Pregnant

After the black hole from which the monsters escaped was closed, Curtis and the others returned to the palace. This made the palace very tense. It was no longer a secret that Curtis always made the palace residents tense. But there was usually Swana to protect them. Now that Swana had gone north, there was no money to rely on for protection. So everyone worked quickly and quietly.

Samuel and Jason realized this. They also felt that Curtis and the Arta soldiers were not wanted at all. But Samuel never considered it important. Because everyone in the Sinclair kingdom was Curtis' conqueror. Like it or not, they had to accept that fact.

"Welcome, Commander," said Noel who led the nobles in welcoming Curtis.

"Yes."

That was Curtis' only response. He never wanted to make small talk with anyone including Noel.

Noel was used to Curtis' attitude. He was currently just waiting for the throne to be handed over to him.

'If only the Commander didn't have a problem with grudges. Even I don't think about that,' Samuel thought.

He could now only live his days by covering his ears so as not to hear everyone's gossip. Because most of them were saying how much they hated Curtis and Arta's army.

On the other hand, Curtis, who had been able to forget Swana while fighting monsters, began to be tormented by his longing. He really didn't know how to deal with the crazy longing. His entire body tissues were literally screaming for Swana.

"How can I forget this!" Curtis shouted.

He who could not break the mate bond, nor forgive Swana, was tormenting himself. Curtis began to realize that he was a coward.

As he drowned in his own misery. Someone knocked on his door. That someone was Nancy.

"Your Highness, we have news for you," Nancy said.

Curtis was naturally surprised. He knew that Nancy was always around Swana, but now she came alone.

"You... why are you here? What about Swana if you are here?" Curtis' question was of course based on worry. Nancy could clearly feel it. So she was calm when she explained why she had come.

"The Queen is with the other servants. But I'm here to tell you that she's pregnant."

Curtis' body seemed to freeze. The news he heard was so amazing that he lost his words.

"You're not lying, are you?" Curtis asked.

"I wouldn't dare lie about something like that," Nancy replied.

"So..."

"Yes, the queen is pregnant with your child. So please don't be angry with the queen anymore."

Nancy said this while kneeling down. She could see the sadness on Swana's face though the girl remained silent.

Of course Curtis was very happy. He really didn't expect Swana to be pregnant.

But when he thought about it, it was no surprise that Swana was pregnant. Before his quarrel, he had never forgotten to make love to his wife.

Feeling happy, he finally smiled. A smile that had been missing from his lips for a long time.

"Alright. I'll be there."

Nancy would have been very happy. It could be that Curtis would leave the palace and the royal city. Then settle down in the north as the grand duke of the north.

"If so, I take my leave to return to the north. I can't leave the queen for long," Nancy said.

Curtis nodded. He proved the bell for the servants to come.

"What can we do for you, Your Highness?" Asked the servant.

"Give Samuel a message to come here."

"Yes, Your Highness."

Curtis wanted to ask Samuel what he should bring to meet Swana. The news of her pregnancy was so overwhelming. He even forgot the anger he had been harboring for the past few days.

Samuel arrived shortly after Curtis sent the servant. He calmly gave his weight to the Commander.

"I am ready to take orders, Your Majesty," Samuel said.

"Sam, Swana is pregnant. You heard, she's pregnant ahahaha my goodness. I'm really happy. "

Samuel blinked. This news was like an answer to the problem he had been thinking about.

"Is that true? Congratulations, Your Highness. I'm very happy to hear the good news."

"Now tell me Sam, what should I bring to see him?" Curtis asked.

His normally frightening face turned childlike. Samuel smiled slightly. He felt that it was time to say what was in his heart.

So Samuel wanted to suggest that the best gift for Swana would be Curtis.

"Your Highness, your arrival is something the queen would have wanted. The queen has never lacked for anything, so I believe that your arrival and your forgiveness is her greatest gift."

"What? Why is that all?"

"What I mean is, your presence there to accompany her for a lifetime. We know that the queen wants to live in peace."

In other words, Curtis should leave the palace for the North and become a grand duke there. Accompany Swana for life because she wanted peace and to be away from politics.

Samuel's suggestion made Curtis quiet. He began to remember what Swana had said.

Peace...

Well, Swana at that time said she wanted to live in peace while shedding tears. That was why she asked Eden to heal Noel. She did all that so that she would no longer bear the burden of responsibility as a queen.

Curtis was silent for a while, he just stood without saying anything. It was the same with Samuel. He didn't dare to ask or say anything until Curtis started.

"Do you think I've been wrong all this time?" Curtis asked.

Samuel was wide-eyed by Curtis' question. How could this stubborn man ask about his attitude. Samuel knelt down and looked down.

"I dare not blame you."

Of course, Curtis knew what Samuel's attitude meant. The man would praise him if he agreed with his decision. So Samuel's refusal to answer his question must be because he disagreed with his attitude.

Curtis let out a long sigh. He looked at Samuel.

"Alright, off you go. I need some time to think things over."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Seeing Samuel leave, Curtis began to reflect. He knew that without Swana, his life would be a living hell. Even the palace and power seemed unappealing to him. It was different when he with Swana.

'I guess I was too stubborn.'

Now Curtis is ready to let go of his ego so that he no longer hates Eden.
