Chapter 17

Alpha was taken aback by my words and stared intensely at Jemma. Jemma couldn't respond immediately because she was afraid of Alpha Damien's furious expression.

"Is this true, Jemma? Did you really speak ill of her?!" he interrogated Jemma with a scowl.

"Uhmm," Jemma stuttered.

"What did Amelia do to you? Why are you treating her like that?! What's your issue?!" he asked angrily.

"He's just deceiving you, Alpha. He doesn't deserve to be Luna!" Jemma replied firmly.

My admiration for this woman grew stronger. I wanted to defend her, but I allowed Alpha Damien to confront her face to face.

"Really?! Who deserves to be Luna? You?!" Alpha said firmly.

"Remember, Jemma, no matter what harm you cause to Amelia. I will still choose her to be my Luna, not you!" Alpha Damien responded seriously.

I could clearly see Jemma's anger as she glared at me. She ran away from us, clearly hurt by what she heard from Alpha Damien.

"Are you alright?" he asked in a cold tone.

"Thank you for taking my side against that girl. She is a liar, Alpha, and she will do anything to tarnish my reputation. Never believe what she says or will say," I replied.

"I know, and I never believed her. I know she wants to be my Luna, but I can't imagine raising a child with her. You're the only one, Amelia. You're the only one I see," he said seriously.

"How can you be certain that I am truly your mate? I mean, are you really sure you like me?" I inquired.

"Your scent, Amelia. I'm sure it's you," he answered with a smile.

"I know you feel it too. But it's unfortunate to say that you're not ready yet," he added.

"Then you'll have to wait for me," I said with a smile.

"Of course, so you're not angry with me anymore? Have you forgiven me?" he asked with a smile.

I hadn't realized that my resentment towards him had dissipated. He took my hand and embraced me. I took a deep breath and savored that hug for a moment. But I was surprised to hear the Greek words he uttered, causing me to immediately release myself from his embrace. What does it mean?

I inquired about the word curiously, and he simply smiled and clarified its meaning. I felt relieved, thinking it was a ritual to make me his mate. I chuckled to myself silently. He apologized for any confusion and assured me of the truth. As a guard approached, he bid me farewell, and I reciprocated.

Intrigued, I trailed him discreetly to eavesdrop on his conversation with a stunning woman. Envious, I wondered about her identity. Desperate to hear their discussion, I strained to listen but Alpha Damien's voice was too powerful. As they entered a room, I pondered on the woman's significance.

Anxious, I devised a plan to enter the room by pretending to bring food for Alice. Upon knocking, Alpha Damien informed me that Alice was elsewhere. Despite feeling embarrassed, I insisted on leaving the food and noticed the woman's gaze on me. I couldn't resist admiring her beauty, though I was wary of her potential opposition to my intentions.

Nice to meet you, Amelia. I can see why Alpha Damien chose you," she greeted with a smile.

"I just noticed you here," I responded seriously.

"I am an Omega. I prefer to live alone in a peaceful environment. But when I learned about Norman's condition, I decided to come here," she explained gently.

I discovered that Norman is her cousin. However, I couldn't understand why her soft voice irritated me. I kept it to myself as I didn't want to appear negative in Alpha Damien's eyes.

"Why did you choose to distance yourself from your cousin? Do you think this place isn't peaceful?" I inquired firmly.

"It's not like that, Amelia," she clarified.

"Omegas are like that. Only a few of them opt to stay with their pack. They are independent and despite being in a lower class, they believe they can defend themselves," Alpha Damien elaborated.

"Does that mean you don't have to protect her?" I questioned.

"Yes, but if she needs assistance, I'm always available to help her," he responded with a smile.

My blood boiled at his words. I tried to suppress it because I knew I shouldn't feel that way. Alice entered with a food tray and seemed surprised to see me inside with Aryana and Alpha Damien.

"You're here too," she greeted, smiling.

I observed how Alice cared for Norman. She fed him as he had trouble moving. Norman simply glanced at me, causing me to quickly avert my gaze and focus on Aryana. I noticed how she gazed at Alpha Damien, and I felt repulsed.

Eventually, Aryana bid farewell, and Alpha Damien offered to escort her. She declined, so he simply accompanied her to the gate of Wound Woods.

As the days went by, Norman slowly recovered, and Alpha Damien was occupied training his pack members to ensure they were prepared for any potential threats from enemies.

"Let's always be prepared for the potential attack from our enemy. I don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate as Dylan and his group. We will not let anyone or anything defeat us," he stated gravely in front of his pack.

"Do we all understand each other?!" he exclaimed loudly.

"Yes, Alpha," the wolves responded boldly.

The forces of the Bloody Scar pack grew even stronger. The security around the entire castle became tighter. As a result, I became more cautious with my actions.

"Where are you headed?" Alpha Damien inquired.

"Um, I'm going to assist Alice in preparing food for the gathering later, Alpha," I replied.

"You needn't worry anymore. Let Alice and the other Arwanas handle the food preparations," he said calmly.

"But I still want to help, Alpha. I also want to learn about other tasks within the castle," I insisted.

"If that's what you desire, I won't stop you any longer. Just remember to stop and rest if you get tired, and leave the work to the Arwanas," he said seriously.

I nodded and smiled at him. I made my way to the kitchen to assist Alice and the Arwanas with the food preparations. The Arwanas were responsible for cooking inside the castle. They were werewolves who chose to remain unmarried and never seek out their mates.

"You're here, Amelia. What brings you here?" Alice asked.

"I want to help, Alice," I replied with a smile.

"Oh, there's no need. We can handle it. You don't have to worry because the Arwanas are here," Alice declined.

"In fact, we're almost finished," Alice said with a smile.

I gasped at her words. However, I overheard the two Arwana women conversing. I listened intently, and my blood warmed as I heard their words.

"I heard that Abi Aryana, Norman's beautiful cousin, will be coming here. She's going to love this. This food is her favorite, so I'm excited to see her reaction," one woman said.

"Do you think Alpha Damien and her have a chance? I believe Abi Aryana deserves to be Luna more than the woman Alpha Damien just met. We don't know the true intentions of that woman. I trust Abi Aryana more than her," the other woman expressed.
