Chapter 254 Bonus – It’s Time
6 weeks later
Lainey’s POV
“Rise and shine, cupcake,” I blurted out cheerily. “Time to go have some babies!”
Ben opened one eye. “Cupcake?” He mumbled. “When did I become a sweet confectionary?”
“Just this morning, because you’re so sweet and so tasty I could lick you,” I giggled.
Ben chuckled, “You’re not allowed to eat anything, even dick, this morning.”
“I’m fine as long as I don’t swallow,” I teased.
“You horny little ball of pregnancy hormones,” Ben said as he rubbed his face and sat up, then he looked at me. “You’re already dressed?” He questioned. “Looks like you’re excited to get to the hospital.”
“Um, yeah, I have 20 plus pounds of baby in me, and I have to pee every half an hour,” I advised. “Of course I’m ready to have the trio.”
“Point taken,” Ben grinned. “Let me have a quick shower and get dressed.”
“Hurry, we have to be there in an hour, and everyone is meeting us there,” I revealed.
“Everyone?” Ben asked. “I thought just your mom and my mom were coming.”
“Well, actually, Becks and Andrew wanted to come. Then Meiko and Ren said they wanted to be there. It kind of snowballed from there, and Thomasina, Roberta, and Reg are showing up. Oh, of course, your dad, too.”
“I’ll have to see when we get to the hospital if they have a special waiting area for everyone,” Ben laughed.
“Already taken care of. I talked to Dr. MacKenzie this morning,” I beamed. “She said Ingrid is setting up the VIP waiting area for our guests.”
“It had to be my mom’s idea,” Ben said, rolling his eyes. “She probably has a full buffet and decorations in there.”
“Probably,” I giggled. “Now go shower.”
As Ben disappeared into the bathroom, I headed out into the living room. Why do I smell bacon?
“Hey, mama,” Becks yelled from the kitchen. “Sorry about the food smell. I know you can’t have any, but I need to feed Ben, so he’s locked in to helping you with the delivery. You know how much of a baby he is when he’s hangry.”
I laughed loudly, “Aren’t all men?”
“True enough,” Becks replied.
“Where’s Andrew?” I asked.
“On the patio with Chewie,” Becks told me. “Or spending time with his nephew, according to him.”
“He is my brotha from another motha,” I giggled.
“And next January he will officially be your brother by marriage,” Becks beamed.
“You set a date?!?” I squealed.
“Yes, January 19th,” Becks informed. “Lainey, I want you and Ben to be our people of honor if it's not too much for you.”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I grinned. Becks ran up to me and hugged me.
“The hugging has started already?” Ben asked, walking out of the hallway.
“Becks and Andrew set a wedding date,” I replied. “We are going to be their people of honor.”
“Fantastic, Becks,” Ben said, smiling. He walked over and hugged her.
Becks looked at her watch. “Shit, you better eat, Ben.”
“I’ll just have coffee,” Ben stated.
“Oh, hell no,” Becks chastised. “I’m not having you pass out in the delivery room. I made you an egg & ham bagel.”
Ben’s face perks up. “With the Beck’s hollandaise sauce?” He said eagerly.
“Of course,” Becks responded.
“Well, I can’t really say no to that,” Ben said, rubbing his hands together and heading to the kitchen. “You’re the bestest sister ever.”
Andrew walked in from the patio with Chewie tucked under his arm. “Becks, we’d better hurry. We have to take Chewie to the mansion and pick up your parents and Angelica.”
“Ok, let me just grab my purse,” Becks said, scurrying off.
Andrew walked over to me. “Chewie, give mummy kisses,” Andrew grinned. “When you see her next, you won’t be a spoiled only child.”
“He’ll just be a spoiled older brother,” Ben chuckled as he walked out of the kitchen.
I hugged Chewie. “He’s not spoiled,” I huffed.
“He has silk pajamas,” Ben laughed.
“You bought them for him!” I said, giggling.
“Oh, yeah,” Ben said sheepishly.
“Ok, we’re out of here,” Becks announced, heading towards the front door. “See you at the hospital.”
“I can’t wait!” I said, bouncing on my heels.
As soon as they were out the door, Ben turned to me. “Are you ready to go?” Ben grinned.
“You have no idea how ready I am,” I stated, tears welling in my eyes.
Ben crossed the distance between us. “What’s wrong, my sweetness?” Ben asked, concerned.
“Excited,” I declared. “Terrified at the same time.”
“Me too,” Ben agreed. “We’ve never done this before, and they don’t exactly come with a manual, but we’re going to make great parents.”
“I hope so,” I replied.
“I know so,” Ben said, stroking my cheek. “You are so loving and nurturing. You’ll be a natural. Me, I’m just hoping I don’t drop a baby.” Ben laughed.
“Oh, my goodness, don’t say that,” I giggled. “Now I have another fear.”
“You’re not going to drop a baby,” Ben scoffed. “You have the hands of a surgeon. Steady and strong grip strength. How do you think we ended up with triplets?”
“Funny guy,” I snickered.
Ben’s phone went off. “Charlie pulled the baby mobile around to the front entrance,” Ben grinned.
“Baby mobile,” I laughed.
“Yep, all three baby seats installed and inspected,” Ben said proudly.
“Ok, let’s get this show on the road,” I expressed, as I started waddling towards the door.
“I’m going to miss that,” Ben said, smiling.
“Miss what?” I questioned.
“Your adorable penguin walk,” Ben teased, “and well, that ass.”
“Really? Remind me to sit on your face with ‘that ass.’” I smirked.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Ben growled.
“I won’t miss the feeling of having to pee all the time,” I sighed.
“Do you have to go now?” Ben asked. “It’s 30 minutes to the hospital.”
I stopped almost at the door. “Shit,” I grumbled and turned around to walk back to the bathroom. I put my hands on my belly. “I can’t wait to meet you babies, and so does my bladder.”
