Chapter 132 Being Invited
"By the number of days?" Isabella blinked, totally confused by what Alexander meant.
"It means..." Alexander paused, then leaned in close to Isabella's ear and whispered, "For every day we're apart, we make love that many times."
Isabella's eyes went wide with surprise. Seriously? Being apart for so many days, that would mean a lot of... you know.
"No way, Alexander!" Flustered, Isabella shook her head, trying to push him away.
But Alexander grabbed her hands, intertwining their fingers and pinning them above her head. He looked down at her, his deep eyes twinkling with amusement. "Why not?"
"I..." Isabella's face turned bright red, and she stammered, unable to finish her sentence.
"Tell me, why not?" Alexander's voice was low and husky, with a hint of seduction.
"It's just..." Isabella bit her lip, her eyes reddening as she looked at Alexander pitifully. "It's too much."
Seeing her shy and delicate expression, Alexander's heart softened. He lowered his head and kissed the corner of her eye, his voice hoarse. "Silly girl, what are you talking about?"
"But..." Isabella tried to say more, but Alexander's kiss silenced her. His kiss was both domineering and gentle, making her lose herself in it. Isabella gradually gave in, her initial resistance turning into compliance.
The room's temperature rose, and a romantic atmosphere filled the air.
Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting dappled patterns of light and shadow. Isabella woke from a deep sleep, feeling a bit tired but with a heart full of sweetness.
She rubbed her eyes and noticed Alexander sitting on the edge of the bed, talking on the phone with his back to her.
"No problem, I'll handle it." Alexander's voice was still deep and authoritative, even in a simple conversation.
Isabella quietly sat up, pulling her disheveled hair over her shoulder. She secretly observed Alexander's broad back and muscled arm, which looked particularly attractive in the sunlight.
"Alexander, you really have so much energy," Isabella muttered softly, her voice filled with shyness and admiration.
Alexander hung up the phone, then turned around and saw Isabella looking at him, her eyes still carrying a hint of sleepy laziness, like a kitten just waking up.
"Awake? Hungry?" Alexander walked to the bed and gently tapped Isabella's nose, his tone indulgent.
"Yes, hungry!" Isabella nodded eagerly.
Alexander chuckled. This Isabella was so adorable that he wanted to hold her tight.
"Let's go, Aurora has already made breakfast." Alexander took Isabella's hand and led her to the dining room.
The table was filled with a sumptuous spread, all of Isabella's favorite dishes.
"Wow, so much delicious food!" Isabella's eyes lit up instantly, like she had discovered a treasure.
"Eat as much as you like." Alexander looked at her tenderly, his eyes full of affection.
Isabella picked up her utensils and eagerly took a bite. "So good! Aurora's cooking is amazing! I've missed it so much!"
"Look at you, so greedy." Alexander said while placing a piece of fish in Isabella's bowl.
"Thank you!" Isabella smiled sweetly and focused on her meal.
Seeing Isabella eat with such satisfaction, Alexander's smile deepened.
After the meal, Isabella curled up on the couch scrolling through her phone, while Alexander sat nearby handling work.
"Wow, this puppy is so cute!" Isabella suddenly exclaimed, showing her phone screen to Alexander. "Look, isn't it adorable?"
Alexander glanced from his computer screen to Isabella's phone. On the screen, a fluffy puppy was sticking out its tongue, looking absolutely adorable.
"Yeah, super cute." Alexander nodded, making a mental note of Isabella's love for puppies.
"It would be great to have one," Isabella muttered softly, her voice full of longing.
Alexander closed his laptop and looked at her. "Do you like puppies?"
"Yes!" Isabella nodded eagerly. "But I couldn't have pets where I used to live."
"Well, now you can." Alexander said calmly, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
"Really?" Isabella's eyes widened in surprise.
"Yep." Alexander smiled. "In a few days, we'll go pick one out together."
"That's awesome! Thank you, Alexander!" Isabella excitedly threw herself into Alexander's arms and kissed his cheek. Alexander couldn't help but smile, holding her tightly. Suddenly, his phone rang.
"Hello, Manuel." Alexander answered, his tone steady as ever. "Tonight? Sure, no problem, see you at the usual place." The brief conversation caught Isabella's attention.
Alexander hung up and saw Isabella looking at him curiously.
"Alexander, are you going out?" Isabella blinked, her tone carrying a hint of subtle disappointment.
"Manuel invited me to the bar tonight. Do you want to come?" Alexander ruffled Isabella's hair gently, his tone soft.
"The bar?" Isabella hesitated, picturing the dim lights and loud music, then shook her head. "I think I'll pass. You guys have fun."
Even though she wanted to stay with Alexander, Isabella knew she wouldn't enjoy herself at a bar since she didn't drink.
"Are you sure? Then I'll bring you back some desserts since you won't be going." Alexander looked at Isabella, his eyes full of affection.
At the mention of desserts, Isabella's eyes lit up. "Really? Then I want strawberry cake, mango crepes, and..."
Alexander chuckled and shook his head. She was so easy to please. "Alright, I'll bring them all for you."
"Alexander, you're the best!" Isabella happily hugged Alexander's arm and kissed his cheek.
Alexander looked at the delighted Isabella in his arms, his lips curling into a doting smile. "If you get bored, you can ask Jasmine to go shopping with you. Use my card for anything you want."
"Really? I can use it for anything?" Isabella's eyes lit up instantly.
"Yes, anything." Alexander smiled indulgently. "Don't save money for me, got it?"
"You're the best!" Isabella jumped up excitedly.
She immediately dialed Jasmine's number. "Hey, Jasmine, let's go shopping tonight! My treat!"
"You actually invited me to go shopping?" Jasmine teased.
"Stop teasing me. I'm bored at home. Come keep me company!" Isabella said.
"Alright, alright, since I'm your best friend, see you tonight!"
In the evening, after dinner, the two of them appeared on the busiest shopping street.
"Isabella, what do you want to buy?" Jasmine asked enthusiastically, linking arms with Isabella.
"I don't know, let's just browse around first." Isabella didn't have much of a shopping urge; she just wanted someone to talk to.
They wandered from clothing stores to cosmetic stores, from jewelry stores to shoe stores, but they didn't find anything they particularly liked.
Jasmine suddenly pointed to a pair of gemstone cufflinks in the display window. "Isabella, what do you think of these cufflinks?"
