prepared," Martha informed me with a smile.

"Alpha prepared a room?!" I exclaimed.

"Yes," she confirmed.

I was irritated by her response. Feeling a wave of sadness wash over me, I bid Alice farewell before retreating to my room.

Once inside, tears streamed down my face. I cried out of frustration with my conflicting emotions. I refused to let my parents down. My sole purpose was to bring justice to their memory.

"No! I won't falter. I promise, Mom, Dad!" I vowed to myself.

Despite my feelings for him, I couldn't forget that he was responsible for my parents' deaths. He was the reason I was orphaned. He was the one who ruthlessly took their lives, leaving me with one of the darkest memories of my existence.

The following day, I woke up early and freshened up. I enhanced my appearance to catch the Alpha's attention. My ultimate goal is to captivate and manipulate the Alpha's heart. I must remain strong and focused. Absolutely not!

There was a sudden knock on my room door. I hurried to open it. Upon opening, I was greeted by the Alpha's smiling face. His smile was charming, but I stayed true to my intentions.

"Hello, Alpha," I greeted him warmly.

"I apologize for getting drunk last night, Amelia. I had a great time with everyone," he said with a smile.

"No worries," I replied, smiling back.

"Thank you for helping me to my room. It's the second time you've done that," he expressed his gratitude.

"If you're protective of me, I'll be the same towards you, Alpha," I assured him.

"Did I hear you correctly?" he inquired, smiling.

"Yes, I like you, but I'm not ready yet," I confessed with a smile.

"That's okay. As long as I know you have feelings for me too," he responded with a smile.

"Perhaps I do like you, but that won't stop me from seeking revenge. You still have a debt to pay!" I resolved silently.

"Any plans for today?" I asked him.

"Nothing in particular. Why?" he questioned.

"I want to visit the Cave where the Magnus book is. I'm still intrigued," I revealed.

"It's risky, Amelia. Remember what happened last night?" he cautioned.

“Yes, but you are here to protect me. I have no worries. Will you protect me, right?" I inquired sweetly.

"Didn't you mention that the fated mates will have their names written there?" I inquired further.

"I would like to see where you inscribe my name," I softly stated.

He chuckled and grinned at my words. I believe I have won him over with my sweet talk.

"Alright then. I will show it to you now so I can make it up to you for what happened last night," he responded with a smile.

"That's great to hear!" I replied with a smile.

"Shall we?" I invited him.

As we exited the castle, he took my hand and suddenly we were far away due to his speed. I noticed a mountain in the distance and he pointed towards it.

"Inside that mountain lies the cave where the Book of Magnus is kept," he said solemnly.

I grew more curious, especially with my inquiries to him. We proceeded cautiously down the narrow path. He explained that it was the entrance to the cave where the sacred book was kept, the Book of Magnus.
