Chapter 133 Being Disliked
Under the light, the cufflinks sparkled with two stunning sapphires, giving off a deep blue glow that was both subtle and luxurious.
"Wow, they're gorgeous!" Isabella's eyes lit up as she saw them.
Jasmine chimed in, "Shall we go in and check them out?"
"Absolutely!"
They strolled into the store, and the sales associate greeted them warmly. "Hello, ladies. What can I help you with today?"
"We'd like to see those cufflinks," Jasmine said, pointing to the pair in the display case.
The sales associate took out the cufflinks and handed them to Isabella. "Here you go, ma'am. These are our latest cufflinks with top-quality sapphires. They're unique and perfect for your partner."
Isabella examined the cufflinks closely, the sapphire's glow reflecting in her clear eyes, making her look even more enchanting.
"Jasmine, do you think these would be a good gift for Alexander?" Isabella asked.
"Absolutely! He'd look so handsome with these cufflinks," Jasmine replied without hesitation.
"Great, we'll take them," Isabella told the sales associate. She pulled out her card and paid, using the money she'd earned from acting and making short videos to buy Alexander's gift.
"Wait a moment," the sales associate called out. "Would you like to see some other styles? We have many new designs, like this one..."
The sales associate started enthusiastically showing other products, making Isabella's head spin. She wasn't in the mood for more shopping and just wanted to leave, so she firmly said, "No thanks."
"Yeah, we're set on these," Jasmine agreed.
Seeing her sales pitch fail, the sales associate's expression turned cold, and she sarcastically remarked, "Seriously? You're only buying a pair of cufflinks in a pricey store? And the cheapest ones? Unbelievable."
Isabella and Jasmine exchanged a look, both feeling a bit helpless.
"What we buy is none of your business," Jasmine shot back.
"Exactly, we buy what we like. Mind your own business," Isabella added, mustering her courage.
Realizing they weren't easy to deal with, the sales associate snorted, rolled her eyes, and ignored them.
Jasmine, not one to be bullied, grabbed the sales associate's name tag and snapped a picture with her phone.
"What are you doing?" the sales associate asked, startled.
"Just documenting your poor service so I can file a complaint with your headquarters," Jasmine said with a smile, waving her phone.
The sales associate's expression changed, but she quickly regained her composure and disdainfully said, "Go ahead. Our store is a big brand; not just anyone can file a complaint."
"Really? We'll see about that," Jasmine said, pulling Isabella away.
As they walked out of the store, Isabella's smile faded. She gently tugged on Jasmine's sleeve and whispered, "Jasmine, do you think these cufflinks are too cheap? Will they be embarrassing to give?"
Jasmine stopped and couldn't help but smile at Isabella's worried expression. "Don't worry. It's a token of your affection. Mr. Brown won't mind."
Isabella bit her lip, frowning slightly. "But these cufflinks are really cheap. I'm worried Alexander won't like them."
Seeing Isabella's anxious expression, Jasmine knew she really cared about Alexander and was afraid her gift wouldn't be appreciated.
She gently pinched Isabella's cheek and smiled. "You're overthinking it! With Mr. Brown's status and power, he won't care about the price of the gift. A small, handmade gift will show your feelings and touch his heart more."
Isabella's eyes lit up. "You're right! I can make a gift for Alexander myself! Jasmine, you're a genius!"
Jasmine laughed at Isabella's innocent and lovely expression. Isabella was adorably naive.
"So, what kind of gift are you planning to make?" Jasmine asked.
Isabella tilted her head, thinking seriously. After a moment, her eyes sparkled with excitement. "I'll make matching phone cases for us! I'll put pictures of Alexander and me on them, so every time he sees the phone case, he'll think of me!"
Seeing Isabella's sweet, love-struck expression, Jasmine couldn't help but tease, "Look at you, completely head over heels."
Isabella's cheeks flushed, and she playfully scolded, "Jasmine, stop teasing me."
"Alright, alright," Jasmine said with a smile.
"Jasmine, what style should I make? Sparkly, cartoonish, or simple?" Isabella was deep in thought, counting on her fingers and planning seriously.
Jasmine laughed. "Stop overthinking it. Let's go check out some materials first! You might get new ideas."
"You're right!" Isabella nodded eagerly.
They chatted and laughed, walking down the shopping street. Suddenly, Isabella stopped and stared at a bar on the corner.
"What's up?" Jasmine followed Isabella's gaze, curious.
"Isn't that Jagger's car?" Isabella pointed to a black SUV parked in front of the bar, sounding surprised.
Jasmine looked closely. It was! She raised an eyebrow and teased, "Why is he here? Does Jagger like hanging out in places like this?"
Isabella shook her head, puzzled. "I don't know. He doesn't seem like the type."
Driven by curiosity, Isabella pulled Jasmine into the bar.
The bar was dimly lit, with deafening music and the smell of alcohol thick in the air. Feeling uncomfortable, Isabella instinctively moved closer to Jasmine.
They looked around and soon spotted Jagger in a corner, sitting alone at the bar with a glass of whiskey, his gaze fixed on a woman on the stage.
The woman wore a red dress, her figure curvaceous, with long hair cascading down. Under the stage lights, she looked particularly alluring.
She was singing a song while playing the bass, her voice deep and magnetic, with a hint of melancholy.
"Isn't that Cecilia?" Isabella immediately recognized the woman on stage and covered her mouth in surprise.
Jasmine also recognized Cecilia. She leaned in and whispered to Isabella, "Does Jagger have a crush on Cecilia?"
Isabella looked at Jagger's lonely figure and felt a sudden pang of sympathy.
