Chapter 51

Adrian’s POV

Today, I didn't know why I woke up happy. Although I had slept beside Linda, I knew that she was not the reason I was happy. She can never be. I had a sweet dream that Elisabeth came back to me and we started a good home. Although it was a dream, it looked and felt real. This was the reason I was so happy. I looked at Linda who was sleeping beside me.

"Your days will soon be over," I said to her.

She's about to pour out the baby that's in her stomach and I will prove to everyone that it is not mine. I got dressed and went to work. It was so early but I just wanted to keep myself away from that woman. It is good that we only see ourselves at night.

She had thought that things were already good between us but then, she didn't know that I was going to catch her unawares and strip her of her rank. Make her feel the taste of her own medicine and what she had allowed me to do to my beloved woman. I will make her feel worse shame.

"Good morning Alpha," my Beta said to me.

His voice was still sleepy. I felt guilty when I saw the tired look on his face. We had left the office so late yesterday and I had told him to resume early today. The poor boy didn't have a choice but to concur.

"How are you Beta?" I asked as I walked into my office.

" Did anything good happen overnight?" He asked me.

He must have seen the bright smile on my face.

"It didn't but I have this feeling that it would soon be" I replied and smiled at him.

He looked at me but didn't say anything. I know that he must think that I'm not thinking right but I know what I'm feeling.

I knew that my instinct was right when the spy I put at the Alpha King's palace sent me a message.

"She's back"

I didn't need a fortune teller to tell me that he was talking about my Lisa. Now my dream is about to come true. Although it would be rough at first but I knew that Lisa loves me and would forgive me when I show her how remorseful I am.

But then something was bothering me. Why would she be part of the maid that the Alpha King chose to follow him on his trip? I just prayed that she hadn't caught the attention of the Alpha King. Her beauty was catchy.

I didn't even know why I was troubling myself. The Alpha King is surrounded by beautiful and sophisticated women. He will never look at Lisa twice and that alone made me happy.

"Get me Lisa's mother. We need to head to the Alpha King's palace" I said to my Beta.

" Is she back at the palace?" He asked me knowing that she is the only reason I will go there.

"Yes. I just got the information that she's already arrived. I have to go meet her" I said quickly.

I don't mind abandoning everything I am doing to go bring her home.

"Tell her to pack for a few days," I said behind my Beta's back.

He turned and looked at me with a little surprise.

"I am not coming back until she follows me to the pack," I said to him.

I knew he must be tired of my behavior but then, I am obsessed with bringing her home and that's what I would do. I won't relent.

We got to the palace late at night and we lodged in a hotel but very early in the morning, we went to the palace.

"I want to see Elisabeth," I told one of the guards.

The way he looked at me was as if I was too inferior to ask for Lisa. I wondered why he did that. The last time, this didn't happen.

"Well sorry, you can't see her Alpha," he said to me.

I didn't like the tone he used with me but then I couldn't complain. What I came for was far more important than what he was saying.

"Why?" I asked him with a little frown

"Do you have approval from his Highness?" He asked me.

This seems to be another confusing thing. I don't know what concerns the Alpha King and his approval of me asking for Lisa. I looked at her mother and it seems that she too was thinking about the same thing.

"What do I want to see Lisa get to do with His Highness?" I asked him.

" You have to get his highness's approval," he said firmly.

This made me wonder if he actually knew the Elisabeth I'm talking about.

"Do you know who I'm talking about?" I asked him to be sure.

" Why not? You are talking about her highness" he replied.

This got me more confused. When did Lisa become her highness? It can't be her. I sent her here as a slave and I heard that the Alpha King hates his slaves so much. How then will she become her highness soon?

"The Elisabeth talking about is a slave at the palace and not to her highness" I argued with him.

I'm also an Alpha and if the Alpha King got married it would have been announced to the whole pack in the region but I didn't hear of such news. This guard must be dreaming.

"Alpha it is very rude of you to call the Luna Queen a slave. It is treason against the throne" he snapped.

Looking at his face, he didn't seem like someone who was acting treacherously. He looked so serious. I looked at Lisa's mother and sighed. My heart was beating so fast.

"It can't be Lisa," I said to myself.

That woman he's mine, not the Alpha King's. I will not give her to anyone, not the Alpha King.

"Book me an appointment with the Luna Queen," I said to the guard.

" You then go meet his highness's Beta," he said.

He let us in and my heart was beating so fast. This is impossible. Lisa can never be the Luna Queen. It's not as if she's that pleasing to the eyes. There must be a lot of women around that are far more beautiful than Lisa around the Alpha King.

As we headed to where the Alpha King's Beta is, her mother was silent, and looking at her, I saw that she too was in deep thought. I wondered if she was happy to hear the news or was trying to tell herself that it is not true.

Aleksander’s POV

I had slept in Lisa's hospital ward. We are waiting for her to wake up. I had called the doctor like the times now to come and check on her. She said that she will soon be awake but till now she's not awake. I couldn't wait like the last time. I had suffered for two whole weeks before she woke up. I knew I needed to help her heal. I'm an Alpha King and I can help my members heal. I held her hand and started the process.

I closed my eyes and summoned my wolf to connect with hers. Her wolf was so weak but I gave her part of my strength. I will make sure I don't lose that girl. She's my everything.

To see if what I did was working, I removed all the bandages on her head and I saw the stitches on her poor head and my heart became heavier. This is so painful.

I closed my eyes and focused. I was sweating profusely. I rarely do this and it was taking a whole lot of my strength. By the time I was done, I was dripping with sweat and opening my eyes. I saw that what I did worked. All her injuries were healed

I didn't know why I didn't think of this the last time. I stood up and quickly went to change my clothes because I was already drenched in sweat. I rushed to my room and then quickly went to my wardrobe after I had a swift shower. As I was picking up my clothes, a polythene bag fell to the ground. I didn't know where it came from but then I was too occupied to even think about it. I will see to it later. I hurriedly wore my clothes and then ran back to the hospital.

When I got there, I didn't only meet the doctor, I met Ava, Nicholas, and Victoria. I don't know why they were here. Then moved aside when they saw me come in. It was then I saw that my want was already awake. I was so happy that I was almost jumping up like a pup. I ran to her and hugged her tight.

I didn't release her until she struggled a bit to be free. I was happy that my healing aid worked. I looked at her beautiful face and smiled but then she wasn't smiling back at me. She rather had on a grimace. Then I thought maybe she was in pain somewhere. If my healing aid had worked fine, she wouldn't be feeling any pain at all.

"Are you alright baby?" I asked her.

I was touching her body but surprisingly she hit my hand away.

"What are you doing and who is your baby?" She asked with a stern voice.

I looked at her in shock. It was as if someone poured cold water on me and it drenched my heart. I became confused. Is this the woman I fell in love with or another? My Lisa will never ask me such a question.

I looked at the people behind me and they moved closer to me.

"What are you saying, baby?" I asked her again.

I need to confirm if I heard wrong.

"I'm not your baby" she snapped at me again.

I then looked at the doctor to ask her what was going on. How on earth is this happening? Seeing the way I looked at her, the doctor moved closer.

"Your Highness, do you know me?" She asked Lisa.

Lisa looked at her.

" I don't think so and why are you calling me your Highness," she asked with a confused look.

I just hope it is not what I am thinking. Lisa should remember this doctor. She treated her the last time.

"What is going on?" I asked the doctor impatiently.

" I don't have a clear view of it sir but I think it's amnesia" she replied.

Oh no! This is not happening. Not again!

"Do you know me?" Ava asked.

Lisa looked at her and her frown wasn't reducing.

"Now I'm really confused. I know you are Ava, the Alpha King's sister, and you....." She pointed at Victoria. "You are Victoria, the Alpha King's ward, and you...." She pointed at Nicholas. "You are Nicholas, the Alpha King's brother. I don't know how I know you and how I am here. The last thing I remember is that I am preparing for a wedding" she said with a confused look.

At least she remembered that she was about to get married to me. I'm just so confused and restless here.

"Yes, you are about to get married to me" I reminded her.

Maybe this will help her remember the rest.

"No not you," she looked at him in some disgusting way.

Now I know that this is more serious than I thought.

"I'm about to get married to Adrian. The Alpha of my pack. What am I doing here?" She asked glaring at us.

I took her hand because I wouldn't let her be married off to another. This might be a weird dream she is in. She is only meant for me and no one else. She removed her hands from mine.

"Do something right now!" I ordered the doctor.

" Your Highness, we ran some tests on her yesterday and it should be out soon. It is then I will be able to know what exactly is happening to her" she replied in fear.

I looked at Lisa who was looking at me with some kind of confused eyes. She even moved back because she thought I was too close.

"Lisa, you are my woman," I said to her.

I wanted to touch her but she moved back. I was getting so frustrated at how she was avoiding me.
