Chapter 50

Elisabeth’s POV

Things are just falling into pleasant places for me. Ander is just the console the moon goddess sent to me after what Adrian did to me. I was really happy. Ander already announced that we are engaged and getting married soon. I was having my etiquette classes. I had thought that it was going to be something hard but then it was just like the one I took back to my pack. Well, just a little different because now, I'm not only a Luna but the Luna Queen which is in simple terms, the Luna of all Lunas.

It's quite interesting how I was being denied becoming a Luna and sent here to become a Luna Queen. The title wasn't what's making me so happy but the man I'm getting married to. He is all-loving.

I wasn't angry because he seems very busy. After all, I knew that he is a busy man before my heart decided to fall in love with him.

"Your Highness, your tea is ready," Christy told me.

Christy, ever since she heard that I'm going to become the Luna Queen, she's been all happy as if she's the one who is going to be the queen.

I want to surprise him with it. Although this is my first, Christy has told me that I have good fingers for knitting and I'm so happy about it. It's been three days now and I'm almost done. I made sure to keep it away from Ander, I don't want him to see it. Although I don't know if he would appreciate it but then, I still want to give him something from my heart.

"Luna, didn't I tell you that you are fated to be a Luna?" She asked me with a big grin.

I smiled at what she said. I had thought that her words were to console me from Adrian's betrayal but then it seems like she is a seer. I collected the tea she offered me and took a sip from it.

After my morning breakfast, I was just strolling in the garden. My tutor had called that her pup is sick so she wouldn't be available today. I wanted to keep her busy but I shifted it to later after I heard the pup is still at the hospital.

"Your Highness' ' one of the maids passed and greeted me.

That is the next development now. Everyone had already started to refer to me as the Luna Queen even when I haven't even been crowned. It was nice to be respected but then it also feels so awkward.

Right now I am alone because Christy had gone to buy me a snack. I was done with my knitting and I can't wait to give Ander when he arrives. I want to see how his reaction will be

I was bored so I decided to go to my room and read a book. I didn't see anyone on the way as I left. Well, it is a work day so many of them would have gone to do their respective duties. I wish I also have work to do. I would have gone to help Ava with hers but then she and Nicholas had also left with Ander. Those three, they are workaholics. I wondered how they became that.

As I was climbing up the stairs, my phone rang and it was Ander. I was so happy to see his call. It was as if he knew that I was bored.

"Hey baby," I said with a big smile.

That was how we began to talk. I didn't continue to my room, I just stayed on the stairs, rested on the railing, and talked on happily.

"You can't be serious," I said to Ander, laughing.

That guy was getting naughtier and naughtier day after day. I'm sure no one knows how silly their Alpha King is.

"Do you think......"

I couldn't hear the rest of his words because I felt something push me all of a sudden. My phone went flying up and I tried all my best possible not to fall off but then the push was too much and I was already at the top of the stairs. I rolled down so hard. I couldn't help but to scream and then everything went blank.

Aleksander’s POV

On the trip I went to, those idiots weren't expecting me to be there, and right now seeing me attending to them myself they were already shivering.

They were fighting over a land that divided their pack and then gold was discovered in it. Neither of the two planned to work together or share. Each one claimed to be the rightful owner of the land. I just wondered how daft they could be.

"Well, my conclusion is I am buying off that land. I'm not going to let you kill people just because of a piece of land and some precou6 stone" I said firmly to them.

I know that they were not satisfied with what I have done but then they don't have a choice. I was still benevolent enough to give them money for that land. The money I offered them was twenty times the price of what the land should be Initially sold for.

I wasn't giving them an option. I gave them an order. I haven't planned 6 on what to do with the land. I only want to make peace first.

I was still in a meeting when I missed my woman. I then asked them to take a break because I wanted to call her. She picked up when it rang twice and I was happy.

"Hey baby" her sweet voice filled my ears.

" Happy?" I asked her

Nicholas and Ava were mocking me while I made my call but then I didn't care a bit about them. They kept laughing at every word I said saying how boring of a man I am, and that I am forcing myself to be romantic. At some point, I glared at them but my focus was on Lisa.

We were still talking when I heard her scream all of a sudden and then the other line was silent. I looked at the phone and the call had already ended.

I jumped up in agitation. What the heck happened right now? I dialed the number again but it wasn't connecting. This was so disturbing

"Lisa, what is wrong?" I said aloud.

Right now, I am hot all over. Beads of sweat were already on my head. Nicholas and Ava who was watching me had already come closer.

"What's wrong?" Ava asked me.

I was shaking all over.

" I don't know. We were just talking and the next thing I heard was her scream and then nothing more. I can't even reach her again" I rushed out.

This is not going to happen to me again. I know how much I suffered when she was hurt the last time.

"I'm going back to the palace," I said to them.

I don't even care if I will abandon what I came here to do. The only thing on my mind is to check if my woman is safe.

"Why not calm down? What if it is a false alarm?" Nicholas asked.

He too wasn't calm and he looked scared.

"I don't care," I snapped.

"Why not let me call Christy and ask what is going on? She's always with her" Ava suggested.

As she talked she already brought out her phone and dialed the maid's number.

"Hello.... Christy.... Where is Lisa?...... Ok bye," she ended the call.

" What did she say?" Nicholas beat me to that question.

" She said that she's on an errand and she's not with her," she replied.

Now my worry was hyped. I didn't even wait to hear other words. It was at my back that I heard Ava say she wanted to call Victoria.

"Alek wait!" Nicholas called.

I didn't even reply. I just headed to the parking lot and entered my car and drove away without waiting for any. I drove like a madman back to the palace.

The guards that saw me come in alone like a madman became shocked and scared at the same time. They didn't know what brought me back.

I ran straight to my room to check on my woman but I didn't find her there. I rushed back outside. Then I saw her phone on the floor scared to pieces. Now I know that there is a problem. I looked around to see who would answer my question.

I saw one of the maids and then called her.

"Where is my woman?" I asked her.

She seems afraid to talk.

" You better start talking!" I growled at her.

" I heard that she tripped on the stairs and Miss Victoria found her lying unconscious on the ground. She's at the hospital........"

I didn't even let her finish before I raced to the hospital. My heart was beating fast. She just survived one attack and she's already in another. What the heck is wrong with my life? When I got to the place, I saw Victoria seated there and I rushed to her.

"What the heck happened!" I shouted.

I looked towards the emergency room and then back to Victoria who stood up immediately after she heard my voice.

Victoria looked scared. Although I don't know how my face is right now but with the way the two people I have spoken to have reacted, I know I must have looked so dreadful.

"Talk to me Victoria!" I shouted.

"Alek, I.... I.... Do not know. I only found her lying unconsciously beneath the stairs when Ava called me to go look for her and I called for help quickly" she replied to me.

Looking at her face, I knew she was telling the truth. I sat down running on my head. I caught a headache all of a sudden. Why must it be me that bad things will happen to?

I waited at the emergency door for minutes but then it looked like a century to me. Victoria was beside me consoling me but then I didn't even hear a single thing she was saying.

"How is she?" I heard Ava's voice.

I looked up and noticed that not only Ava was there, but Christy, Lisa's maid was also there. She was even crying right now. I couldn't even say anything.

"Why would this happen to the poor girl every time" Ava said with sorrow in her eyes.

I was fighting tears but the pain was too much in my heart. I know someone might have hurt her. Her slipping wouldn't have made her stay in the emergency room for hours.

The light in the emergency room went off and it showed signs that they were done. I stood up and rush to the door and truly the doctor came out

"How is she?" I rushed at her.

"I had managed to stop the bleeding in her head and now we are waiting for her to wake up to know if she's fully out of danger" the doctor replied to me.

Everyone sighed but I was still agitated.

"What exactly happened to her?" I asked.

I wanted to know if someone was behind this. I'm sure not going to forgive whoever did this to me. I don't want to know who the hell the person is.

"I was told that she slipped while she was walking down the stairs but from what I observed from her injuries, your highness, the injuries were too deep and harsh from just slipping. I think someone pushed her from behind and the person pushed her violently" the doctor replied.

" Yes, I know it," I said stiffly.

I then looked at Victoria, Ava, and Nicholas. My face must have been showing red because they moved back immediately. My wolf was taking over.

"You must find me that idiot that pushed my woman, else, I will bury everyone alive" I growled.

Just as I talked, Lisa was wheeled out with her head wrapped in bandages. My heart melted in pain. This woman just went through one pain and now she's having another. I closed my eyes as they carried her away. My heart was already shaking, I don't know if it wouldn't stop any moment from now. But then I will make sure to bury the one who caused me so much pain in their own blood. I didn't want to know how many there were.

I glared at those standing and then walked away. I will never let this go. I will get to the root of the pain they caused me.

I then went to the VIP room that Lisa was kept in. I won't leave her side until she wakes up. I will make sure to help her home through this!
